  1. Just got a local report. Bass are bedding in 3 to 10 ft. of water.. Break out the Senco's... ;D
  2. I agree...you can catch bass in shallow water but it's so pressured you may only get a few fish under 5 lbs. other spots for bass is hit or miss. Right now it's slow except for strippers.
  3. Works fine for me...try clearing your cookies, that may help. *off topic replies and posts deleted
  4. Haha..I ain't hooked any large fish yet.. :-[ But I'm tryin like crazy.. So far the so.cal bass bite hasn't really happened yet, yeah some bass are caught, mostly smaller ones....stay tuned.
  5. It may not be the right or most popular thing to do early, but I always toss out a spinnerbait, more often than not, and depending on conditions, I'll snag at least 1 fish.that way I don't get skunked.. ;D Tossin soft plastic's or a crankbait would'nt hurt either.
  6. Welcome aboard. Yup tons of Great info on fishin here, this has to be the best site on the interwebs..
  7. I just replaced all of mine with gammies..
  8. 5" Senco's...and when they get beat up, I cut them and use them in the 2 1/2" size...
  9. Absolutly...Welcome aboard!
  10. Here in so.cal I've had the best luck dropshoting using Senco's..pumpkin with red flake seems to be the best color so far. Depending on conditions ect..experiment with different lenghts and baits, i.e. I use any thing from 8lb to 12 test. Senco's and Roboworms are my choice.
  11. True, but I still buy em..
  12. Spinnerbaits and worms...
  13. We fish em without bobbers or weights in some cases, it all depends on what the situation is and what the fish like. Senco's will sink, I wouldn't fish em in real deep water. You can see how to rig a wacky worm by googling "wacky rig" Wacky rigs can be used drop shoting too.
  14. Welcome back JC, i started up again after over 20 yrs. So far most of the lakes my Son and I fish here in so.cal we've caught most off them on senco's weightless or drop shot wacky rigged. Senco's that work best for us are the pumpkin with red flakes, or the oxblood robo worms.
  15. Strange as it may sound, I get the most bites on a weightless wacky, ussually a senco, but Robo worms have produced really well too. I think in shallow water a weightless worm seems more natural.
  16. My Son gave me a 6'6" mh spinng rod for Christmas, I mounted a Shimano reel and have caught several bass and trout with it...For the $$$ i think they are decent rods.
  17. In the past up to 1986 I used only Stren, since I've started fishin again, I've tried a few different lines including Vanish fluro..I just keep goin back to trilene xl both on my BC and spinning reels. I always use KVD line and reel conditioner too..
  18. Size of the reel..i.e. a 1500 is smaller than a 2500..I prefer the 4000 although I own a Shimano 2500 which holds about 160 yds of 10lb test
  19. Although I hate wally world, I do buy my Strike King spinner baits there, and have had great success with them. I also have every other makers spinner baits except LC's..to much $$$ Next to the strike king, the Booya seems to work best for me. You guys ever used the cheapo spinner baits from Sports Authority..?
  20. Thanks fella's Coldwaterbassin thanks, I figureded out just before your post.. :-[ I cleaned it all up and lubed as you suggested. I had a major problem with the braking, now it works great!!!! I'll be tryin it out tomorrow at Lake Skinner!! btw we fished there yesterday and had a decent day 8-) Thanks again Greg
  21. I caught the show last night after a long days fishing..Great show..way to go Russ....... 8-)
  22. I've taken the screws out, along with the drage ect. I press the button on the rightside (left handed crank) but I still can't get the reel apart. This reel was given to me, and I tried out yesterday and got a huge birdsnest :-[ By the looks of what I see it needs some lube too. We are fishing tomorrow so any quick help would be Much appreciated. Modle is ext10hlc
