  1. Should i use the epoxy that HB sent with the transducer or buy a different kind?
  2. I know man! I was just telling a friend that i don't even know why i went and bought new sonars..................like you said, i fish mostly shallow holes! Too late now though
  3. Thanks a MILLION Wayne P. Won't removing it that way leave chips and rough areas where the puck will be? Guess i can just sand it if it does?
  4. I tried everything on that old ducer with no luck. There is no room to swing a hammer hard plus there is a lot of epoxy around it!
  5. Can you guys help me locate this keel offset on my unit? I looked everywhere and don,t see it!
  6. Are you comparing it to the depth that the trolling motor transducer is giving you? Tape measure actually.....................the lake is only 10ft deep at most.
  7. Never heard of that for HB. I figure minus 1ft for being under water line and the rest for sensitivity lost through the fiberglass. I'm sure someone on here knows better though......................
  8. I have 15-17 # for my treble hook lures.
  9. Hey all! I just received my puck transducer for my HB 581i sonar. I went out to test it before i permanently epoxy it in the bilge. My question is, how much accuracy is lost with bilge transducers? I was in an area that is 6ft deep and the transducer was saying 4ft. Everywhere i went it seemed to be about 2ft off from actual depth. I tried holding it over the side of the boat like the manual says first to get a reading but it wouldn't read bottom that way. There are two spots in the bilge on each side of the drain plug that sit lower than the rest of the bilge. On one side there is an old transducer epoxied in that isn't connected anymore. I tried my new one on the other side that is the lowest point in the bilge. So does it sound about right or do i have even more sonar issues again?
  10. And to think you could have wasted that time, oh i don't know, fishing........................................... :
  11. Gets me around just fine at over 60mph.......................
  12. No serial #s anywhere? Sometimes they are very small in very difficult to find places...........
  13. Don't know why you would want quite but the new FireLine braid is definitely it. Personally, i love the noise braid makes when ripping through expensive fuji guides, LOL!
  14. I will not bed fish ever on purpose...............................seems like cheating or tacking advantage to me.
  15. I use a Powell 765 or 766 for this FL slop. Amazing rods at a great price.
  16. OK, you got me, it jumped in the boat after i spooked it, LOL! It's the biggest of the year so far so it's looking good. The action is really starting to heat up now.
  17. I had that happen before trying to be Dean Rojas and skipping a frog under tree branches........................... ;D
  18. Xcalibur XR-50 is the best IMO
  19. THANKS, i will check the site out! I have heard too many mixed reviews about Scotch Guard.
  20. I go with custom made ones. Less than $3 average each with Owner hooks and i get them exactly how i want them. Number of strands, material, hooks, color scheme ratios, rattles etc.
  21. You have to understand that true punching(matted vegetation) is almost always about reaction strikes. The fish rarely gets a look at your lure in all that slop. Use a compact craw bait like a Chigger craw with a rattle and a tungsten weight to break through. A skirt can also get you more hang ups.
  22. Had a cheap $50 one for years with no issues...................batteries always charged!
  23. Looks like she still has eggs in her................................NICE
  24. NONE better than FireLine Braid, NONE..........................
