Mattlures question...
Also, have you been lubing up your baits when your throwing them?

Mattlures question...
Matt, you've had several hits over the last months. That's swimbait fishing. If your in honest pursuit of that state record, then you should be thrilled about the hits you have gotten, because one day your gonna hook up with one and you will have your new pb and possible state record. Also realize that you have been fishing it at the coldest months, and the fish were sluggish. Now that you are starting to get warmer weather, the fish can have a little more aggression in them when they lock onto your bait. Just keep chunkin and even though I love mattlures, why not throw some different swimbaits like the ABT wagtail or the Mattlures Babybass or the New California Swimbabes Hot Momma? Also, the Baby Bass can definately be thrown on a 6'6" MH. I throw the Mattlures Gill on the 7' MH and the rod barely has a bow in it when I cast. Just make sure he uses 17lb or higher line

4/17/07--What do they weigh?
I couldn't begin to tell you the weight of the fish, but I would say it would be a safe guess to say that sweet rod/reel combo weighs less than 2oz you've got some awesome combos dan!

State Your RAIN GEAR 101
Definately listen to LBH and RW. From all there posts you can tell that there both real knowledgeable in North Face and Cabelas, who both make awesome raingear. I have alot of experience with the Bass Pro raingear because I had work there and I got to learn everything about it all. DO NOT GET THE 100 m.p.h. suits. If you like feeling like your wearing a suit of armor then it's the rain setup for you. I currently use and love the Pro-Qualifier line. I really love it, but I also really loved it because my employee discount slashed 40% off the price. If your going to get one from BPS then Pro-Qualifier is the way to go. From everybody's raingear I've seen, North Face seems to have the best stuff. They actually put effort into making it comfortable. Like LBH said, make sure it's flexible in the spots that need to flex and also, be sure to get a perfect fit. It took me over an hour to finally settle on the right size. Your spending alot of money, so take the time to make them fit good rather than uncomfortably.

Global Warming And Effect On Fishing
Spinnerbaitshogun, those are some great points and that was a great post. I agree with Trout, I really like these threads, but people get mad and offended by the smallest things

Muddy Water Shakey Head Question
Loomis - Bass pick up baits alot better than we give them credit for in my opinion. If they couldn't see in muddy water, how could they pick up the sound of a crawdad slowly crawling on a muddy bottom, or a shad lightly flicking it's tail while it's slowly swimming by? Just think of how quite the bass's prey is and that will tell you that they can and will find your worm in muddier water. The only difference that I do to the worm in muddy water is that I shake it alot more. When I fish clear water I mostly drag it slow and dead stick it. That tail will kick a good bit if you shake and they will pick it up in a hurry. Ceph - In practice, everyone was throwing black/blue and junebug, and redbug. I thought, if they will hit that, then they will hit green. I throw green 99% of the time and that's where my confidence was. All those guys were catching fish on black/blue and junebug because they were throwing a worm, not because the fish liked that color better. Fish your confidence and you will catch more fish. Hope this helps

Muddy Water Shakey Head Question
For weight, I usually only throw a 3/32 or 1/8oz and if I go deeper than 25-30ft which is rare, then I go to a 1/4oz. For line I only use 6 or 8lb and the only worm I throw is the zoom trick worm or the zoom finesse worm.

Muddy Water Shakey Head Question
I had a BFL at Lake Oconee a few weeks ago. The visibility was inches and I came in 2nd place with 13-05. All my fish were caught using a 3/32oz picasson shakedown jighead and a watermelon/green flake trick worm. Yes, shaky heads work extremely well in muddy water.

How to fish a cold snap after bedding has started
Chris, since the bass here are already locked onto there beds, when a front blows through, they may leave the beds, they just wont go far. For some reason, all the beds I have been seeing this year are SUPER shallow. Look for the first breakline off the bed and your fish will be there. It doesn't have to be a big depth drop. I'm talking 10ft from the bed it might drop from 3ft to 5ft. That spot is where most of your efforts should be concretrated on. I will be throwing a splitshot rigged trick worm and jighead/trick worm every time I am out this week and most of the time they will be deadsticked or just barely twitched along the bottom Hope this helps you out.

what is more important...
Dave, personally I would go with the two new reels. Those will allow you to cast farther, and they have a better drag system. Both aspects are critical in fishing that gin-clear water you live on. I would get the reels, and then save up again and upgrade the rods. The reel is always more important to me, but thats just my opinion. hope this helps in your decision

finnese worms jig trailers
not trying to hi-jack the thread, but has anyone ever thought of using a split tail spinnerbait trailer as a jig trailer? I would think it would look awesome on a swimming jig, and i imagine they might look less intimidating to a pressured fish.

Reading Test.....Can you pass it?
ROFLMAO!!

Most annyoing things?
Man I hear ya Other. L337 speak tickS me off. I don't play any computer games other than playing starcraft once in awhile, but L337 really is just so unecessary. What annoys me most is when you find out that your girlfriend you have had for almost 2 years has been completely untruthful the entire time and has dragged you around with her because she craves attention, and then she just leaves you in a harsh, coldhearted way for a guy that she has liked behind your back. That one seems to get at me.

One that just won't catch 'em
Spinnerbaits. I have caught very few fish on them. I will fish an area with them, and then go back through with a crankbait and wipe up the fish. I think its half/half. Some baits aren't as effective as others, but confidence has alot to do with it. You can't catch a fish on something if the whole time your thinking it wont work. I think this has to do alot with Rick Clunn's article on Quantum physics, which has kinda changed the way I am attitude wise on the water.

New PB on 4lb Test
Thats an awesome fish!! I love playing fish on light line. How long did you fight her for? You should see what the Georgia record is for 4lb line and make it a goal to one day have that record. You can definately have an autograph...but it will be $5. Your son-in-law Gene still owes me $10 because I signed something for his wife and son!! Just kiding just kidding ;D Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Elliott trip!! It's gonna be so fun
