Problem with BR loading..Anyone else get this.??
So, sometimes I get a Page can't be loaded, then slowly it will load. Other times it won't load. Also it seems to depend on what forum I want to view. This started yesterday 10/31. All the other sites I click on load up fast..I wonder if any of you folks are having the same issue.

Just don't understand the way things are today
Typical case of ..No Pride in the Tribe...I've done a couple of jobs that about 1/2 through I realized that I underbid, I wound up making very little after paying everyone...Still, I finished the jobs doing my usual best. I was booked for a long time and could have breezed through the job..But..................you never know what the future has in store.

Post a photo a day!
Here's hoping your little guy gets better Fast..No fun for young un's to be laid up.

What technique would you teach to a beginner angler?
I'd agree with the other guys that said a T rigged worm, or whatever..This technique if taught properly will give the beginner imho more skills, than just throwing a chuck and wind type of bait. It may not be as much fun, but in the long run, he or she will be grateful down the road.

Baitcaster Line help
I would re spool each reel with whatever lb test your conditions require, and the type of line. Generally on a baitcaster you want at least 10lb ( mono or Fluro) Braid 30 lb minimum..You can go up from there. 12 to 14 lb is a good all around choice. I say this because, you don't know how old the line is, nor the condition of the line. So, better to be safe than sorry.

Foregrip or no foregrip?
All my rods have a short fore grip. As far as not having one, I keep in contact with the line with my finger, so it really doesn't matter. Personally I think a short fore grip looks good vs none.

A bird stole my swimbait!
Yeah, when those type of birds are hungry, they are Relentless..

What could I have done differently?
Kiethec paddletail with an underspin. 2" Easy shinner.

Type of line for frogging
I'd suggest braid at least 40lb. I like the Seaguar smackdown in grey stealth@50lb for clear water. And yes a 12 to 14" bass will certainly eat a 2 1/2 " anything, and bigger..lol BTW, welcome to BR...There are some awesome bass fishermen on here, which = lots of good info..

Storing Drop Shot setup
You can make this simple. TW has these keepers, on the slotted side you can run the line in it with the weight attached, slide the keeper down till it's taught, and wa la..The guys on taticalbassin use these also. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Cal_Coast_Fishing_Cali_Clip_Hook_Keeper/descpage-CALICP.html

A bird stole my swimbait!
A few years ago, I was fishing a trout 3:16 wake bait..and this one Osprey kept trying to dive bomb it. At 150.00 I wasn't about to let that bird grab it. I switched to a sub surface trout swimbait, and guess what, the Osprey came after it too..I love predatory birds, but I was getting kinda mad at that bird. We just moved on.

I see, all that would do is cost them $$$, but it seems they just don't care.

Just don't understand the way things are today
When I was working as a G.C...I did this very same thing. One year I bet I turned down 1/4 Million in work. I would even try and refer some folks to friends that were contractors. All this type of stuff is keeping folks happy, and setting up work in the future, as people remember that you took the time to make a call back, at least it did for me. All this about tradesmen not calling or showing up has been going on for years, it seems it's getting worse. And don't even get me started on the No shows..both re: helpers, and customers.

Do you guys complain to DSG when you get rods that are broken..? I assume you would, I know I would.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid
That sucks. Be sure to take any and all valuables out of your boat, cuz now they know anything left in there is for the taking..And yes, check all local craigs list ads, even the ones in the general forum, and sporting goods, only because they think you won't look there. Thieves are scum of the earth.

San Diego/Inland Empire Bass Fishing Locations
So, being that I have fished just about every L.A. and O.C park lake/pond, I can without a doubt say that having to make long cast's all the time is not needed, in fact, a lot of times I make a pitch of maybe 20 to 25 yards parallel, or at a slight angle to the shore line. The bass you see in my avatar was caught doing that very same thing, she went about 7 lbs, in the middle of a warm sunny day without any wind on 6lb fluro, bait was plastic.. The only lures I would make long cast's with are..6" and bigger swimbaits, 1/2 oz and heavier spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, and sometimes topwater (spooks, ect). Also, I've caught many bass, 3lbs and up about 3 to 6 feet from me while shore fishing. All this would apply to any high pressure park lake. The KEY to catching Bass in these lakes is Experience, learning the nuances of the body of water, meaning any structure that it has, i.e. shopping cats tossed in there, milk crates, chucks of concrete, and any vegetation, if any. Example, there is a park lake we use to fish all the time, in one of the lakes, about 18 to 20 yards from dry land, someone has tossed, drug, or in some way got a 55 gal drum/barrel out there, guess what it did...held some good size bass. These things are learned from time fishing, making friends with long time locals, ect. I will say this, imho, these park lakes/ponds are the most difficult to catch quality fish for a few reasons, unlike fishing from a boat. Both can be challenging, not saying having a boat even with electronics is easy, but it does improve your chances. If post's like these help new anglers, great, but you need to get out and do it.

Tough Times And Tackle
I can recall, many, many....years ago when I had a 2 pc cherrywood spinning rod, with a close to the bottom of the line diawa reel on it. Caught tons of fish on it, including a few 10lb Bonita, some checkers ans spotties. I used that set up for oh..at least 3 or 4 yrs..Having the latest and greatest is nice, but not required to have a good time catching fish.

Has it gotten easier?
Compared to 40 years ago...I'd say it's now easier to learn a given technique, but unlike years ago, there are many more options, which as already said, can be confusing to a new angler. We didn't have in the internet back then, only magazines to go by, then you had to get out and try and perfect a given technique..I recall doing nothing but fishing a texas rigged worm for many months. I fished at a lake where Don Iovino use to fish, and I'd watch him from a distance, trying to pick up tips. I wound up buying some worms from him that he use to pour, great guy. Anyway, I think if newer folks would pick a presentation and work on it for awhile, they would be better served, vs trying 5 or more things to begin with.

Weekends is the Worst time to fish Laguna Niguel.. Someone needs to call the DFG re: people using blue gills for bait. Get their ph # and put it on speed dial, call when you see a violation..

Split Handle vs. Solid Cork Handle?
So, if you Remove material from a rod, how is that not saving weight..? Or am I missing something..?

Do bigger bass bite more in the fall?
Nope, big girls bit in all seasons...Just have to find em, figure out which bait to use, and have fun..
