I live with this superstition on every trip: It's easier to catch fish when in the boat than it is when under the boat.

Yes you need a license to fish in Florida. Without sneaking around the only fishing in Disney lakes is "pay to fish". It's quite exspensive.

Almost every trip over the last couple of months has yielded a bass of 7 pounds or greater. Today while talking with the biologists our shocking my client nailed a 7 pound lady. I weighed in on the Boga and the biologists weighed it on their scale for comparison - exactly the same. Big fish in my boat in the last month period has been 8.5 however a friend nailed a 10.3. Most fish are being caught on 5" Senkos. Note that I said Senko and not Senko knockoff. There is a lol of coons tail in the south end of the lake - "Farm side" Look for fish to be located in the grass. I have stopped putting up daily reports. However I can be called at any time.

Healthy recipe for bass: The healthiest recipe for bass starts when they are freshly caught. First and of most importance is carefully remove the hook. Next hold the bass by the tail with an extended arm over the side of the boat and remove any grass from its mouth. Then carefully open your hand and let the bass drop softly into the water. Now you can stop worrying about mercury levels, toxic fertilizer runoff, and after preparation clean-up.

Obviously the time needed to meet the goals of the producer can vary greatly. I've done it in two days and I've gone as long as five days. OLN, (now Versus), did a show on Stick Marsh with me that involved a total of 48 hours, (five days), with 22 hours of filming for a 22 minute show. It all depends on how weather, catch, and so on, come into play.

Hopefully as you fish your lake you have not only answered the "where" question, but also the why, and when. I have placed lake areas into the answer areas of, where, when, and why. This history is very good history. If I only fished that area in which I can only answer the "where" question, then fishing that history might prove unfruitful. Even with the three critical questions answered you just might strike out, so be armed with the knowledge to search similar but unknown areas. Seasons, structure, cover, transient areas, and special events should be all part of your historical knowledge. If they are then by all means fish the history. By the way: nothing is as good as local information - don't be afraid to ask!

How can you tell the gender of a largemouth bass? By looking at the bass in your hand. As a general rule the vent or scaleless urogenital opening in a male largemouth bass tends to be more circular in appearance while the opening in a female largemouth tends to be more elliptical. Having said this, however, I should hasten to note that few biologists or fisheries managers rely on this method of determining the sex of a fish, because even to the well trained eye it results too often in mis-identification. Instead, at least during the spawning season, a much more reliable method of determining the sex of mature fish is to gently push on the fish's belly, back toward the tail. When you do this properly, you will often see a white milky substance (milt) flow from a male bass while a few eggs will be evident from a female fish. Beyond this very seasonal method, however, it is extremely difficult to distinguish between male and female largemouth bass. The only possible exception is when you catch a particularly large fish.
