  1. Contact Bobby. If you're having trouble with his product, he'll take care of you.
  2. Just think how popular they'd really be if they only had a 1/2 oz model.
  3. I have Fireline 30# on several of my reels and think very highly of it. It dug in sometimes on 1 reel but not the others (each reel is a different type/brand) so I can only assume I spooled that 1 a little too loosey-goosey.
  4. You may prefer 1 over the other if you fished them both extensively but the difference will be subtle. I personally use the M/F for t-rigs and jigs (3/8 or smaller). It's a great rod that you should definitely not have buyer's remorse with.
  5. That's personal preference. I like a minimum of 6' so I can tie on several different baits throughout the day and still have a decent amount to work with. Some use as little as 3'. Agree. I personally use 2 rod lengths and work my way shorter due to re-tying. JF - question for you: when you deep water Smallie fish, do you fizz them like deep water LB fishing?
  6. The Pitch brakes are for heavier lures; the non-Pitch brakes are for lighter rules. They're explained at the end of this video: JF is right; use the vid as a guideline, then figure it out on the water/backyard/wherever. Also, here's a good thread with excellent pics: http://www.rapalanation.com/index.cgi?board=rods&action=print&thread=7638
  7. As much as I love the Reel Wars on this forum, I am unaware of a bad baitcaster that costs over $100+. Are there any true lemons out there in this price range?
  8. This appears to have been in the works for a while as BPS quietly seemed to be phasing out his stuff.
  9. You could do that, or you could use your thumb more as another option.
  10. Three if you count Johnny Morris. It definitely is unclear where the Browning models fit in their lineup.
  11. Also I can hide my own Easter eggs. Not to mention you get to make new friends every day.
  12. I like when they show him drinking those 5 hour energy shots. Very subtle - not. However, watch Shaw Grigsby's shows. He never shuts up about the brands he's trying to shill.
  13. Any idea what year the STX is? Many '09's were blown out for $99 or so. The '10's have yet to be in that range. Either are very good reels, but you shouldn't have trouble finding '09's used for $100 or less.
  14. I'm sure all those who got screwed by the Big S for not addressing the bail problems a while back will find your experience very comforting to them.
  15. I agree, just restating what his comments were. I don't have any experience with either as of yet, so I have no opinion to provide.
  16. Goti posted on this a while back. His experience is that polishing the stock drag washers actually outperforms smoothdrag washers. I don't think he tried a combination of smoothdrag and polished, however.
  17. I wouldn't worry about the drag on either - there isn't a modern baitcaster made that doesn't have more than enough drag for bass fishing. I'd wait for the Mettle to go on sale; seems they can be had for $25 or so. Here's a link I found on it; should make a good starter reel and seems similiar to the BPS Bionic. http://www.2coolfishing.com/ttmbforum/showthread.php?t=311308
  18. Indeed. They may be the worst reel ever made. I will PM you my address and for a nominal fee, I will dispose of them properly for you. Don't fret, I won't charge much.
  19. I watched the next episode of Big Bass Battle - I realize now that 1 episode was my limit. I can't watch any more.
  20. I sprinted down to Dicks and picked up 4 300yd spools of 65lbs and 2 300yd of 40 lbs (I really like Fireline braid). They also had Rage Tails for half price so I bought like 18 packs of Craws, Space Monkeys, Lizards, and 7 inch Anacondas. Then I threw in the Entertainment book's $20 off $100+ purchase. All in all, not a bad day....
  21. I did see Zona with KVD Friday night it was an awesome show. What show/channel? I haven't seen his World's Greatest Fishing Show in the listings for a while now.
  22. Make sure it's "Fireline Braid", not just Fireline. "Fireline Braid" is the better stuff and hasn't been out for very long.
  23. Came across one recently to play around with but not cast or fish with. Seems like your standard Revo/ProQ/Curado/Pflueger solid baitcaster.
  24. I'm assuming all of these are 2009? Did you get an 2010 models for $125 or less? If so can you point us to where....
  25. Even if they did groove, St. Croix would take care of you. There's no risk here.
