  1. Huge congrats bro! Nothing like your first glass bass boat. Get some better pics though, it looks sweet.
  2. Mine have Owner hyper wire split rings size #5 and #1 size hooks.
  3. I've always colored my braid once it turns white. But not a solid streak of black. I've always candy cane striped it. One foot or so black them skip a foot or so etc. I think it's just to break it up from being one solid color more then trying to make it invisible.
  4. Blasphemy, fishing is never a waste of time! Tie on a hollow-body frog and get to work bud.
  5. I recently got skunked for the first time ever (fishing from a boat). I tried everywhere on that lake. But, i was trying to force them to bite what and how i wanted. Next trip out I took weather conditions into consideration and a little logic and I we able to make a decent day out of it. Sometimes you just have to go back to basics.
  6. For wood 20lb Seaguar flippin line or Abrazx.
  7. I was referring more to the really high end stuff. Like Hinkle's and 3:16 baits that aren't mass-produced. I don't know very many people that actually throw them! Well unless they bought them used at a good price. The most expensive baits I throw are the Bull Shad and the nez rat. The rest I purchased with no intentions of throwing whatsoever. They just seem like such masterpieces to me that I had to have them. I know for the most part I will make my money back or even more when I decide I don't want them sitting around anymore. That doesn't apply to just baits though, I have some reels that I have just as collectors items too. Both of them are always a hot topic when people come over to the house.
  8. Those more expensive baits tend to be more of a collector's item than anything else. I mainly use Savage gear and live target swimbaits myself to actually throw.
  9. They have replaced a Zillion and a Tatula for me no problem.
  10. ? Just don't be like me and buy expensive baits that you're too scared to ever throw! Cough, Hinkle shiner, cough....
  11. Check out swimbait underground, it will blow your mind. That's where I really got into swimbait fishing.
  12. The st-41 is a great hook but it's a 2x strong. Which means it weighs more and can affect topwater baits.
  13. I always upgrade my trebles to triple grips or owners ST-36. You mentioned they pulled drag? What line are you using? I usually use braid with top water baits with the upgraded hooks. I set my drag pretty tight. With trebles you have to keep a constant pressure on them or they will shake you off.
  14. Find you a buddy with a boat?
  15. Mine has done that before, once it ended up being the spark plugs. The other time it was my water separator needing replaced. Is the fuel that's in it old?
  16. Definitely a job better done by bait casting gear. I wouldn't even think of going under a 7' 2" H/F and 50lb braid. Especially in lily pads. They will wrap you up and break 30lb braid off easier then you might think.
  17. My dual tanks are fully accessible through the bilge.
  18. Ok I gotcha. I love doing that too man. I live in the scrubs with a bunch of ponds hidden everywhere. I pull out Google maps and the 4 wheeler and ride around fishing all day. A back pack really helps too. Good luck bro
  19. Mine is pretty accurate but i still check it and fill up before or after a trip.
  20. If there's cover I would up the line to 17lb or 30lb braid.
  21. Live Target has some awesome top hook baits. They also have a bottom accessory pin so you can add a treble hook or spinner blade.
  22. ?? Yes sir he is! His arm and wrist hurt at the end of the day but he will not give up! So proud of that guy.
  23. This one is growing on me. Got my lil guy some new fishing clothes and gear last week. Here he is hard at work with his Tatula flippin combo.
