  1. I think this is probably the one your talking about http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1248228299/0
  2. The "Fast Cast" button on my 4600 has cracked and I cant cast without gettin a new one. But I cant figure out how the button comes apart from the reel frame, I looked at the reel parts diagram and it shows that the frame and the button is 1 part #, so does the button not come off of the frame? Am i going to have to buy the $30 frame just to fix a plastic button? Thanks.
  3. I have a few spools of Seaguar Fluorocarbon invisible leader material I was thinking about using as a leader on my reels with braid. The only thing I was worried about is the spools that i have are all 20# test (0.016 DIA). Do you think that this will be to heavy of a leader? I am using 50# spiderwire as my main line.
  4. I bought some of this for my baitcaster and well... the only time i would ever use it again is for a small leader. After 2-3 cast on a baitcaster this line will look like a spring. I havent tried it on a spinning reel so im not sure about how well it would do, but id imagine it wouldnt do to much better.
  5. I got a 1990 17' tracker for $800, had a 80hp Mercury that needed some work, and needed a new trailer. I spent about 200-300 fixing the motor (did the work my self which saved alot of money). I had a buddy that worked in a metal shop so we ended up building a aluminum/galvanized trailer for about 600. So I spent about $1700 to get a fairly decent bass boat. You just gotta keep your eyes open for good deals. Look at some of the used 16 foot model bass trackers, I think they are called Pro 16's. Or you can try and find an Alumacraft bass boat style jon boat like these: http://alumacraft.com/bass-style-deluxe-modified-v-boats/angler-sc.php or http://alumacraft.com/jon-boats/mv-1650-aw-sc.php.
  6. Would a Gamakatsu 2/0 or 1/0 octopus circle hook work as a wacky rig hook?
  7. Yea, its on the side of the box lid that does not have carpet if that helps, the inside of the box. when you shut the lid they just dangle freely but dont fall off. I got some eye hooks that at home depot, and just opened them about 1/8" so you can get the wire of the spinnerbait in there.
  8. made a rack with some eye hooks and a peice of 1x2 on the underside of one of the hatchs in the boat.
  9. Thanks for all that info, im sure it will do me some good. I will also be out there in my tracker, are you gonna put in at Rivers Rest?
  10. Anyone put in at Rivers Rest recently? I plan on going down there Saturday morning and im new to that part of the river, where has the best fishing been at for you? What are some producing lures? I hope to be on the water by 5:45 so I can catch that morning topwater bite . Any advice is appreciated!
  11. Im looking into gettin a rod for my crankbait reel and some of the rods I was looking for aren't the ones that are lure specific. So what should I look for when I get one? what should the action be, power, length? When I am fishin crank baits I am usually in shallow timber, so most of my lures are light weight ( 1/4 oz ). Thanks
  12. Norman's Baby N, Nutter Shad color
  13. I got the Bitsy Bug in the watermelon color, I put a watermelon/chartreuse tail zoom little critter craw on as a trailer (trimmed it a little bit shorter). I have caught many fish using it in heavy wood cover. Also, you could try the Booyah baby boo jig, same price. They make them with heavier jig head and bigger hooks, but about the same size skirt.
  14. Na Sam, not going to the James tommorow lol. We are goin back to the Pamunkey and puttin in at Williams.
  15. Me and a buddy had a date set that we were gonna go out to the river tommorow and do some fishin. But I have been watching the weather and it seems that its gonna be rainy all day and the temp will be 10-15 degrees cooler than the days before, like today is was 85 and tommorow it will be low 70's. I cant say much about the water temps cause im not sure about them. What do you guys think I should use and look for?
  16. I think white, I think it will balance out the colors.
  17. I just got my first bass boat about 2 months ago and I have all my lures and tackle stored in the compartments in the boat, and as of right now the boat isn't covered and is exposed to rain. I am worried about the lures rusting since the compartments are 100% waterproof. Most of my lures are stored in plastic trays but my spinnerbaits are not in a box of any sort. They are stored on a rack on the bottom side of the compartment lid. I know they make products to prevent rust, (cant think of the name) like the ones you put in safes. You guys think that buying something like this is necessary or should I not worry?

I bought a scum frog from bass pro in the watermelon/red flake color, I have been using frogs like the Ribbit frogs and the Net Bait paca frogs, but I wanted to try out a pre-rigged frog like the scum frogs. I tried it out early in the morning in and around lilly pads where I was havin success with buzz baits, but the fish wouldnt take the lure, they came to the surface and just striked it, they never ate it. How should I present these?
  19. Yea I was gonna put in at Williams, I noticed a few docks up the river a bit, have you tried fishin those?
  20. Anyone know how the fishin is on the Pamunkey, what are some producing lures and areas to fish (if you dont mind giving that information ? Took the boat there today with some friends to just ride and make sure it runned right and it looked liked there was some good fishin there, seen a few fish jump at the boat dock lol.
  21. When im fishing smaller waters, I usually take the jon boat and as of right now I dont have a fish finder in it. I have always fished the shores and structure that is visible, but is there any ways of finding structure in deeper water (10-20 foot) without the fish finder? What are some lures or rigs that I would be able to feel the structure if there is any?
  22. When you are using spinnerbaits, when do you "burn" them and when do you fish them slower? Is there certain situations you do either one or do you let the fish tell you which one is better?
  23. yea I rebuilt them correctly and also cleaned them all with carb cleaner to get all the trash and anything else out.
  24. I completely forgot to put in the post that the motor hasnt been out on the water in about 4 years. That may help a little
  25. I got a 1990 Mercury 80hp 2 stroke and it dont seem to be running right. Ill try my best to explain what the motor is doing, we got it out on the water and when you put the throttle down the motor will miss and kick the rpm's down or up. The motor is not running at the power it should have. I have rebuilt the carbs, water pump, fuel pump, and ran some Quicksilver Power Tune through the motor. I am gonna get some spark plugs this week and see if that makes any difference. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?
