  1. I think they are better salt water rods than anything else.
  2. Man, you could not have described me any better Fish Chris! It's kind of scary, LOL! That's exactly how i am. I use to always rag on my buddy for using Sweet Beavers. One day i was alone on the lake and tried one. Lets just say that i have about 30 bags on hand now, LOL!
  3. My fishing buddy does this an it annoys the crap out of me! I take mine off as soon as i buy it. I kind of like th weathered look of the cork grips. ;D
  4. Abu Revos hands down! Best drag in the industry period!
  5. It all depends on the reputation of the specific company in question. My experience with big companies has been that of poor customer service and defects in lure quality due to mass production. I believe that smaller companies actually put the love of the sport into each and every one of their products. Not to mention the pricing is usually better from smaller companies as well. Just my 2 cents though!
  6. WOW, i would have paid to see a pic of that brave Crappie, LOL! Congrats man!
  7. You aint kidding man! I have exhausted myself on the last three outings with no luck!
  8. IHere in FL i will almost always pitch a 4" Chigger Craw to stumps. If that doesn't work i will swim a curly tail worm by it to try for a reaction strike.
  9. I am the same way, i do not like throwing swim baits. I have never had any luck with them. You know what they say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks!
  10. Hey guys, i have a little situation. For the past three or so outings i have been very unsuccessful on my favorite lake. I usually catch nice size fish, some dinks and at least one in the 5lb range. Last trip i didn't catch anything and today i only caught a 3lb 1oz fish and one that could have been used as bait all day! I have tried flippin/pitchin t-rigged worms, lizards and craws. I also threw a spinner bait and a Rat-L-Trap around pads and grass. I fished all my known spots and some new ones as well with no pay off. Can anyone in FL(or with knowledge off it) clue me in on what's going on with the fish right now? Any advice, tips or comments are welcome. NOTE: All the lakes i fish are shallow with little bottom structure and only a few spots reaching 9ft or so.
  11. Couldn't have said it better myself, LOL! I just can't keep my 16ft boat still long enough to do anything. I need a power pole but can't afford it.
  12. My all time favorite is the Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap. I also have some Cotten Cordells i use.
  13. My Falcon is indeed a very nice rod, very sensitive. I got a chance to fish with it today and i must admit it feels good. But, i hooked into a little 3lb bass in scattered bull rush and he almost whooped me! The rod has way too much give in the tip for my liking. I called Falcon to complain and the rep assured me that the diameter was not a factor. I was told that this rod can handle heavy cover with ease. He even said "go put a 1/2oz jig on that thing, throw it around and you will love it". Hmmmm, i wonder if he gets paid to say that, LOL! Oh well, i have 25lb BPS fluorocarbon and a Revo on it so it should still be able to pull em out of the thick stuff..........maybe!
  14. BPS Crankin Stick in 7' M/F. The reel is a BPS 10BB Tournament series(electric blue) in 6:3:1 ratio. The line is 12lb Stren original. I LOVE THIS SET-UP!
  15. REVO ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I have one with the feature but rarely use it. To me it would come in handy more when pitching lures rather than flippin. You can control everything with one hand until you are ready to reel in. It's a lazy feature to me, LOL!
  17. I wonder if the telescopic flipping version is stouter? I hope to hear from anyone that has one of the two rods!
  18. Man, i can't think of a better way to spend a lunch break than that right there! Nice bass btw.
  19. Bass is yucky! I prefer cat fish and specs. 8-)
  20. I would say anywhere around the Kissimmee area would be ideal!
  21. The one, the only......................FLORIDA!!!! ;D
  22. Man, that would take forever! Makes me think of how much i take my electronics for granted!
