solar flares and the classic
I just heard on the news that we will be getting hit with solar flares from now till this weekend and it could mess up gps. If that happens I think we will see alot of boats getting stuck and maybe some getting lost. I couldn't imagine trying to fish some place like the delta without gps and only a couple days of practice. You can forget making long trips. I know its been talked about before about how the pros would do without all the electronics, we may just get a little sample.

Sanity Lost in the Fog
people ride boats all the time at night. I personally have ridden at dark and must say that it wasn't fun, and if it was something that I had to do alot of I think the radar would be useful. I'm sure radar would come in handy for nighttime tournaments.

Had this arguement with a buddy at BPS the other day...
Im sure you could cast a few times. But your not going to catch a fish. Those fish are on a feeding schedule and probably eat pretty good. there not going to be interested in a lure. Go ahead and prove me wrong..... I dare you... make sure your buddy is video taping.

Kistler rod diferences
I have the helium lta and a micro mag. The lta feels much better than the mag, lighter and more sensitive. I plan on buying more of the heliums.

Are you the type......
if I could afford to upgrade everything I would but that would be expensive so I'm taking a slow approach, maybe one to two years. I am trying to upgrade my rods and reels from $200 combos to $500 combos. I can fish the old stuff with the new but the old stuff is getting used less and less.

question about chart speed on a depthfinder and why to change it?
i always match speeds. If the speeds don't match I believe you would lose detail.

1 question for KVD
Do you have a specific diet of food the night before and during a tournament? I always have to watch what I eat so Im not having to go #2 while out on the boat.

Ethanol ruling
The higher the ethanol content the lower the fuel economy. Which means you have to buy more of it, which in turn means more tax revenue for the fed and state.

upcoming NFL games!!!
the ravens steelers game will be bloody. I wonder if ben will wear that panzy visor. I hope we break ben and pull out all of troy's hair. It will be a great game and will come down to the final 2 minutes.

Need some advice?
I'm not mechanically inclined when it comes to working on motors or any thing else on a boat. So I went with new. the warranty is like a nice warm blanket.

KVD's sponsors products?
Is it possible that maybe kvd fishes with quantum out of a nitro because thats what works best for him, not what nitro and others pay him. With all the success that kvd has had, financially, I don't think he sticks with a paticular sponsor becuase of the money. I would think he could get paid just as much by any other sponsor.

KVD 2011
has he ever flipped? I think that if he did give up on cranks for a tournament, people might think he was sick or something.

Side Scan Transducer Location?
I am always running into rocks and logs with my trolling motor so that transducer gets knocked around pretty good. I mounted my si on the jackplate. its protected there.

NEW FISH FISHBURNE SHOW
years ago, Fishburne was great for the weigh-ins. I had a good time with him for the few seconds it took to weigh in my fish and he kept the crowd engaged. I will definateley take a look at his show.

TRACKER HULL FAILURE
i'd be curious to see the welds and seams where the boat came apart. Its possible that it could have been bad welds or a bad batch of material. If it was a design issue I'm sure we would have heard of more failures. I would have thought tracker would have done you better.

Use of a GPS as a back seater?
I would be a little offended. I've spent alot of money on electronics and alot of time finding these spots. I would feel as though you are going to be fishing these spots at a later time with another boater that doesn't want to take the time to find these spots himself. IMHO that makes you and the other boater a lazy fishermen. Now I know gps waypoints get shared all the time, but thats just my opinion. Youll become a better fishermen finding these spots on your own and you don't want to become dependant on other peoples waypoints.

Bass following jerkbait to boat
I've never heard of the idea from fishfordollars, I'll be trying that out next time out. Speeding up the retrieve has worked for me. I think the bass are getting to good a look at the bait and are seeing something off about it.

could use some recommendations on waders
in my past experience with waders, you get what you pay for. I use duck hunting waders for everything. I use the redhead bonedry extremes and couldn't be happier. Get the 5mm thickness at a min. for cold temps. You want the knee pads. I have taken these waders through everything you might come across from rocks to thorn bushes with no punctures through 2 years of use so far. my last pair became a home for a mouse since I left the waders out in the shed.
