  1. Man, that is messed up on Cabela's part! I wonder why they haven't caught that!?!
  2. I am right handed and only use LH reels for flippin' and pitchin'. Left hand retrieve feels wrong to me! So, i agree that its all in how you grew up fishing.
  3. You already have the perfect reel on there man! I use a Shimano Crucial flippin' stick and a Revo STX HS for the "slop".
  4. Actually, the Revo Premier only puts out 12lbs of drag. I love mine but it is no fun trying to winch a big bass out of cover with one!
  5. Don't even think twice about it. Just go get you a Revo SX or STX and some strong fluoro or braid. If you want winching power get the low speed Revo Winch. I use a Shimano crucial flippin' stick and a Revo STX and those fish don't stand a chance! The Revo has one of the best Drag systems out right now.
  6. I would put my $ on a 7" Zoom Trickworm(or other straight tail) with a 1/8-3/16oz weight and a Gamakatsu hook. Twitched very SLOOOOOWLY!
  7. Lake Istokpoga is my favorite lake in my area. Walk in water produces some monster bass if you know when and where. I would probably choose Stick Marsh over walk in water though. A guide would be a sure bet to a good day. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  8. IMHO, there is NO better, stronger fluoro than the BPS XPS line hands down! I use the 20lb for flippin' and pitchin THICK FL cover and i catch fish after fish without having to even re-tie! The big spool is a great idea because at almost $20 for a small spool, it can get expensive!
  9. I buy the imitations on Ebay 50 for $14 shipped. They work just as good!
  10. My first choice would be a jig and pig for sure. I would also drag texas rigged plastics on the bottom VERY SLOOOOOOOWLY!
  11. Give me a spot where two or more types of vegetation exist, a flippin' stick and a good song on the radio and i am in heaven! The nastier the cover the better!!!!!
  12. Since visibility is an issue use slightly larger plastics than usual. Add a rattle and use dark colors(junebug, redshad, black/blue). Work them slow and make repeated casts. Try a firetiger or white/chart Rat-L-Trap as well. And don't forget to take a black/blue jig with a baby brush hog trailer(deadly). Best of luck!!!!!!!
  13. That color works great for me mostly in moderately stained(3ft visibility) to chocolate milk color. If it's really dark i add a rattle as well.
  14. FLORIDA all the way!!!!!!!!!
  15. I have a 7' MH/F and a 7' H/F and i love them! I use mine for plastics with fluorocarbon and Tungsten weights and i feel every little tick. VERY POWER FULL too!!
  16. I use the Scum Frogs and the Mann's frog as well. I usually add rattles and some extra weight for casting distance.
  17. Those are all colors i use for dark or stained water. I use the natural colors if the water is clear.
  18. I think its just one of those days man! I have had days when every fish that looks at my bait comes in the boat and days when i miss every single hit!
  19. My strong point is pitchin' soft plastice into tiny holes and pockets. I LOVE POWER FISHING! 7' 6" H/F Crucial rod, Abu Garcia Revo STX, 25lb Fluoro, Gamakatsu superline hooks and Tungsten weights. Once that fish even thinks of taking my bait, you better believe it's coming in the boat for a quick pic, LOL!
  20. So i went out fishing on my favorite lake alone today for the first time in months. I usually have a partner in the boat with me. Weeks prior i had been using bigger lures in search of that monster with only one or two bites a day. Today i decided to keep it as simple as i could. I tied on a 3/16oz bullet weight, 3/0 hook and a 6" paddle tail worm and WOW! In two hours i landed 10 fish, 9 of them were keepers! Right before i left the lake i landed a 3lb 8oz football! I have been looking for that double digit hawg for so long that i had forgotten how fun it was to just catch bass! I wish i could have gotten pics but its hard when your alone.
  21. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I am still waiting on that big one actually. My biggest bass to date was 8lb 6oz at lake Istokpoga, Fl. I want a double digit one bad though. Maybe i will learn what it takes here, LOL!
  22. Hello everyone! My name is Luis and i live in Hardee CO FL. I am 25 years old and i have been bass fishing since i was about 4. I just recently bought my second boat so i am really enjoying the sport more now. It is a 16ft fiberglass BasStream bass boat. My favorite FL lakes are lake Istokpoga and Lake Okeechobee. I really look forward to learning from everyone here!
