Zodias all day and twice on Sundays! Dobyns is overpriced and the sensitivity isn't there at all for bottom contact. They are also heavy compared to anything else in comparable sizes and ratings.

Well the bend is more towards the reel seat. Right on the backbone section. It's a 7' 11" flipping stick.

So it's that time when I update a lot of my gear. I ordered a couple Shimano Exprides and they came in today. One of the cardboard tubes was bent pretty badly. It actually looks worse in person than I could get it to show in the picture I attached. Not sure how but the rod wasn't broken inside. Question is, could it have gotten damaged internally or somewhere that can't be seen visually? Would you guys send it back for another one or trust using it?

I keep a few since I swap gear often. The rest I give to my local marine shop. They always need them.

Just depends what bait, hooks and where it was hooked. My 12 yr old son and myself encountered this last week while on a late afternoon quickie run to one of the ponds we fish. We saw a small bass jumping out of the water a couple ft thrashing violently. I heard the unmistakeable sound of treble hooks banging around. This went on for a few minutes until the little guy got hung up on some matted grass. My son all the sudden jumps in the water yelling "I can't let him die"! He brought the fish to shore and it had a huge spook stuck on his upper and lower jaw. We got a new baby bass colored spook and the fish swam off seemingly ok. And of course I forgot my phone in the car so no pics!! ?

I love the feel but hate the look of them. I go with the heat shrink X pattern stuff myself on most my rods now.

The gators here on Istokpoga and Okeechobee must not have gotten the memo that they're supposed to be naturally fearful of humans! I've had monsters following me around nonstop. Even had one try to literally come in the boat before(only on one occasion). Maybe people feed them or something I don't know?

That's disgusting and shameful if a person did that! It's a reality though and it happens daily all over the world unfortunately.

BEHR concrete cleaner and degreaser. I buy it at the Home Depot and it works great.

Personally I think 7' 3" is the shortest I would go and occasionally I even step it up to a 7' 6". But I am in FL and fish frogs in some pretty thick stuff. For lighter cover or open water a shorter rod would work fine.

Yup! Seems like I always get them doing everything BUT casting! Last night I got a terrible one by accidentally clicking the spool release while loading up to go home. ?

Most of the time a good clean and lube fixes it.

I still use my old Powell Max 3d 736. I hope it never breaks because it's the best frog rod I've ever used. My son uses the Tatula(cork handle) 7' 4" H/F and it's also an awesome choice. Like mentioned above the Powell endurance 735 is also a great one. Many options out there.

I currently own all Chronarch MGL reels and one Chronarch G that I added an MGL spool to. Absolutely amazing reels! Doesn't hurt that the most I paid for one was $200 either. With that said I do have 3 of the Curado MGL 150s on pre-order. I loved the K but it was just too heavy for my liking.

Might just be the picture but it looks like any other bass to me. ?‍♂️
