  1. If you didn't catch them after that for 2 hours then a few things could have happened. 1. The group of fish you were catching became inactive, which I would bet was the case 2. They moved. Not so much vertically but horizontally. They could have gone deeper in the cover or spread out. If you stopped catching them, try changing from a jig to maybe a worm like the *** Finesse worm or Hookup worm. If that didn't work, you could try and make them react by ripping a lipless crank through them like the Spro Aruku Shad. If the above failed I would throw a jerkbait over the tops of the trees to see if I could get the fish that were higher in the water column. If that doesn't work, then move on and hit the spot later in the day to try and see if you can hit them again when they are more active.
  2. The new Bronzeye Popper is an awesome bait! It is a completely different design than the popping scumfrog. The bait sits in the water differently and it walks way easier. The action is alot more erratic which in my opinion triggers more strikes. You have an endless color scheme to match the hatch if they are feeding on frogs or gills or shad. The body is super soft so it collapses easier and once they are stuck with those stupid sharp dual Gamakatsu hooks, there is no chance of them coming off.
  3. I wanna know how in the heck your finding fish in 20ft of water when your temps are 58-60. Anyway, post front fish tend to hold extremely tight to cover for a day or two after, so I jig or worm fished dead slow can get you bites. Sometimes after a front they will suspend over cover, and that's where your jerkbaits are gonna come in to play.
  4. Ever since February, I have pretty much thrown a Duper Fluke exclusively.
  5. How are you fishing these straight tail worms? Weightless? On a shakyhead? T-rigged w/bullet weight? All of the above? It really doesn't matter how you rig them, just don't move them much. Make sure you are confident that the fish are in the area you are fishing. When you know they are there, it helps you to be able to slow down as much as you need to.
  6. Jerkbaits and soft plastics, both fished extremely slow. I only fish straight tailed worms, but if you use ribbontails, then a cold front is when you have to throw the straight tails.
  7. My laptop screen now has a beautiful coating of half chewed chicken. LOL

The big difference for me is the wire thickness on the hook. The finesse jig's hook is way thinner and when I'm making long casts across deep structure, I want a thinner hook so it penetrates the fish's mouth easier even if my line stretches from the distance.

I think I'm gonna place an order in the next day or two. I was looking for that color but didn't see it. Has he renamed it? Heres the link so you don't have to bother finding it yourself http://www.custombassfishinglures.com/index.php/finesse-jigs He doesn't list it because it's only made for me. I don't want the competition throwing my secret color! Just send him an email or pm asking for the Senko77 Special and he will know what it is. Keep it quiet ;D

Hey T-rage. Gmans Jigs are where it's at. I have won some fat paychecks fishing his 5/16oz finesse jig with a wire tie in the "senko77 special" color. Give them a try. They are the best value in the jig market.
  11. The B's are gonna continue to roll. I hope they play the Ducks in the finals.
  12. It's all about bed fishing at Lanier right now. My buddy has been catching numerous 7lb larries off bed the last week. Come up to Hammonds Tackle today from 11-4. We are having customer appreciation day today and a bunch of real good Lanier anglers are gonna be there to give advice on the lake. Hammonds is on Browns Bridge Rd. off of GA-400.
  13. Keep throwing the same baits you have been catching them on, just change up your technique. If your dragging a worm, try slowing it down, or speeding it up with aggressive hops. Another thing to consider when fish are biting is location of the bass in the water column. Fish that were actively feeding in 8ft of water might be shut off, but fish in 15ft might be on fire. Also, if your fishing on the bottom, bring your soft plastic in with a "swimming" retrieve. I can't tell you how many times I have been worm fishing and a fish hits it when I'm reeling in for another cast. This shows me they are suspended and I can throw a jerkbait, crankbait, or senko at them. Good luck dude!
  14. Nice fish Nick! Hopefully we can get some more like that when we fish this fall!
  15. You gotta feel bad for the Habs. Their defense had it real nice in game 3 without Lucic wrecking them everytime the Bruins dumped it in the zone, now they will be swept tonight on home ice AND Lucic is back..... If Lucic fights Laraque tonight, I will shave my head
  16. Avid, I didn't read any of the replies so I don't know if this has already been said, but try rubbing some wax on the first 3ft of line above the line tie of the Sammy. The best to use is called "sex wax" It's the wax surfers use on their surf and skim boards. You can find it online or in any of the beach gift stores. The wax will keep the line floating and you should be able to race the Sammy back in without any problems at all.
  17. Aruku Shad or a Duper Fluke on a Swarming Hornet.
  18. When you take out the BB's, try adding 1 tungsten carbide ball to the inside of the bait
  19. Nice fish T-rig. Those things are some footballs.
  20. Red, because with it, you have all 3 primary colors. A black dye would be awesome though.
  21. By far the easiest bait to skip is a senko type bait like the *** Trick Stick, but my favorite bait to skip is a 1/16oz shaky head or a 5/16oz jig that Gman pours for me.
  22. By far my favorite memories of the trip are 1. getting to say the word "pea gravel" 100000 times 2. specifically spinnerbaits for spots, smallies, and shoalies 3. burley's photography
  23. If your asking for bait markers, then I'm not sure what direction to point you, but if you are looking for soft plastic dyes then JJ's Magic is the only way to go.
  24. What a fantastic trip! I only got to stay for 2 days but it was great. We have a great bunch of guys/girls here and some darn good anglers. Hope everyone got home safe and I can't wait till next year.
  25. Tough to say because of the perspective, but that thing is fat
