  1. That thing would look so sick with some blue power poles! Nothing like finding a well taken care of boat. Same deal with my ProCraft. Owner gave me a box with every piece of paper for maintenance and add ons from 96 to now. Enjoy it man.
  2. I always do good with spinner baits in wind. Or a heavier jig and craw trailer so i can feel my lure in the wind
  3. Rat L Trap, match color and size to your area and conditions.
  4. Yeah out of a yak might get tricky with a longer rod. The HD I suggested is indeed a Tatula. I picked both of mine up on eBay from authorized dealers for $105 each.
  5. I have a bunch of the 5.5" and 6.5" golden shiners. I like them so far. I've caught about 10 fish on one and it tore just a tad at the hook. Super glue fixed it right up. A little paint peel but nothing major. Definitely worth their price imo.
  6. All my Shimano rods have always been a little heavier then their rating. Honestly i would try it out and see how it goes for now.
  7. I have the Tatula frog rod and think it's too short and stiff to punch with. Have you looked at the Daiwa HD 200 reel? I love that reel a lot. For rods I like longer ones with a softer tip and fast reels with high drag. I used the STX for many years to flip and punch with, great reel.
  8. If it's stout enough rod I don't see why not. My son throws all his jigs on a 7' 2" MH/F spinning setup. It does have 50lb braid mainline though. He's dragged 5lbers out of cover no problem.
  9. I've ordered a few times from universal mania with a Georgia address and never had an issue. Not sure if they're the same company. Found out that Tackle Warehouse will price match them so now i just do that.
  10. Like stated above, try a drift sock out. They do work...
  11. Not sure we actually have a Fall he in S FL but my summer was horrible this yr. I too was out of the game for almost 4 yrs. It really sucks cuz i just got my 8 yr old son into it and he's losing hope at one of those 60+ fish days i always told him stories about having.
  12. I started my boy at 7 with a Daiwa excelor. Got it for $45 on sale at TW. He rarely back lashes it at all.
  13. Oh my . . . I need one of those as my new punching rod!
  14. Istokpoga, my favorite lake has been horrible since Irma. I've never been skunked on that lake till now!
  15. It was my 8 year olds second bait caster months after just getting into fishing and he rarely backlashes it if that tells you anything. Set them right and shouldn't be an issue.
  16. I purchased two of their reels when I was in need of a couple pond setups I could beat up. I gave one to my eight year old son and had one for myself for many months. We beat the snot out of them throwing them in the back of the truck and doing everything from rattle traps to heavy punching and flipping with them. After a while they started making horrible grinding noises. I opened them up and gave them a good cleaning like I do all my other reels and they've been performing fine since then. For the price I think they can't be beat either way. When we're just wanting to get a quick fix in after work and don't want to bring out my expensive stuff these are still what we reach for.
  17. This is easy man.... Get a longer, stouter setup and you're good to go. She will bite again but you have to be ready this time! It's happened to me before and that's what I did. Also, try a good sized paddle tail swimbait too. Big girls like big meals ??
  18. @freelancer27 I toss 3-3.5oz baits on mine no prob. The EVX line in 7' 10" xh is also sweet for the price.
  19. I considered one for my son before I started him out on bait casters..... Then i saw the price tag and weight!
  20. I use the Scott Martin 7' 11" tcs Matt Daddy extra heavy for glides and sometimes punching. It's more of a traditional heavy then extra to me. Super lightweight and tons of backbone. I picked it up brand new on eBay for $89.99 last week.
  21. This is an easy one . . . . Just get both! ?
  22. Devil's horse in bumble bee color (not actually called that).
  23. I bought into those exact ones many, many years ago! Never caught a thing and ended up giving them to a kid at a local pond. Like stated above, a 10-12" plastic work works better.
