  1. Who could i reach out to with calls & emails J Francho? Im not familiar with all that seeing as how i've never had to deal with it before(Calls & meetings). It is a very nice neighborhood though. A lot of retired folks on my street. About two weeks ago someone siphoned the fuel out of my next door neighbors cars and stole her lawn mower! She is in her 70s and lives alone. Cops told me not much can be done without proof of who it is. Said if i catch them on my property to "deal with them" and call them right away. Like i'm going to be lucky enough to actually catch someone in the act! I guess crime will always be everywhere in some way, shape or form. It's getting old fast though so im going to take all available precautions and live on! Thnx guys...
  2. I was just recently debating this myself for my spinners. I ended up choosing two different set ups. One has 40lb braid for the slop and one has 15lb mono for more open areas.
  3. Like stated above, if it could be recorded w/o killing it than HECK YEAH i would want to do it! I spend countless time and $$ on a sport i love and am passionate about so to hold a legit state record would be a huge achievment to me. Just my couple pennies in the pot though....
  4. http://www.mcgard.com/marine/outboard-motor-locks http://www.shop.shadycajin.com/Set-back-adaptbracket-kit-for-Minn-Kota-Talon-Power-Pole-security-bracket-kit-1.htm For the area where the PP bracket mounts to the side of the jackplate (Bobs Action jack) i used a product by Mcgard. Bob's machine shop recommended it to me. It's an outboard lock that will fit on the bracket bolts. For the bolts where the poles actually attach to the bracket i an going with the product in the OP. But since i am going with the Sportsman II poles i now have to address the bolts that hold the 2 piece bracket that series of pole comes with. PP really dropped the ball with that bracket design IMO!
  5. Yes i agree it is stressfull worrying about thiefs but it's for a reason. There has been a lot of it going on in our area lately. Just Sun night someone tried to ****** my Lowrance console unit while i was gone to the auto parts store with my wife and kids inside the house! I was working on wiring and needed more fuses. I came back to a torn out power wire and broken fuse panel!! Cops say it is people going around to nicer neighborhoods doing it. I just moved my family here a yr ago because our old place was too out of control in the crime dept, go figure! It makes me sick the nerve some people have! I found some good products to secure the poles in most crucial areas and will be adding them to insurance as well. I will leave the rest up to chance i guess.....
  6. Your talking my favorite way to fish now! I use a large size bobber stop, anywere from a 1 - 2oz tungsten weight, punch skirt, punch hook and either a sweet beaver or a D&M punch craw. At least 65lb braid with a snell knot. I throw it all on a 7' 11" new series Cumara H/XF and a G3 Revo SX HS reel. I rub the rig down with some Megastrike attractant as well. They don't always come out of that stuff but it sure is fun trying to get em out!
  7. Definately a big swimbait or a C rig.
  8. Look on eBay for a seller by the name of bigfishsports. G3 STX $156.74 shipped. It's $10 more than your Smoke but well worth it! I have gotten 7 STXS, 4 SXs and 2 Revo S from him with zero issues! He gets them to me n about 2 days after i pay and has a 99.9% + feedback.
  9. I just sold a 100 HS Smoke on Craigslist. I use all Revos but always loved the look of the Smoke so i bought one during a TW sale. It felt very nice in hand and casted well. But it had too much play in the handle (anti reverse) and i did not like the braking system used on it either. Bottom line is, you can get a G3 STX for that price if you look around and it is twice the reel the Smoke is.
  10. I knew that was coming and was going to add no Talons to the OP, lol. But no i'm set on Power Poles. I don't like anything about the Talons.
  11. Yes, i looked around but no storages that fit boats anywhere near my home. My buddy also suggested a dog but i honestly don't have time or patience to care for one. It would be unfair to the animal if i got one. I have had stuff stolen from my property already so that is what worries me even more! I strip the boat after every trip of everyting i can remove. I even considered welding the poles/brackets & jackplate together but i don't think it can be done without damage. Idk guys, i might just not get them. I was going to put a shed up for the boat but no room anywhere on sides or back of house. I can barely squeeze it in there now.
  12. Hey guys, just as i finally got in a position to get a couple of power poles for my bass boat, my buddys got stolen off of his saltwater flats boat! This made me think and research a little. My garage will not fit my boat so i cover it and put it in the backyard that is fenced in. I know that is not enough for a determined thief though. So, i want to hear you guys ideas on protecting such an expensive add-on. All i could really come up with was this site linked below. Anyone use this kit, http://WWW.SHADYCAJIN.COM/Fishing___Marine.php just need some advice before i get mine. I CANNOT afford to get so much $$ stolen!
  13. BPS XPS no doubt! Strongest i have used yet, casts well too..
  14. WOW, u just stripped me of every technique and lure that i use yr round to land huge fish on up to 11lbs! Not to mention that heavy slow rolled spinnerbaits and C rigged Senkos are deadly on that off shore structure you like so much. I have even had them schooling and hitting a Cavitron buzzbait in 20+ ft of water! Anyways, my least used or favorite are deep diving cranks. I hate them with a passion and have never done that great on them. .
  15. Mine will really only go when she needs to touch up her tan.....but its ok with me cuz she takes good pics!
  16. Hands down the new Cumara line. 7' 2" MH/XF worm/jig. Wow....all i can say!
  17. Senko in cold water & 10" power worm in summer....
  18. Wow, can't believe you don't have any success on those! I use some identical to them made by Storm and they are one of my best kept "secrets" here. I T-rig them or use them as a trailer on jigs for flippin & pitchin cover. Works really well in the cold fronts when fishing is slower.
  19. Imo, it depends highly on where you fish. Me, i fish in central/south FL in mainly weed choked heavy cover lakes. So all my gear is inclined towards the heavy side. Flippin/punchin sticks, heavy braid etc. I am however planning a trip down south for peacocks so i will be investing in a couple lighter combos. Maybe, just MAYBE, even a spinning outfit! Haha
  20. I think i know which ones u are referring too. They have a metal keeper wrapped on by what appears to b electric tape. i am pretty sure it is the exact same hook they make for Bub and PC baits but with a crappy keeper.
  21. Well it's a good thing i don't use those than huh. I use the Paycheck Baits straight shank, perfect! But i wud rather have a weak bait keeper than a broken hook or lost trophy any day.....
  22. Walmarts around here have them. After all the hype i decided to try the flippin style one with the keeper. I was not impressed at all! I had one break (not bend but break) while trying to pull a snag loose on 50lb braid. I will stick to my Gammys that i have been using for many yrs!
  23. A freakin 8ft + gator! I was slow buzzing a rage toad along thick pad edges when the surace exploaded. I never saw it just the explosion so i set the hook like normal! It bent my 7' 11" broomstick like it was a crankbait rod. As much as i hate to admit this, gator NEVER crossed my mind! All i was thinking was new FL record bass! When it pulled drag on my locked down Revo STX i knew it wasn't a fish. When this thing surfaced about 10ft from the boat it was not a happy camper! I cut the 65lb braid and put the Minn Kota on high.....
  24. Where about in Central are you? I agree man, hit up BPS in Orlando this weekend, i am!
  25. Shimano Crucial 7' 2" MH/XF, BEAST ROD!!!
