  1. Between the 2 clubs I fish in we fish about 5 or 6 night tournaments a year. We fish these in the dead of summer when the lakes are crazy during the day. Start at 9:00 pm and fish till 7:00am. Seem to have the best luck on black spinner baits, black worms and black buzzbaits. I also do well on green pumpkin. Once the lake calms down, we find fish in all the same spots we have found them during the slower days. Just before first light.......HANG ON.....lol Fish now, sleep later, Snag
  2. I've never had a fish tell me I stink, lol, but I do use a garlic or crawfish scent on plastics. I seem to have better luck somedays and other days it dosen't really matter. Later all, Snag
  3. Bassmaster and FLW magazines worked wonders for me last year. This year the only difference is that I am getting great information from this site also. There are alot of people here that have alot of information to share. I have learned alot and I thank each and every one of you. Tight lines, Snag
  4. Only about 53 days, give or take, until us poor people here in the midwest can get the boats out. woooooooo hoooooooo, come on spring. lol Snag
  5. Only about 60 days give or take a few until the boats hit the water around here. ;D But who's counting..................ME!!!!!!!!! lol
  6. Since I fish in 2 bass clubs (3 this year) I have to buy an Ohio $16, Indiana $24, Michigan $25 and Canada $44, every year. Add those up each year and it's still cheaper than replacing $5,000+ in rods, reels and tackle and $24,000 or more for a boat lol..... Hook 'em hard, Snag
  7. The one club I belong to holds Wednesday night tournaments. We are located in NW Ohio. They are open team tournaments. We fish in NE Indiana and SE Michigan. $10 per boat and $1 big bass. No big money but alot of fun. If you live in the area and are looking for a small club to join, both of our clubs are taking new members. I am also starting a Midwest Sportsman Circuit in the Angola/Fremont Indiana area. This will be for bigger money and a great classic in the fall. Tight lines, Snag
  8. Welcome, pull up a chair and cast a line. Alot of information to be had here. You won't be disapointed. Basst of luck, Snag
  9. The one club I belong to holds a Kids Day every year and we have raffles and lots of prizes. It takes a couple of years to get one of those events off the ground but we have about 150 + kids every year now. Also, I arranged to have St. Vincents Life Flight to come in last year and it was a huge success. They brought books, stickers and things for the kids. They love to do things like that. You would be suprised how many other donations you can get from business owners for something like that to help make it bigger. Sell 50/50 tickets too. The kids fish for 4 hours and we give rod and reel combos to the top 10 in each age group. All the prizes are bought with donations. Hope that helps, it's great to watch them. Hook them on fishing and hopefully it keeps them out of trouble. Hope this helps, Snag
  10. I saw him today doing the O'Boy Alberto Red Fish Tournament today. Hope somebody gets him, he's good. Snag

  12. Way to go crankbait...wooooooooo hooooooooo lol... Keep them comming Snag
  13. I usually wait untill I see my line move and feel dead weight then I give a good solid hook set (not to hard) and keep a tight line all the way in keeping my rod tip down a bit to keep the fish in the water. I have lost very few fish this way but there is always the ones that get away. I want to get the hook through the mouth of the fish but I don't want to rip their lips off lol... Tight lines, Snag
  14. I have found myself to be addicted. My partner talked me into going ice fishing and I thought, what the hell, it's fishing right? I think he got kinda upset with me though becuase I kept tipping the ice shanty every time I tried to cast that 1/2 oz. rattle trap into that little hole. Let me tell ya, it's not easy to cast a 6 1/2 foot rod in a tiny shanty. I don't know how these guys do it. Actually, I have a calander counting the days until March 28 or so. I just tear off one for each day, by the way it's 73 days away lol.... Basst of luck, Snag
  15. I'm sure it will get some other "Money Seakers" on the prowl for free money. That is so terrible that it is so easy to sue anybody for anything anymore. Makes you wonder whats next. Do you know how many times I've spilled hot coffee in my lap in my truck or on the boat? It ain't fun but it's my fault lol... Basst of luck all, Snag
  16. I liked my Motor Guide when I first got it but the last couple of years I have put it through "heck" and back and it is getting kind of rough. Anyone know if I can mount a Minn Kota up in the same holes as the motor guide? I don't want to drill more holes in my boat if I don't have to but I want it to be attached good. I beat it to a pulp on Erie, St. Clair and Detroit River. Thanks for your help, Snag
  17. Anyone from NW Ohio, NE Indiana or SE Michigan that wants to join a bass club? Ft. Defiance Bass Anglers and Williams County Anglers are always looking for new members. We are in the process of setting our 2005 schedules so if anyone is interested you can send me a message or e-mail me. We fish the tri-state area. Basst of luck, Snag

  20. Can someone set me up with some good articles on drop shotting? I keep saying I'm going to try it and I never do becuase I'm not real confident on how. Thanks all, Snag
  21. Fattdaddy; I want to thank you for putting that hawg back. I think it's great that you put him back. Some little kid could be out with grandpa and tie into that fish and he'll be hooked for life. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an activist but I do think we have to do all we can to keep the bass alive and well. Thumbs up to ya, Snag
