When my son became my fishing partner at 8 years old. He doesn't overthink anything like I do. He picks his baits randomly and does whatever feels right. And it usually works in his favor too!!! I sometimes talk myself out of a certain pattern or even going altogether. Not him, he's always ready to go.

I was just about to make a thread asking this very question. The K is too heavy for my taste but I am keeping my fingers crossed for something new in the 70 size. In the meantime I couldn't resist and broke down and bought a 71hg yesterday.

Trust me buddy we do understand but you have to choose your battles. And I completely agree that the frying pan is the bigger issue. My son and I had an incredible honey hole ruined by this very thing. It was loaded with bass and hardly anything under 3 lbs. It is located in a remote area out in the woods that basically needs an ATV to get to it. We were fishing one day when this group of people on four-wheelers came by. Not thinking much of it we spilled the beans about what we used and how many fish were in there. Next thing you know the place starts getting trashed daily with litter and they ate everything they could get their hands on in there. I was infuriated at them and mad at myself for telling them but such is life.

So proud of my little guy. He shattered his PB on Sunday afternoon. He had been bugging me since Saturday to hit the lake. With the wind as bad as it was and the cold nights I didn't want to bother. I just got him a new Tatula rod and reel combo he's been wanting to try. I told him we're not going to catch anything and he said he didn't care he just wanted to be out there and try his combo. Sunday he finally talked me into hitting our little spot out in the woods. On his second cast with a Storm wildeye swimbait(of all baits) he hooked up with this beauty. It weighed in at just over 6lbs! His previous PB was 4.5 lbs. Tight lines and take those kids out fellas.

What's all this talk of complicated oil changes in EcoBoost vehicles!? I just bought my wife a new 2019 edge ST a few months ago. Oil changes on it are no worse than any other vehicle I've ever done.

This^^ especially in a small boat! I've had some scary rides back even in a 20ft boat. Be safe and bring a flipping stick.

Force myself to actually wake up after the alarm goes off!

Out of everything named the only real worry are Gators. They can be vicious and they aren't afraid of much. I've had a couple scary encounters and now I don't go out to my remote spots anywhere without adequate protection on me. There are even huge black bears here in Lake Placid. There are also a lot of water moccasins too. I wear high boots to try and lessen the impact in case of a bite. No matter what anyone tells you NO fish is worth your well being. Don't be afraid to hit those sweet spots but be smart and safe about it. Happy New year bass resource fam!!!!!

Tenorac, Arbuckle, Istokpoga and Hardee Lakes are great places. There will be a lot of spawners during that time so have a flipping setup with black/blue jig or Junebug plastics.

I use braid on everything no leader. From 30lb on my top water setup to 65lb on my punching combo.

I've been wanting to go catch peacock forever! I live in Highlands county and my last attempt was a fail. There's just so many places and a lot of them don't welcome anglers. I think I will try again next week. My 10yr old son is begging me to take him.

It's actually going to get a custom Dyno tune from Jeremy at faster proms in Tampa Florida. With only the blower and long tube headers we're expecting around 610hp We'll see how long that satisfies me before it feels slow again ?
