  1. The river I fish in has alot of logs and twigs that break the surface of the water. I have had some luck with senkos around this structure but I wanted to know if there could be any other lures that may produce better than senkos. I was thinkin a jig might be a good lure to use. What do you guys think?
  2. Yes, the leader would break before the braid. The reason i use braid is because I prefer casting with braid rather than mono or fluoro. I just feel its easier for me to cast, other people may not feel the same way about it, thats just my opinion.
  3. I have always used braid on my baitcasters, from open water to heavy cover, but I tie about a 3 foot fluoro leader. But before I used the leaders I used all braid and still caught fish, I guess it all depends, like they said before on the conditions of the water and how spooked the fish are when they see line.
  4. Has anyone used a Rhino Indestructible rod before? I have one of these that doesn't have a reel on it, could this serve as a good spinnerbait rod or no?
  5. When I use my spinnerbaits I catch alot of fish by letting them drop and hit the bottom every so often, would this make any difference in the type of rod I need to get? I want to make the right choice of the rod i get for my fishin style.
  6. I looked through previous threads and they didnt answer my question. I bought a reel with a 7.1:1 ratio and was gonna use it for spinnerbaits, i just need a decent rod for it. I was looking for something under $75 if thats possible.
  7. I wanted to try to Rapala knot on a crank, should I remove the split ring from the lure or no, or does it matter?
  8. Has anyone used P-Line Floroclear? The line has a fluorocarbon coating but not 100% floroucarbon, so how is the line visibality? Also, is this a good line to spool and entire baitcaster with? Or should i just use it as a leader? Thanks
  9. Strike King series 3 in the firetiger color
  10. Any VA people here that have fished the Mattaponi? I saw alot of bass boats out on the river and I was thinking about going up there to fish since it aint to far from home. I was gonna put the boat in at the ramp off of Walkerton Road ( dont know the name of the ramp ).
  11. Alumacraft makes some boats that are similar to the Trackers
  12. I use the Zoom Super Flukes in their bubblegum color, with a 3/0 gamakatus EWG. I also fish the double fluke rig that mimics 2 bait fish
  13. thanks for all the suggestion. Sam, I tried a cinnamon colored trick worm, im not sure if i was fishing it correct though. Whats the best way to fish a trick worm?
  14. Was looking for products or ways to clean the aluminum hull of a Bass Tracker. Im trying to remove the stains from where it has been sitting a while without damaging the aluminum. Thanks.
  15. I was fishing today in a narrow section (about 40 yards wide) of the Chickahominy river today and all the lures I used were unsuccessful. Most of the water is covered in lily pads, thick lily pads. Around the shore is either small trees growing over into the water or fallen timber. The average depth is around 5 feet and is kind of muddy. I tried everything from crankbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, frogs, poppers, jerk baits and more, none of them produced anything. I know its kinda hard to tell by just the explanations I have given, but if possible, could you give me any tips for when I go this Saturday?
  16. Is this meet up still going on, was looking forward to it but haven't heard much about a time or place, let me know.
  17. yea I have also used them as trailers but I wanted to try and use them without the jig.
  18. I bought a bag of the big critter craws in the watermelon seed and chartreuse claws color at bps and I took them out to a pond near my house and didn't have any success with them. I was looking for some tips on how to fish and where to fish these. I have been texas rigging them weightless and throwing them by grass and around fallen trees, any tips appreciated, thanks.
  19. X2, just bought some of these and used them earlier today and they worked great, pretty cheap to which is a plus.
  20. yea, but they have to order one from tracker and then wait for it to ship. I was trying to find somewhere i could just go and get it, but if it comes down to it ill get bps to order one.
  21. I need to find a trailer for a Bass Tracker 170 TX but I need to be able to get it fairly locally (new trailers, I'm not looking for used ones), so if anyone that lives in central Virginia that could help me find one it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I was in Gander Mountain yesterday picking up a few things and I went to the aisle with the jigs on them. They had plenty of jigs, but all of them were in dark colors. Are light colors such as white and chartreuse not as productive as the dark colors when using jigs? Sorry if this is a "noob" question, I am new to jig fishing and trying to fish these things. Thanks
  23. I just bought a storm kickin minnow in the pearl color, I am just starting to fish swimbaits and this one had good reviews on BPS and it was cheap so I went and got it. Im not sure where to fish this at though, and is it just cast and steady retrieve or do you add some action to it? Thanks.
  24. Where do you guys keep your drop shot rigs when your not fishing them (if you dont keep them on your rods) ?
  25. Im in Hanover, but im game for some fishing, let me know when and where.
