I took Friday off and one of the things I got done was get the oil changed in preparation to sell it. Monday rolls around and I drive the truck for the first time since parking it Friday after the oil change and I notice a huge oil spot on my concrete driveway! My wife takes it back Tuesday and they replaced the filter and double checked the drain plug, apologized for the inconvenience, and gives her $10 off our next oil change. She goes and runs some errands and checks and sees a small puddle of oil in the parking lot where she parked! I tell her to take it to another place for another opinion and they put the right oil filter on the truck and to my surprise they don’t charge her and say we’ve dealt with enough (they’ve earned our business). 
 

So the original place put the wrong ? filter on which caused the leak which has left a substantial spot in my driveway! What can I do to minimize this eyesore in my driveway? 

Kitty litter, sand, dirt, leaves, gravel, 6 weeks of weather, a push broom and some tide powder

The lady used to drive an old Jeep and I was changing her oil and filter at my moms house one time. Mom suggested I pull it into the garage but I said no I’m sure it will drip some, so thank the good Lord I pulled the jeep down onto a nearby golf cart path that was asphalt. When I took the old filter off the rubber gasket detached itself from the filter and stayed on the car unbeknownst  to me. So when I put the new filter on, add all the fresh oil, and start the car oil is spraying everywhere. I quadruple checked the filter size, obviously it’s screwed on there, and couldn’t figure out what happen for at least five or 10 minutes.  I was comparing the new filter to the old filter I realized the gasket was missing from the old one and figured it out. It is amazing how quickly five or 6 quarts of oil get ran through a filter. Had this happened in moms garage I wouldn’t be on this planet today 

Zep Commercial Purple Degreaser is what I've used to remove them from my concrete driveway.  I just pour it on, let it sit for a 20 minutes or so and hose it off.  When dry, push some OG clay kitty litter (Tidy Cat) around it and the spot should be gone.

Ernest finally landed that summer job down at Hap’s full service Gas ‘n Go about a week after school let out. old Hap was a crusty sort, rough around the edges, but fair. after about a week he let Ernie run the place all by himself while Hap stepped out for a bit to get his bottle of heart pills refilled. during that time the mayor had pulled in for a quick checkup and oil change. Ernie dove right in and had the good mayor back on his way in less than an hour. as he was cleaning up, Hap returned to the station…

 

“How’d it go boy?”

 

“Just changed the oil in the mayor’s car and now he’s off to Raleigh for a big mayor’s conference!”

 

“Well done boy, any problems?”

 

“Nope, only had this one bolt leftover.”

BEHR concrete cleaner and degreaser. I buy it at the Home Depot and it works great. 

Brake cleaner. I use the spray, spray it well, then hose it off.
