  1. I agree with yall. Your gonna get stuck with a underpowered boat and somebodies problems if you get a glass one for that price. I found that Nitros were a decent price compared to others of the same years that were overpriced (imo). 7K is about the least you'll need to get a reliable glass, imo A aluminum with a 50hp is gonna be 4k. Shop as much as you can stand ! Privet sales are the way to go !
  2. Yup, I use the chit for a filler on the spools. Or for Darn tooth floss !
  3. 8500.00. 5 yrs @ 5.1 % = 129.00 + - (House equity loan).
  4. I just had carb work done on my 2000 Merc 150 XR6. It was dieing when ever I gunned it to get on plane. I could hit the choke some and it would gradually get there. I was warned about running lean and the massive damage that could happen. I decided to go ahead and take it to the shop. 300.00 later it runs like a dream ! The tec said it was real stopped up. I've bought a manual now so I can save a few $$ maybe. Spraying cleaner in it wont unstop it I was told. It just cleans the butterfly and walls not the needles nor jets.
  5. This came from ...... This !!
  6. Jerk her/him into the boat ! Sweep rod to either side keeping line tight .... is my final answer !
  7. I looked at one just like it but not abandoned ! The guy wanted 4k for it ! I'd say you made a good deal !!
  8. Hey, I'm glad to see this post. I had just told my buddy about the fish in my small pond having what looked like a blood like tint in their gills and mouth area. The fish at the reservoir do not. I remember as a kid if I fed my gold fish too much they would start looking veinish. ? Yall have good points on why.
  9. That's a big ole belly on her !!
  10. Interesting ! Thanks for the link !
  11. What ?? Bass Season ..... lol ! I didn't even know up north there was a Bass season !!! Mississippi 365 24/7 !!
  12. River rat +1 on the blue flake with the craw T-Rig has as a trailer !!
  13. I love to fish Lizards Texas rid mostly. The drop shot style really interest me but so far I've not stayed with it very long due to the places I've been fishing lately. It seems the peanut butter colors do better in the muddy water here. The bigger ones catch bigger fish imo. This pic was with a lizard Saturday
  14. I am having the same trouble. I have begun to find that to leave the knob on the right (the one that controls the drop) loose and use the magnetic break. This works for me somewhat. I have the knob loose and according to the weight of the lure 1 for jigs, 2 for lighter lures. Also the drag can't be too tight. I like a med fast action rod for the really light lures. My MH worm rod (as I call it) will not throw a light weight lure. I reckon I'm saying it's more the rod than it is the reel ! imo
  15. I have never owned a spin cast. No one I have ever know used them for anything but a toy to add to the fight of brim and smaller type fish. :-? We all grew up on Zebco's 202's and such. (closed face) Thus right side reel. 8-) Now after a bad motorcycle wreck my right wrist does not work so good and I've taught myself to throw a bait cast left handed assisted with my right on the very end of the rod. Thank goodness for the longer handles now on rods. The short pistol grip was all there was back 30 yrs ago. Now I can throw with either when needed. I throw with the left and start the real and when I set a hook I catch the rod on the cork just above the reel with my right and jerk that sob inside out !! ;D I bought my first spin cast a month ago .... :-/ It's so much trouble, -take the string in this finger and flip this thing over hold the string while you sling it toward the spot, turn the crank to make this wire flip back over- ..........auggggg ... :'( I'm gonna put a closed face on that tiny rod and spend more time fishing than trying to fish. lol ! Not really, cause it does throw without interference from the spool. That's the only thing good about the reel. Now the little rod that makes a small fish fun and a big fish more fun ... That's another thread !
  16. No one has said Mississippi. Heck all along the Miss. river the old river lakes. All the way north to south of the state. The Ross Barnett Reservoir/ Pearl river. Several man made lakes the your guaranteed to catch the limit.
  17. I'm a noob so I can't talk from facts but doesn't a Bass hit frogs ... not to eat but to kill ? My point is if the bass thinks it's alive she will hit it .... get a taste and if it's a good taste she'll eat, if not ........ Well, the hook kinda makes the rest of the story unnecessary.
  18. bassintips com/bassseecolors This goes into all the science of a bass's eye and how it works.
  19. Hey guys and gals ! I'm a noob to BIG Bass fishing I guess one would say. I've fished small lakes and ponds but never reservoirs or huge lakes. Now I'm getting into the real world of bass fishing with an old friend that has done allot of fishing during the last 15 years. He know a bunch and I know near nothing. I'm gonna pick yalls brains and try to get up to speed if ya don't mind ! 8-)
