  1. If by 'braid' you mean 'fluorocarbon', then yes you are correct.
  2. Anyone post some of the footage on Youtube yet?
  3. Would the anti-reverse pawl have prevented the substantial damage in this case?
  4. While fishing with Cy Young winners, no less. http://skeetreeseinc.com/?p=603

This would be my guess as well. Not because people think it makes fishing so easy it's like cheating but more to standardize tackle use on a circuit - something like a 1 rod 1 lure type of rule. We'll see. If it's not banned, I don't see why it would fade away as it's just another tool that works for a particular situation(s). The hype will eventually fade away; it has to.
  6. I'm curious if anyone has ever wacky rigged an anaconda - either the 7" or 10" version? Any changes to the presentation over a wacky rigged stickbait?

There was a video posted by a pro on how to make it but it's been virtually wiped off the internet (sponsors must have got to him...). Someone posted a link to it that was from a Japenese site but now that link/thread seems to be gone from BR. Anyone know how to find that video again?
  8. There's only Lake Trafford in Naples and that is on the long road back to recovery as they finished dredging it not too long ago. Outside of that there's the subdivision ponds/lakes and channels which you won't need a guide for.
  9. Both. 17+ lbs fluoro is so heavy when you have a lot of line out, that it will transmit bites and everything else well. Braid being non-stretch is also excellent at transmitting the same info. Each has strengths/weaknesses so I use whichever is appropriate at that time. I love each one.
  10. Ugh. Just when we finally got Shimano off that heinous green, now Loomis has to do this.
  11. Thanks for the good info. The trip will be at the end of January. Any recommendations on patterns to be prepared for?
  12. My father lives in Naples and is in his mid-seventies. I was talking to him about going down to the Big O for a couple of days and fish but he had been reading last year how they've been dredging Okeechobee and that the fishing isn't very good there, so I thought I would ask around. I realize January is always a tough month in Florida so ignore the timing and let me know if there are reasons we shouldn't go down this year. If the lake is actually in good shape, any recommendations on renting a boat? Would a guide be pretty much a must?
  13. Color catches more fishermen than fish. I'm in for 3 of each!
  14. You can get the 51E now from TW for $95 shipped, using their 20% off sale.
  15. Please alert Glenn and let him know someone has hacked RW's account...
  16. Have you tried contacting Academy? They do have a Customer Service link on their website...
  17. I have no idea if Academy will have them online - my recommendation is to call them. Here is the add scan: http://www.theblackfriday.com/ads/acad/academy-sports-black-friday-ad2.shtml
  18. Had a Core, sold it; currently have 3 51's. The Core was absolutely gorgeous though, unlike the painful hunter green. Btw, looks like Academy is going to be selling the 50's for $99 on Black Friday.
  19. You need to get a bottle of Mend-It.
  20. This plus: - what JF said about float/sinking between mono/fluoro - abrasion resistance of mono/fluoro for the area you are fishing Ditch the uni-to-uni and switch to the Alberto; much easier and much better.
  21. That knot he used on the widegap (he called it the double-clinch) is the infamous Shaw Grigsby "I have no idea what it's called but it's THE best knot for fluoro" knot. Who knew?
  22. Too close to call - get whichever one looks better/palms better to you. Both excellent reels for the money. Bpro honors competitor coupons so you can bring in a Dicks $15 off $75 and get the PQ for $65..
  23. You know the issue isn't whether you think Wellman cheated, the issue is whether you would turn someone in who has clearly broken a rule. You're already on record for stating twice that even though he broke the rule you wouldn't turn him in because you're not a snitch. Although now you keep trying to change the argument to that you don't think he cheated, and thus wouldn't turn him in; that has not and never was the point here, but of course you know that. You're just trying to do damage control.
