  1. do the stars really matter?
  2. personally i speed up in the spring and fall. but another major issue we run in to is fronts effect the bite so bad on the shallow body of waters. I fish the st johns a lot. i move deeper when some thing happens with the weather or tempature. I believe you dont have to change what you do, but i do.
  3. it does not get any better than this.
  4. you gotta go with the truck! 2010 toyota Tundra Ext. cab. A big Engine, strong truck, best tow vehicle ever!
  5. it has been, im not that old an remember seeing it before.
  6. thats cause there are no good SEC games today
  7. I go to Florida Gulf Coast, a small state school in south west florida. We are currently working with the school to get money for gas, travel, a boat, ect. we are a new club, only being in our 2nd year. read the post above mine, there is some good info there.
  8. I dont know about piranha, but people catch pacu all the time, they get big and look like piranhabut no teeth
  9. all those schools have good teams, i gotta convince some of you guys from out that way to came down and fish in south florida at my school
  10. I like them they look good and do catch some fish.
  11. the pros provide them. it is a really good set up, what school are you going to or looking at going to. I fish for FGCU in south west Florida
  12. its much harder than it sounds to just to get started much less compete.
  13. end of dec., into march prob.
  14. kyle, I wish yall would come fish my tourny but, the water will be darker than what you are used to, it will most likely look like tea, how ever clears areas are possible if you find areas with hydrilla. the temp will be in the upper 60 to low 70's I fish up a little further north last weekend and it was sitting between 70 and 72. look for areas with sparce pads, if there is hydrilla it is best, and of course look for schoolers, they shouls be around right now. Also try bulkheads, I personally tend to catch more fish off steel with any kind of turn or bend but rocks are good to. make note of how the water is running. and check creek mouths and that kind of stuff agian for schoolers. read what i sent yall for my tourny it is fairly similar.
  15. my 4 biggest fish all over 9 pounds have come between 9 and 1, 2 came on a ragetail anaconda(including the 11 pounder), one came off a bed and the 3rd came using a 6 inch money minnow, with a weighted hook around stumps and hydrilla patches(I hooked a 2nd one on this that i never saw but if it was a bass it was 10 plus easy.)
  16. my understanding as some one who wants to sign up is it fills up quick and if you want to fish the 1st one it is hard to sign up just for it and it gets easier as you go down the list.
  17. lockloosa is very hot right now for both big fish and numbers.
  18. yeah i have seen many 20 pound limits come out of live wells totally healthy, and Fourbizz, in Florida ,at least with the people I fish with, 20 pound limits are not any where near rare. in fact I would say about 40% of tournys i fish take limits over 20 to win and several a year take 30.
  19. plus- people can come back from a bad day easier minus- a one big fish helps a lot more.
  20. i have caught quite a few 5, 6, 7 pound fish in tournys, i was oddly much more relaxed catching that fish, it might have been pure shock I dont know.
  21. rage tail anaconda
  22. guys, i want to thank yall for all the great stuff yall said, it was one of the best monent in my fishing career.
  23. to answer the questions. i caught it on a 7 inch ragetail anaconda(redbug)on a 1/4 oz tru tungsten weight, I won the tourny, had my 3 fish limit weighing 21.1 pounds winning by over 5 pounds. That fish had more girth than any nonspawning fish I have ever seen, and that is not the largest fish in that area it is like 6 small ponds all connected. I cant wate for the spawn to start I think I can top that this year. but I am so happy about that fish I dont even want to think that far ahead.
  24. caught this fish in my college club tourny today. how big do u think? no im kidding, it was right at 11 pounds it was a hog i went crazy, i had heard fish this big live there but had never caught one.
  25. yeah, lets put it this way if yall are turning stuff esp. mone downsend it my way. we need it.
