adjusting bc for fluoro?
I agree with DVT's remark above. When I spool a BC reel with nothing but fluoro and then go back and put it on the rod, the last few loops often seem to try to "jump off" the reel. After placing the reel on the rod and tying on a lure, I always pull off some line to remove any slack from the spooled fluoro and then reel it back tight. I would almost bet that this is your issue.

Power pro
I used Power Pro at one time. It was a great line. I never lost a fish due to it breaking off. I have since found other braids I like better, but for minor reasons that really aren't that huge. The differences aren't as big as some make them out to be, in my opinion. Power Pro may be outdated but it still works fine for what it is intended to do and at a lower price. Affordability has nothing to do with frugality for many people. Some people buy what they believe to be the most benefit for the buck whether they can afford a slightly better product or not.

line to line knot
I used to do Uni to uni for the longest. After reading John's many posts about the Alberto knot I've started using it. It is much quicker and easier to tie than doing a uni to uni. Last weekend was the first test in a brush-filled lake. I got hung up twice where I had to break off and the Alberto knot held strong. The break occurred in other sections of the fluoro leader which is what I wanted to see.

Cavitron Buzz Baits
I always use a trailer hook on buzzbaits, including Cavitrons, and I fish some real slop. With buzzbaits it isn't that difficult to avoid fouling the stinger because the stinger is generally pointing upwards away from the slop in most cases.

Fishing on the rocks?
Are you fishing Concordia lake (Edwin A Pape Lake)? I fished a 55 acre lake last weekend about 40 miles north of KC and surface water temperatures were 39 - 43. Concordia Lake is 240 - 250 acres if I remember correctly. I suspect you will be fishing similar temperatures though we are supposed to have about three warm days between now and then. If you don't find them up shallow you may need to make some long casts to reach the deeper drop-offs with some slower presentations like jigs and jerkbaits.

Elites= Athletes?
It's all a semantic argument. We all agree on the skills and the fatigue involved in a four day tournament which doesn't compare to some sports requiring a much higher level of physical conditioning. By book definition, they are athletes. Otherwise, what difference does it make? They fish for bass and they are highly skilled at it. That about covers it. Define them as you wish.

Elite Series begins March 10th
At least for one event Shaw is on top of the AOY standings. He really ran off with this one. I also see Rick Clunn has placed 11th. A couple of the old guys made a good showing this week.

Shaw Grigsby nailed 29 lbs 8 oz today and leads by 8 lbs over Van Dam. Wow. I haven't seen Grigsby in this position in quite some time.

Massive quake, tsunami ravage Japan
I've been checking the news on this all day. An 8.9 magnitude quake is just freaking huge. Catt, maybe this will give you some hope. This is a quote from a CNN article at the following link: http://www.cnn.com/2011/WORLD/asiapcf/03/11/japan.quake/index.html?hpt=T1&iref=BN1

Girls are crazy...
Speed, you're following this one pretty close. Do you perhaps have a little Bieber Fever? ;D I gotta say, the kid has command over "of age" girls as well. Respect. ;D Yes, he does. On Saturday Night Live a few weeks back both he and Dana Carvey were guests. Church Lady was hot to trot for the Bieber.

Which worm floats best for a shaky head?
The Strike King 3X Elaztech Finesse worms float better than any worm I have used. They can be a pain to rig though. Like CWB said, heat up the cork screw keeper on a screwlock jig and the job will be easier.

Fishing Confidence
Confidence or the power of belief is a good thing. Confidence leads us to keep thinking of ways to solve the puzzle and then we act on it and magic happens. In and of itself, without action it is useless.
