  1. well dec. 30 i caught a 9 1/2 hog. but this year, I have one that went 7 some thing(pic) and several between 4 and 6 1/2(the 2nd 2 pics) there are others but I dont have pics of them.
  2. def. not a shad, looks like maybe a white bass, or possibly a hybrid
  3. I got to FGCU, and when the water gets cold, they come out of the lake in housing an get on the side walks at night where it is warm, and some time there are a lot of them. basically yes, they are native, check the laws, they need a different licience, and it has ways to trap them, they make crawfish traps.
  4. at my house it is 97 degrees, with 80% humidity, heat index of 103 At the boat ramp at 1 pm the thermomitor was at 107. no wind fishing was hot too though 20 in 4 hours.... it was not fun being out with that heat though.
  5. depth? try a trap around the outside and a senco, lizard or creature in the middle right at the base of each tree. if real deep try a drop shot. with a finesse or fluke.
  6. I like a 7' for skipping and weightless
  7. i could be wrong but I think all of that type of stuff is done by the federation.
  8. go find a pond behind a older shopping center, through a crank bait, trap or worm, this is how I am fairly successful in that area, if you can get in to private golf courses or housing areas that is where you will find the biggest of the big fish.
  9. I am from florida, I live in J-ville and Go to School at FGCU, I am the presedrnt of the fishing club and I dissagree with you, we have had 3 tournaments for bass, the winning weights(for 3 fish) where 12.4, 16.8, and 13.1, and we typically have every person catch there 3 fish limit, and it is all catch and release. I dont know where you fish, but if you want some help let me know. Im not there now, but there are many pond and canals we fish that have tons of little fish and have some HOGS in them.
  10. bandit 100 chART. AND BLACK pull it to the edge of the grass and let it float up.
  11. we tipically have more boaters than no boaters, when this happens you have 2 choises, get a guest or risk fishing with out of some one elses boat. it is a fairness and safety thing, so 99% of the time there are 2 people in a boat.
  12. there are a lot of guys who this has happened to, look over the standings, currently I beleive 3 of the top 10 money winners EVER are bellow 75th in the standings, and u have to remeber that not all of the top 10 are fishing.
  13. as Sammylee said, here on the St. Johns, we have one of the best red fish fisheries in florida and aan execlent Bass, sea trout and Flounder fishery all with in a half hour run of each other and it is not rare at all to catch several species in a single day (i did last week catching a big bass(over 8 #'s) a good keeper red and a few trout all in a 3 hour window). basically as the salinty rises you see the bass go deeper and as the rain comes in the fish move shallower, i dont know about other places but thats how it is here.... some times, tidal bass are un predicatable!
  14. yeah, that stuff can hold some big fish, the top 3 bags in our club tourny a couple months ago came from right around there.
  15. and this http://www.floridafederationnation.com/officers.php
  16. this should help. http://www.floridabassfederation.com/clubs
  17. i'll be there next week also any help would be a huge help.
  18. the grass patches near the creek to the boat ramp? or across the lake near the cypress trees out from shore? I like both but I would be curious at which are hotter now, i might head over this week.
  19. never fished it but i know there are people who catch fish there.
  20. yall just fish the deeper offshore grass line?
  21. naw, thats sampson, that is real good, cause there was a tourny sat. that my buddy won with 16# and he was the only won with over 10 #, but it sure is fun catching those fish on crank baits.
  22. so yall ended up going to rodman? I was there sat. and it took 18 some thing to win and many people had 12+ I on the other hand did not get on to fish at my normal spots, and only had one around 5 and broke another off about the same size, they caught em early on top water around the grass and later on c-rigs and jigs near the dam.
  23. I wanted to let all the college anglers know that FGCU is hosting a tournament on the St. Johns River in NE Florida in NOV., It should be fun. If you are interested let me know. and send me a PM with your email.
  24. sampson is a good choise, you can kill em, with the high water you will likely be able to catchem and there is a chance at a 10# fish in that lake and there is a very good chance at 6# + fish it is great right now.
