  2. bassbanger I got some bad news, While Preston will likely put u on some fish. there is a fish kill going on due to all the rain, it is bringing tanic acid down the oklawaha and it has started near orange springs, I hear the water all over the lake is very darks and the fishing is terrible. :-[
  3. yeah, they do show old tournys every once and a while. so it was prob. the swindle incent.
  4. Has any one fished the Stjohns near palatka lately? if so what are the fish hitting on and in waht areas, i am fishing it all week. are they are docks, bulkheads or just the grass? or some thing else.
  5. man I feel for u, ill be fishing it in a couple weeks. but its almost always tough, if I were you I would go Flipping! or try trick worms, senco, and curly tails right on the edge of the kissimee grass. PM me and I will give you a little bit me advise that I dont really want to share with the world if you know what i mean. Any ways congrats on making it to the championship I fish the junior tournys at the state level for 5 years and was never able to advance. PM ME I HAVE SEVERAL THINGS YOU MIGHT LIKE!
  6. yeah, a 51/2 footer makes good eating.... not that any one condones doing any thing illegal.
  7. here is the long and short, by 3 colors junebug blue tail(trick worms and curly tails) get pbandj sencos and watermelon flules. fish them all slow, and wait till your line starts to swim. white spinner baits in off color water and crome and blue back traps when the water starts to cool. also when its hot stick with either frogs or prop baits in the morning. also pitching beavers and big worms work good whenits hot. Black is also a good color
  8. for sure, i have used 2 or 3 hooks, with 2 i tie them at about 10 inches and 16(so the worm is just above the 2 hook hanging limp) and for 3 they are at 8, 14, 20 inches. I have caught 2 fish at once one time, not huge but it was funny.
  9. I fish from shore in ponds around ft myers all the time. I catch tons of fish on Bandit 100's during the the spawn, it will catch pre spawn, spawn and post spawn fish. I just pitchit pas the grass to deeper water and crank it back past the grass, I have caught several good fish(lost 2 in the 10# range) and caught tons of little fish. We use traps all the time, esp. if you can see the fish schooling or bait fish on the surface.
  10. he is very lucky, I heard of a guy where i live that was killed for a simalar crime! you get what you deserve some times.
  11. "You wouldn't be in 2nd, though. More like 3rd or 4th. If we split them by species, I'd be in 1st w/ 57.78, then T-Rage, then you. Haven't looked at the other smallie entries, so there might be one more." My fish were Largemouth, we dont have smallmouth or spots in florida
  12. we have the same stuff in lake kingsley on camp blanding in florida, but it grows as deep as 20'.... or at least it looks the same.
  13. I am fishing lake Wheeler for the first time this weekend, I am looking to rent a boat, and hopefully catch a few fish. if any one has any suggestion on where to catch a few fish let me know, please.
  14. not many guides fish it, and most who do use live bait, so most people just find a person who knows it well and is willing to fish with them.
  15. it would be an odd looking tilapia, but it could be, but I would guess a mayan, but with out a pic of the tail it is hard to tell, as the other pic shows mayans can get very large.
  16. excuse me i miss read the numbers the average is right but only 17 boats so 34 anglers and 29 3 fish limits
  17. orange is HOT! my club had a tourny there last weekend,(i did not fish do to a college tourny) the fish average was nearly 2 and half pound, only 3 fish limits and 23 boat, so 46 anglers, and 45 limits. no huge fish but the biggest was 5 and a half, but huge fish were caught during practice and the rain had muddied the water a little. basically its going off!
  18. just out of interest, shouldnt we divide it by species, cause it seems like the SM numbers are higher. and some people like me are donthave the ability to fish for them. it just for fun I still like 2nd better than 7th
  19. they are coming back strong even in the last 10 years since I have fished them, in club tournys in the last 2 years we have had 3 10# landed between the 2 lakes. I personally have caught sever 5-8# fishing, and days of 20 to 50 fish are not rare, if you are on them(if not you can blank, though). the water level and amount of pads have alot to do with how many big fish will be caught. long story short, they are coming back strong.
  20. devils horse is my number 1 top water
  21. yankee's landing is the only one on lockloosa I believe, there might be one more. 8-)
  22. I like the spike-it pen, It makes it real easy to put a little color on a soft plastic tail or body, I have not tryed JJ yet though.
