Latest Winners in Pinnacle's "Sneak Peak" Perfecta Rod Giveaway (Phase 4)
Pinnacle1 I have a question for you, I was reading the review for the Perfecta Rods on Tackle Tour and I read that these rods will come with a limited lifetime warranty when they come out. Im assuming the contest winners are going to receive this warranty, but on tackle tour, it says you'll need proper proof of purchase, will the winners have or get this proof if, for some reason, the warranty offer is needed? Thanks

Glenwood Park, West Virginia
Im heading to this park called Glenwood Recreation Park in a couple weeks for a family reunion and saw there was a 55 acre lake, was thinking about doing some shore fishing (if possible). Anyone on here know anything about this area or specific lake? I believe it is in Princeton, West Virginia

Chickahominy River
I fished the lake 2 weeks ago (not as recent of a report but may help). Our most productive areas were the big patches of cypress trees (near the creek mouths), the oddly large or combined trees with some shade cover are the ones that seem to hold the fish. Wacky rigged senkos, finesse worms and trick worms in darker colors (green pumpkin and pumpkinseed were producing well for us that day) seemed to be the most productive with some action on white chatterbaits being bounced off submerged wood. Some of our fish were caught by buzzing soft plastic toads across the top of the grass mats. Were catching fish in mostly the 2-3lb range, but in the creek, like Micro said, we lost a 5+ pounder. Ill be out there this week also. Let me know how you do, Good luck!

Fishing drop offs
Im heading back to a local river tommorow where I recently found a noticable drop off and was wondering what you guys would throw in this spot. It goes from about 6' of water with a clay/grassy bottom to a 14-17' of water with a pea gravel bottom. From what I can tell my working a lure along the bottom (no fish finder in the jon boat), it is a distinct drop off so I think it may hold some fish. The width of the river in this section is fairly narrow, about 30 feet id say. I worked the area good with a drop shot rig and had one bite as I was pulling it back up to make another cast, but none on the bottom. What would you guys throw? Crankbait or spinnerbait maybe?

Quick Live well system
sorry to barge into your thread, but I have a question. My livewell in my tracker (1990), I have 1 pump that brings in water and at the top of the well, theres a drain that leads out of the boat. So gravity is what is taking the water out of the livewell. Is this gonna be a reliable system or should I install a pump to take out water?

Direct me to a floating worm!
For a smaller profile, the Strike King 3X finesse worms are true floating worms.

How do my old spinning reels compare to those of today?
Just recently bought a new spinning setup that im very happy with. I got a Shimano Saros 3000F matched with a Shimano Clarus (CSS-X66MA). The rod also has a lifetime warranty which is nice. The setup is very light and sensitive, I recommend the rod and reel.

Deck addition to 14' Jon *Pics*
Those darker colored strips are not PT'd, they have turned that color while sitting in a wood pile at my house, they still had the print and sticker on it and I made sure it wasn't PT'd before I put it in because I was aware of the effect it had. The lighter ones are new boards. And to me, the 1x2's are holding up quiet well, im able to walk across and stand on the supports with little to no flex or give, I think they will work fine, ill let you know if they dont.

The only foam that was in the boat when I got it was under the very front seat, and that was so torn up and broke up I threw it out. Im trying to find some foam that isnt to expensive, I saw some in the West marine catalog but it was a lot more than I would want to spend. Any suggestions on some that is fairly cheap?

Deck addition to 14' Jon *Pics*
After seeing all the boat restorations on here I finally got all the wood and hardware to start working on adding a deck to the front on my jon. Ive put in a "makeshift" deck to the front before, but that finally gave in so I decided to do it right this time. When I got this boat, it was almost bare aluminum, so I put a coat of black paint on the outside and a gray paint on the inside (thought maybe this would keep down the heat). Here is a pic before any deck work was done, I removed the middle seat cover because im using that space for a storage compartment: After thinking, drawing on a pad, measuring, and a little bit of cutting as I go ;D , these are the first 2 support boards. Throughout this, I use 1x2 strips for most everything. I stumbled across these brackets in the garage that worked perfect for connecting the horizontal support boards to the front seat. They made the boards much more sturdy. When I felt the screws werent enough, I used 90o brackets to connect the vertical supports to the horizontal ones. At this point, I had ran a couple bolts through the middle seat into the vertical supports to constrain them to the floor. I also put the outside supports on, this was tricky because of the curved walls and required angled cuts on the vertical supports to get it to fit just right. I have been using 2 1/2" trim screws on the supports, the reason I chose trim screws, was because I could bury the heads flush into the boards so the deck sat evenly on all the boards instead of screw heads, just something I thought would work better. Here, I just added some more horizontal support boards for extra stability. This is where I finished tonight, I decided to line a section of the supports with plywood for a compartment I wanted. I didn't have the daylight to put a piece on the bottom of the compartment but I will do that tomorrow for a better look. Ill post more pics tommorow afternoon after I do some more work on it. The deck will extend from the very front of the boat to the back side of the middle seat. I want to put another compartment inside the middle seat also. I haven't decided if I need any wooden supports inside the middle seat or if the aluminum supports made into the boat will be enough to support the deck. Let me know what you guys think or if you have any suggestions or concerns with my build so far.

Jon Boat "Cart"
I need some ideas on transporting my jon boat from the truck to the water. I have no trailer for it, we just ratchet strap it in the back of the truck. A cart would also allow me to put everything in the boat and make one trip from the truck to the water, like battery and trolling motor. I tried a simple idea of a 2x4 with 2 wheels on the end but the boat seemed to slide across the board instead of with it. Anyone have any ideas they use?
