  1. X2 bro. Those two movies are amazing. A few more that are up with superbad in the "funniness" catagory are 40 year old virgin, and knocked up.
  2. Even though I am not from there, and am by no means a swimbait expert, I can tell you that they will definately work in the midwest. Swimbaits are not limited to Cali. We are using them here in Georgia with massive success. Hopefully Randall will post on this thread so he can show his evidence about them working on other places than the California lakes. They work in Georgia, California, Florida, Rhode Island, Texas, basically, anywhere there are bass. If you are just starting to throw swimbaits, then I suggest you go with smaller ones to begin with. Try the Mattlures bluegill or the new Huddleston Shad. Get to know how swimbaits feel, then move up to the bigger ones like the Huddleston Deluxe or the Tru-Tungsten Tru-Life swimbait. Hope you stick a pig with em!
  3. It would be awesome to get that feature back. I have to open two Internet pages so I can have one with the pm and one with the reply I'm typing.
  4. Another thing to with the boots to consider is the bottom of them. Are you fly fishing in a stream? If so, make sure you get the felt bottomed ones because when felt gets wet, it will grip the algae covered rocks where rubber bottomed boots will make you feel like your on an ice rink.
  5. I'm with Redline on this one. It has always been a dream of mine to catch a Golden Dorado. Maybe one day....
  6. The Curado 100d is what I'm using for the smaller stuff and it's absolutely fantastic. But the TD Sol and the Chronarch 50mg are great reels for the light stuff too but cost a little more than the Curado
  7. No prob. Did you get them with heavy gear, or where you haulin in with a spinning rod and light line?
  8. Gorgeous worms Triton. Those are gonna slay some lethargic winter bass!
  9. Good lord!!!! I don't think my mind would be able to process catching to DD's in one day. Congrats on your massive success!!!
  10. When I first joined this site, I was a self proclaimed "senko master"...wow how wrong I was. ;D The 77 was Ray Borques number. He was the Boston Bruins Captain and was traded to the Avalanche where he won the Stanley Cup after 21 years in the NHL. His hard work and determination is what I have always tried to imitate in anything I do. He is who I consider one of my heroes.
  11. IMHO Yes. The only complaint I have on this jig is what pretty much everyone else says, and that's the rattle. It's bulky and I think in some cases can impede the hookset. It sure is loud, but personally, I don't think rattles make alot of difference. As far as the hook, skirt, jighead, and weedgaurd goes, it's all topnotch. If you want a nice jig, you have to pay a little more money. The same goes for rods, reels, crankbaits, etc. Just some advice, usually when I take it out of the package, I do the normal modifications. I trim the skirt to about 1/8" below the bend of the hook in an angled fashion, and I trim the weedgaurd like a set of stairs. There really isn't a reason to sharpen the hook as it comes out of the package needle sharp. Hope this helps
  12. Like Raul said, the Sol and 50mg would work very well. If that is out of your price range, then try the Curado 100d like Anthony said. I own one and absolutely love it. It casts a weightless trick worm extremely well.
  13. Go get em Erik. About 2 years ago I weighed about 230 at my heaviest and I was about 5'5". I'm now 6ft even and weigh 160. The biggest thing for me was settling in and not looking for immediate results. Gradual results are hard to see, so take a picture of yourself now and look at it in 2 or 3 months. We're here for you if you need any help staying locked on your goal. You CAN do it and I know you will
  14. 1. I've used them a few times. I had good success with them, I just never really got into them. All my fish caught with them were fishing them texas rigged and hopped around submereged cover. 2. I never use trailers on spinnerbaits, and on the rare occasion that I throw a spinnerbait, I usually have one on unless I'm fishing grassy areas. I think the trailer hook really really helps. 3. I've never really had any success on them Texas rigged, but I do occasionally use them as a jig trailer. 4. I mainly use a 5/16oz finesse jig. I put long, streamlined trailers on it the warmer the water will get so I will get a slower fall, but in winter I add another skirt and a big, bulky trailer like the baby brush hog or GYCB flappin hog to slow the fall WAY down. Good luck
  15. way to go bb! I bet that's a 6lber all day. solo shots have alot of difficulty showing the true size of a fish, bocabasser. congrats on the trophy!
  16. wow. im speechless about the pic and the fish. CONGRATS AVID!!
  17. Wow. That's all I can think of to say. The decisions made by B.A.S.S. over the last year or two have really blown my mind. I just renewed my subscription to Bassmaster, but I will be sending them an email immediately following this post to cancel it. That is just unbelievable. I guess this just makes FLW look that much better. Luckily my Jr. club is FLW affiliated. Shame on you ESPN >

The Rat-L-Trap is definately one of my top producing lures. I always have them tied on. They're the perfect search bait and they catch just as many big fish as little. I had a tournament last July that I won by only throwing a 1/2oz Rat-L-Trap in the Diamond Dust pattern. My limit was anchored by a 8.19lb pig which is my biggest lipless crankbait fish to date. Congrats on all the success with the new bait and new rod and reel. It's sweet to catch a bunch of fish on a new setup isn't it!
  19. Thanks for the encouraging words everyone Rolo, the beer keg has been added
  20. ;D Thanks for the post Russ. It has been an awesome season and I have been truly blessed. I WISH YOU WERE GOING TO GUNTERSVILLE YA MOOK!
  21. The UA Stretch glove is what I wear under my pair of gloves from Cabelas. I don't know what they're called, but they are $30, thin, warm, and they have Gore-Tex. The entire combo was $55 but kept me warm all the time. I have used this combo for over a year now and they still haven't worn out on me.
  22. cold, muddy water. hands down. this is the only condition where before I start I already know I'm probably going to blank.
  23. That site is so cool. Thanks for sharing. I've been playing since I first looked at this post 20 minutes ago. Also, high school students, I just got done with the SAT and there are words on FreeRice that are on the test.
  24. bocabasser - it's seems that you have an extremely positive aura, because most people have bad experiences with BPS. I'm done bashing them, but I've seen them at the worst when I was an employee and LuckyinKentucky has every right to be mad.
  25. This is going to be my last post in this thread because I can see tempers possibly flaring up. LuckyK went and saw the combos today. They are not the official Pro Qualifier, but more like putting a Bionic Blade rod with a Extreme reel which is still a good combo, but IMO is nowhere near a true Pro Qaulifier. I think putting the PQ name on a cheaper product is shady but atleast everyone who reads this thread has this knowledge and can make there own decision. I really hope what LuckyinKentucky saw with the individual wrapping is true for all the Bass Pro Shops now. I just caution you to inspect the rod closely before you buy it. If you see a small streak and the coloration is "blurred" or "blemished" it's most likely that it has hit something. Also, apply some pressure to the tip of the rod and to all the guides. If it pasts that initial test, most likely it hasn't been abused. Also, hang on to those receipts. BPS has an EXCELLENT warranty program and as long as you have the receipt or you have it recorded on your rewards card, they will exchange the rod or reel no questions ask for 1 year from the date of purchase if it breaks. Hope this helps and happy holiday money spending
