Ever wonder if fishing is not your thing?
Man its those rough times that keep me coming back for more! Every hobby/sport you get into will be the same. I can't even remember how many motors i blew when i was drag racing and had to go back to square one. You will be ok man.................

How's Your Summer Going?
Central FL.....................HORRIBLE!! Worse year i can remember thus far! No weight or numbers. I blame the irregular weather we have had this year, who knows.

Summer heat and bass feeding
Don't feel bad, i have not had a good day in months! I have tried early morning, all night, midday and everything in between with no luck! On a lake that regularly produces 30-50 fish days with 5-9lbers.

Fishing topped-out hydrilla/pegging weights
I would never use a jig in hydrilla that heavy! A T-rig with a pegged tungsten weight, a quality flippin' hook and braid will work better imo. I recently fished a lake where i had to use a 1 1/2oz tungsten weight and a 4" Chigger Craw to get through the hydrilla. Key in on ANY irregularities in the mat. For me it was tiny patches of pads mixed in. 90% of the fish were caught this way. Good luck

Giving out ticket's for "power loading" in wisconsin now
I guess i would just have to take the ticket! i just broke my winch trying to pull my Astro that last foot or so to avoid power loading. At MOST ramps i can just back up enough to wet the bunks and it will go on with almost no throttle. At others though it requires almost full throttle.

Topwater on cloudy days ?
I like clouds because the fish will come out of cover a bit more to hit topwater. But the lakes i fish have heavy pad fields and they will hit topwater lures all day even when sunny in that stuff.

Cranking Batterys
I just went up to a group 27 Interstate for cranking and it is way better than my old group 24. I also went up on the trolling batteries to Interstate group 29 and they are better than my old 27 groups.

shimano crucial 7ft mh casting rod
It was the first upper end rod i ever owned and i liked it. Was my dedicated T-rig rod for pitchin' medium heavy cover. It broke one day on a hook set so i gave up on Shimano rods.

Powell vs Dobyns....???
I use almost all Powell rods and love them. There is no way that the extra price on the Dobyns is justified! The difference is minimal to me. And yes i have used the Gen II Dobyns.

BBZ 1 Shad Slow Sink
Just like all other lures, it's not a magic bait that will work at any given time! I have had great success with the floater and slow sink when fish are active. I have also had amazing success when they are busting and won't hit any other lure. A medium retrieve with pause/twitch has proven best for me.

The Rod/Reel setup you are happiest with
Powell 705C, Mag H/F rod and a Revo STX HS spooled with 40lb FireLine Braid

Boat/Fishing Etiquette
My BIGGEST issue on the lake is with the d**n air boaters! They will blow by you and darn near run you over if you let them!!! >

Fishing deep thread
Good info...................deep for me is fishing pads in 7ft of water in the dead of summer! HAHA

Pranks
On the way back from the lake after a long day of fishing, my buddy always sleeps the whole way home. Well i hate it when he does that so...................i pulled over and hid all his $expensive$ gear in the lockers. When we got to his house, he thought it flew out! Funny thing was he never fell asleep again.................................go figure!

Spro Frog Question
I'm sure that has nothing to do with it...................................... :

Spro Frog Question
If you buy the R2S frogs(that cost less) you won't have to worry about modifying them! Same Gammy hooks but way softer body(better hook sets), won't take in water and "walk" waaaay better than the Spros. http://www.***.com/River2Sea_Bully_Wa_Frog/descpage-RBW.html
-
What is good braided line for flipping and pitching?
The new FireLine Braid is the best imo
-
Hollow body frogs
For the 65 frogs the R2S rules! A lot better walk than Spro imo. I do however use the popper Spro frog with great results. I mainly use green and black for colors.
