Well I can only break it in if the fish cooperate. ? They've been hitting topwater pretty good lately so I'm hopeful. Also, these new B models feel a lot stiffer than the previous ones.

new expride b in the house
Maybe it depends on your area? For me USPS is usually early but it's hit and miss on what's damaged. FedEx ALWAYS late and high chances of damage. UPS usually late but hardly ever any damages.

USPS use to be my go to but they have broken 2 of my last 3 in only 2 weeks!! Now FedEx is joining in on the action! UPS is better but man they're so slow. Better late and in one piece though I suppose. FedEx figured a 7' 11" was just too long so they were nice enough to make it a travel rod for me!

I stocked up on the new Bobby's perfect frogs and found a stash of the old wobbletrons from a guy on the forum!

Yes they have a tiny one right at the bottom of the cork handle in the exact spot as the Zodias. I would rather it not have one as I like the Fuji ones better anyhow.

Yes they are. Even their top of the line Poison Adrenas are as well. The 711XH lost almost a 1/2oz from the A model.

Could you only fish crankbaits year round forever?
No way.... NEVER!!! I don't use them much at all here in Florida. But even if I lived somewhere where they were more effective I still couldn't do it.

Most of them do. My 711XH is maybe an inch longer. I suppose it's for balancing reasons. Also, the cork looks to be slightly better quality.... to me anyways.

I find the heavy a little stiff for anything under 1/2oz. But it is indeed personal preference. And you could always sell an older rod to make a little room for a newer model. ?

It all depends on what you're pitching into? For docks and scattered cover up to 1/2oz the MH/F version is perfect. Anything over 1/2oz or in heavier cover than the Heavy really shines. Mine will mainly be used for rage toads and big 12" + worms.

Expride B or Expride A?
I have both the A & B model 73XH now and they are identical. The A was always rated a mod fast by Shimano. Other vendors for whatever reason had it labeled as a fast. Not sure who in there right mind would think it is a mod fast though! The thing is a pool cue. It shuts off almost immediately a few guides down. Even under a really heavy load, it's not budging.

Discontinued lures that you wish would come back
The Spro Dawg in golden shiner! The smaller one not the salty Dawg. I lost my last one to a freaking iguana down in Miami!

Curado 150 MGL
I just sold my last 70 MGL yesterday actually. When I did have them the only thing I used them for was flipping, pitching and punching though. The line capacity of the 70 really limited it for me. And as you mentioned the colors of the 150 MGL ruined it IMO. The 200k has similar looks to the 70 but the weight is an issue for me.

Man I'm a sucker for color matched combos!! That is pure sexy!

Dobyns Champion Extreme HP
744 would've been a much better, more versatile option. It has a softer tip compared to the stiffer 704. I consider the 704 more of a jig/worm rod.

New Cranking Rig... Scorpion DC?
Yes sir, the 21 DC is WAAY smoother than the SLX. It feels like the handle isn't even attached to anything. I purchased both of my 17s from Amazon. There's still some in stock right now. Good luck

Swimbait reel
I've tried everything from the Tranx lineup to the big 13 stuff and have settled on the Lew's super duty wide spool for all my big bait duties. Only 8.1oz, sits really low on the reel seat and holds way too much 25lb fluoro line.

CASTING REELS! 13 Fishing VS Shimano
I was all in on 13 years ago and they let me down BIG TIME! Not only because the products had issues but the way I was treated when I attempted to get their help with said issues.... Never again! Between the ones you named SHIMANO and like Mike L said it's not even close! The Curado DC or 150 MGL will handle just about anything you can throw at them big or small.

Fit and finish - which rod companies rise above?
Shimano/Jackall Adrena & Glorious are gorgeous! Megabass P5 lineup Dobyns anything
- Curado 150 MGL

Cork vs foam/Eva vs Winn grips
I despise Winn grips on anything! They look ugly and feel weird. I really like the new monocoque Shimano stuff. Next would be some nice AAA cork. I love the look and feel after some U40 sealant. Last would be foam. I like it but not as much as the others listed above.

New Cranking Rig... Scorpion DC?
Look through my posts where I put the 2021 Scorpion DC against the SLX DC. The Scorpion got destroyed! To me the new one is uncomfortable to palm and feels huge in hand. I use a couple of modified 2017 Scorpions that are yet to get outcasted! The only one that even came close was my Metanium DC and my son's Curado DC. I think the addition of the MGL spool made them over brake the new 21 DC system, greatly limiting casting distance. IMHO, the 17 is still king of the Scorpions. Mine have 95mm handles, one has power grip knobs, both have micromodule gears from a 70 Curado MGL and worm gear bearings added.
