  1. I couldn't have said it any better myself, LOL! ;D
  2. Are they the same as the powell? I always see that name when searching for Powell rods. They also, have similar item #s.
  3. I tried the whole sharpie thing and well, lets just say it doesn't work very well! A few casts later the ink is gone and the smell is still there.
  4. I use 20lb fluoro now but i am always nervous when hooking a fish that it's going to break. I want to use braid on my Powell 766h Max flippin stick(on its way to me) but i don't want to ruin the rod. I think it comes with fuji guides.
  5. Just wanted to see what you guys are using for flippin and pitchin. Also, is it true that braid will cut/ruin the guides on your rods? Is fluorocarbon good enough for these techniques?
  6. LOL i am like that with my texas rigged worm! ;D
  7. I would use a 7' rod for trebles as well. Medium power with a fast tip.
  8. In all my time fishing i have only broken one rod. I hooked into a 6lb bass in THICK pads and i was so excited i pulled a little too hard! I snapped about 16in off the tip. On the bright side, i still landed her! ;D
  9. Not as much as some will want you to believe. For the $, there are WAAAAY better rods with better components! Crucials, as stated above are excellent.
  10. After speaking to the owner of Powell products i went ahead and bought this rod. Just wanted to see if anyone actually tried it.
  11. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! That is the boat that i dream about 23 1/2 hours a day! I wish i was a litle closer to you and didnt have to work. What a chance!!!!!
  12. That would be great for me because the deepest lili pads i fish are in about 4-5ft of water.
  13. I have the same pole. Works as expected. Simple but effective. I have been pleased. Is it strong/durable enough to push through matted vegetation? I have heard that the aluminum construction is weak? THANKS
  14. Anytime you are looking for big bass! Or, whenever you feel like it. I have caught dinks on them as well. NOTE: Best in murkier water conditions or overcast days
  15. I was looking at buying this rod for heavy cover fishing but wanted to see if anyone on here has tried it? It is the Powell 766H Mag-Heavy extra fast one piece flippin stick in 7' 6" of course.
  16. I thought of fabricating one also but the comfort of this telescoping model makes it easy to store in my 16ft boat. Any comments on the strength/durability of this aluminum pole? That is my main concern!
  17. This will be up on Ebay in a couple of days if no one is interested!
  18. I love my Mojos and i beat the crap out of them fishing cover and have never had a guide fail....yet! Knock on wood! ;D
  19. I use a BPS Crankin Stick in 7' M/F action. I really like the set-up.
  20. I use a 6:3:1 and a 6:4:1.
  21. I work within feet of reclaimed phosphate pits and can't fish them because it's illegal! I see hawgs blow up on frogs and even small birds regularly. Now that is depressing! :'(
  22. I am a life long Abu fan so you can guess my answer. IMO, the new line of Revos is pretty hard to beat. Besides having the best drag system in the industry, competitive pricing and the infi II spool system, they are pretty darn sexy too!!! With that said, i have also heard great things about the Quantum PT reels as well.
  23. Could not have said it better myself, lol! ;D
  24. IMO, a 2/0 is WAAAAAAY too small! I use a 4/0 because i only use my beavers to pitch/flip in heavy vegetation where the potential for big fish is high. The beaver is too much plastic to get a solid hook set with a smaller hook.
