  1. Both. It's a very versatile reel.
  2. Probably works much better than our prototype, particularly since it's heavier. Go with it.
  3. Is the prototype a 3/8oz buzzbait with 1/8 oz of lead added on? There may be quite a few of those "prototypes" floating about (so to speak)....
  4. Apparently going from unlimited to once doesn't qualify as a change? This will do wonders for building trust with the consumer.
  5. How well does * cast light baits?
  6. I'm pretty sure my daughter got one of those in her Happy Meal.
  7. Never mind Dozer - is the dog ok?
  8. RW - can you elaborate on what pound test, what setup, and what type of fishing (moving baits/plastics/whatever) you think it is best suited for?
  9. Not bad, but I like J Franco's quote on Vanish best...
  10. George has yet to provide any actual historical evidence that his theory actually was a part of the designer's consideration. His winch theory is a valid theory, however that does not mean that it is why baitcasters were created in that manner. There is a distinct difference.

Got a link to what packet you bought? I would assume you could always mix half, and then the other half later.
  12. This is a question only you can answer for yourself.
  13. Fish it weightless as well. Big producer both as a topwater and under water for me.
  14. Now its lame! I stocked up on terminal tackle and some Frogs of course!! x2 I wanted another rod. Could have used some beavers and whatnot also. Oh well. Did both of you miss the 15 posts directing you to call? They honored the sale for those crossed-out items as well, they just couldn't do it on the website.
  15. Open a couple of the E7's that are NOT making the noise up and see if the spool has the markings or not. Most likely they will have the same marks as I don't think that's your issue.
  16. They are "on" if they are out. Make sure you do it in opposite matching pins so it is balanced. Also, make sure you adjust the cast control knob so that the lure drops very slowly at first. You can loosen it so it drops faster after he gets better. Same with the brakes - you can put more on (i.e. 4) and reduce over time as he gets better.
  17. Do the Revo zealots drink this much koolaid?
  18. Alberto knot is what you want to use. I wouldn't get overly concerned about the digging as I think it's overblown here. I use 30lbs Suffix and Fireline on many of my reels and I don't remember the last time I've had a digging issue.
  19. I meant I've fished with as low as 10lbs braid (on a baitcaster) which had the equivalent of 2lbs mono and it worked. Had a different feel that you had to get used to but no big deal. Now I don't bother - I use 30lbs braid and tie on whatever size fluoro leader I need for those times where light line is critical.
  20. 20 lbs is a little on the light side based on line diameter but it will work. I have fished with as low as 10lbs. If you're good with a BC you'll be able to make it work, but you'll probably experience a dig-in problem every now and then. If you're inexperienced with a BC, it will still work, you'll just need to practice.
  21. Centrifugal: 1 or 2 on, 5 or 4 off, respectively. I have a couple of magnetic only reels - no clue what I use on them, I just play it by ear. Daiwa Zillions: settings between 5-7
  22. I would recommend you not filling your entire spool with the line you want to fish with. Fill it half-way (or 1/3-way, whatever) with the cheapest mono you can find and then spool it the rest of the way with your line du jour. That will be more than enough line for bass fishing and you will get extra mileage out of your spool purchases.
  23. This. The general rule of thumb is 8lbs or less for spinning tackle as it becomes too stiff any higher, but even 8 is borderline. Of course not all #8's are created equal so you have to pay attention to line diameter.
  24. Would it go up/down/stay the same if you changed to the Carbontex washers?
