  1. Yeah you can throw the Arashi with a 200, but...the 300 does it better, i.e. more distance.
  2. And it's Bundle up time for some of us..lol
  3. You would have to define " bigger swimbaits " I have 2 Tatula 200 reels, I also have a 300, what I find is that anything over 2.5 oz. the 200 sorta struggles, for lack of a better word. The 200 will work well for baits like the S Waver 168, ect. However it doesn't work so well with baits like the Storm Arashi gliders, and say a Hudd 8" bait. I think for an all around good reel would be the Tatula 200. As for the Tatula XT rods, I have 2 of them, one is my frogging rod. For the $$ IMHO they are a good deal.
  4. You do some amazing work Allen
  5. I had an Okuma Guide Select swimbait rod years ago. For the $$ it worked really well. The new ones now days look even better, at $139.99. Normally I'd suggest an Irod, but most of their rods are sold out at TW.
  6. I'd go with this one. They also have a model with blades. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/HogFarmer_Baits_Tactical_Bassin_Flex_Rig/descpage-HFTF.html
  7. I've had a pretty rough life growing up, and have had things, and seen things that no teenager should have to deal with. I feel really bad for this kid, and hope he can in some way adjust as best as he can to live a somewhat normal life. Peoples actions can and do have a profound effect on certain people, especially kids. So sad.
  8. Sunline Sniper is pretty easy to manage on both spinning and baitcasting reels, and is very reasonably priced.
  9. They get mentioned every now and then. Yamamoto Fat Ika, rigged upside down. Caught a ton of bass with these.
  10. Mainly fish from shore, with that in mind, I have 8 combos, from a 7"2" ML spinning rig to an 8' big swimbait rig, and a bunch in between. Some of my rigs are used for more than 1 presentation, I pretty much have everything I fish with covered for how I fish, so yup, my collection is complete.
  11. Use to be a huge shimano fan 10 years ago when they were made in Japan. When I got back into fishing, I decided to look at other makes of reels. Bought a Diawa Fuego spinning reel. Was pretty happy with it, so I bought 5 Diawa baitcasters. During that time I did buy a Shimano Citica for a great price. Would I buy more Shimano reels, most likely not. I would just say if you like the Lew's reels, and they have a model you like, but it. In your price range there are some really good reels to be had.
  12. Cody, when your Flipping, are you actually casting ? The reason I ask is true flipping does not involve any casting. You would strip out the desired length of line, then do an underhand cast to the area where your targeting bass, but at no time is the spool engaged. If your engaging the spool, then technically your Pitching. I never got the need for a switch on a reel, but that's just old school me..
  13. Guess I'm just old fashion, unless a snap is either recommended or comes with a snap, I tie directly to the bait. The only hard baits I toss regularly are my large jointed swimbaits, glide and wake baits. Don't do cranks or lipless any longer, and my jerkbaits aren't used often enough to warrant having a dedicated rod for them.
  14. I have the Fuego, the Tatula 100, 150, 200 and the 300 reels. I use the Fuego for froggin with straight braid. I don't use leaders so yeah, I like the T Wing.
  15. Uni for everything except a drop shot, then palomar. Should mention that some years ago before I had to take certain Meds that cause my hands to shake, I used the San Diego jam knot, except for drop shot's.
  16. Your more than welcome. Happy fishing !!
  17. If you look at the "tucked out" models you can see the tops of the chartreuse shad for example is much darker than the normal C shad bait, same goes for the Hitch also. As far as I can tell, and I have a couple of these baits, that's all there is to it. They do catch fish without a doubt. Hope that helps.
  18. Welp, I learned during the last couple of months that chuckin and winding 3 oz. plus baits isn't nearly as easy as it use to be some years ago. At 73 with a bad back, I've had to cut my time doing so, way down..☹️
  19. No experience with Bub's rod either, but very happy with all my other Irod gen.III rods.
  20. A little late, as I wasn't feeling so hot most of the day. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you folks, hoping everything is going well for you.
  21. Same here. The Irod Gen. III fish's way above the price points on these rods. And customer service is second to non, Matt is a great guy to deal with if need be. I should mention that these rods have EVA split grips.
  22. Yeah, that is quite the haul..
  23. While all the above is true. Got a be tough when you get old, nothing easy about it.
