  1. I had the rod you speak of but sold it. It was too soft for my liking. I am against the majority for treble hook lures. I use a Daiwa graphite rod in 7ft MH/F and 17lb Trilene big game line. The line is stretchy but strong and cushions the hooks from pulling out. I need the stiffer backbone because i fish around a lot of vegetation. It is perfect for me(also good for spinnerbaits).
  2. For me it would be a Skeeter FX21 or a Triton 21X3 Pro DC.....................S E X Y!!!! 8-)
  3. Bill Dance and Bass Pro
  4. Forgot to mention pitching a Senko, DEADLY!!
  5. No just one because my bow unit messed up so i have just the GPS one.
  6. Man there are so many things you could do here, the possibilities are endless. I would start out with a 3/8oz spinnerbait. Choose blades and color according to water clarity. If that doesn't work, i would pitch a jig and craw close to the cypress trees since the wood is said to hold heat in cold weather. A simple Texas rigged worm or lizard will work good too.
  7. My 4 year old girl LOVES to fish with me. She prefers the local ponds to the bass boat though. I already have some gear waiting for the boy too(8 months).
  8. I hear the transom transducer/skimmers don't do well in the bilge because they are not designed to be there?
  9. Dark colors like black or JuneBug
  10. I have just about every rod they sale and love them all. All but one of my rods are Powell Max series. I just can't say enough about them, you just have to try one. You won't find any better for the $.
  11. I think i am going to seal the holes and get a shoot through.
  12. But air bubbles even sitting still with no wind!?! Could it be the transducer doesn't work?
  13. I like strike King and Excalibur myself.
  14. That's when I start that gas thingie on the back. Good luck catching anything with all the motor noise, LOL!
  15. I remember fishing with my uncle who taught me to fish as a kid. He always stressed wearing eye protection in the boat. He would not let me go with him unless i wore glasses. Getting a pair that is comfortable to wear all day is crucial.
  16. It won't even work right sitting still!
  17. Funny i have never had success with a black and blue jig. My best producer has been a green pumpkin with orange accent custom made jig.
  18. I am leaning towards attaching to the inside bilge area with epoxy(should have done that in the first place). Would it work about the same accuracy wise?
  19. Glad i live in the Eff Ell! Went out today for a few hours. Water temp was 58 degrees and 75 outside. Heavy winds but managed 4 dinks a 2lber and a 5lb 6oz fatty.
  20. Hey all! I am having problems with my new HumminBird 581i combos transducer. It is transom mounted and is not reading right. First off the depth keeps jumping around and won't settle on one depth. Also, it reads wrong because it was saying 3ft today and i could not even touch the bottom with my 7ft rod. It does not show the bottom on the screen(i think) either. It kind of just looks like grass everywhere on the screen from top to bottom. I already adjusted sensitivity and all other settings i thought would help with no luck. The transducer is mounted a bit lower than the instructions say but i did not think it would matter. I added some pictures of the transducer mounted to see if anyone can tell if i mounted it wrong.
  21. What size boat, as long as they have life jackets and don't fall over it should be ok. My daughter never went fishing with me until i got my first bass boat. When i had a 12ft jon she was scared of how it rocked, LOL!
  22. After my second child was born i had to get something bigger to tow with as well. I got an 07 Silverado 4 door LT and it is perfect. I can pull the kids, wife, groceries and an 18' 6" bass boat around like nothing! ;D
