  1. Welcome bud! I don't do tournaments anymore. But I do fish Istokpoga, Placid and Okeechobee regularly on the weekends. We have a little bit of everything here in central FL. Your shallow lakes will be a lot of heavy cover fishing. Flipping and hollow body frogs are great. Deeper lakes like Placid and June will be a lot of scanning with your electronics to find offshore brush piles on droppoffs and points. Deep cranks, spoons and C-rigs rule on these lakes. Best of luck to you.
  2. I'll get ahold of a couple superintendents on Monday when they return to work.
  3. I meant to use your work connections to gain lawful permission two fish areas. I should have been more clear. Yes, you are correct, they don't take kindly to trespassers, LOL. I fished many of them when I worked there.
  4. With you being with the SO you might be able to get access to old Mosaic pits in Ft Meade and Bowling Green granted. I use to work there and know they are full of huge bass. If you're ever in Highlands county hit me up. I'm always down to fish.
  5. Mine happened when I was only about 14 or so. We were visiting family in NC. My uncle took me fishing on this private lake he had access to through his job. I remember it was in the middle of nowhere. We pulled a small Jon boat with an ATV through what seemed like endless woods to get to it. Right away within the hour we landed a few big bass. We were using some small renegade worms in this blue/purple/pink flake color we picked up from Walmart. We came to this enormous tree that was laying in the water. He tells me to cast my worm to the tip of the branches farthest out. As I swam the worm back one almost takes the rod out of my hands. I panic and start yanking as hard as I can. It honestly felt so heavy I'm positive it was well into the double digits. I got to see her come up and roll into a hard pull that snapped my line. Turns out it was like 8lb stren mono and he carried that combo I was using as a spare in the back of the truck. The line was brittle from being in the sun for so long. Till this day I've never seen or felt one like that. And I've caught many DD bass too. True story ?
  6. Here today, gone tomorrow buddy. I'm not gonna deprive myself of things I want as long as I'm not sacrificing my families needs to get them. Fishing, for me at least is a passion, a love if you will. A boat brings myself, my son and my fishing buddies much joy and is worth every penny. Good luck to you on your decision.
  7. I've fished Tenoroc only once way back about 8 years ago. I've always wanted to go back.
  8. Look on the bright side my friend. . . . . . It's in the 70s and perfect here in FL ?
  9. We have a couple TCS rods and they're great for the money. Especially since I got them for under $100 each with an eBay coupon.
  10. Now was it a cold front????
  11. Hmmm, washer/dryer, new smart phone..... Wait, that's the wife's list! Trolling motor, fluorocarbon, plastics, hollow body frogs.... Yeah, that's more like it!
  12. Sounds like a few people in here should stick to fishing alone! ?
  13. I have 2 of the 806 endurance punch rods and they're awesome! They weigh under 5oz and could probably drag Moby dick out of cover.
  14. Nope! I have OCD so I'm over organized.
  15. Where are you seeing the Max for more? I have many of both models. They are almost identical in terms of sensitivity, strength and actions. The endurance has a better reel seat though. They are both super light. My 806 endurance punch rod weighs less than 5oz. Very nice rods for the money. I use the 734 the most. It can almost do anything. I have a login for 20% off right from their site if you want to use it.
  16. Not again! Guess I'll just tell work I can make it after all.
  17. Is this a cold front I'm feeling this morning?
  18. Mods, please add a jealous reaction emoji ASAP! Looks so sick man.
  19. My son and I hit our honey hole ponds almost every day when I get home from work. No time to use the boat since we only have an hr or so till dark so that scratches the itch. We usually start with topwater (frog or devil's horse). If no hits after several casts, out comes the Rat L Trap or T-rig plastic of some kind. Feels good not having to load/unload boat then clean it and the truck and tote all the gear.
  20. Why would he not sale it Mike?
  21. We all know you have to have a brand new Ranger Z520 fully decked out to compete.?
