which reel is better a citca or a revo in the similar price range
Very similar reels. I'd get whichever you could score for $89 as that's a good price.

Looking for a baitcaster great for lines between 6lb and 8lb
When you say 6-8lbs line, what kind of line are you referring to? I have a Revo S spooled with 10 lbs Fireline Crystal which has a .008 diameter equivalent to 4lbs mono, and it casts just fine. I'm sure any equivalent reel in that range would also do just as well.

You will get better hooksets with a longer rod ?????????
"Better" is subjective. You will have more power for the same amount of exertion.

Which Baitcaster of these 4?
The guy didn't list any prices for any of the reels. How is it people are able to gauge then whether or not the PQ (or any of those reels) are worth it?

Spinning Vs. Baitcasting
x2. This is the perfect answer. You should get good with both to increase your flexibility.

According to Ish...
Both the results from the studies and the fact people are bending their EWG hooks to address this issue just amazes me that manufacturers have yet to catch on and provide EWG hooks with this. The first one that does is going to get swamped with orders.

SHIMANO REELS
Are we going to have ABU GARCIA REELS PFLUEGER REELS DAIWA REELS threads started by other moderators?

left handed rods
Most of the rods are right handed because that's the hand you winch with. Some people don't winch with their right hand and so a select few rod makers cater to them.

Best non-exspenisive baitcast
Do you want a left or right-handed reel? I only ask as that may impact your buy-used options. However, buying used is the way to go and if Steezy's reel is the hand you want, you need to jump on it.

Ikes ganna be an abu guy!!
Are you implying the Pocket Fisherman is *not* all that? If so, I think you and I are going to have to take it outside...

Ikes ganna be an abu guy!!
Steve - the reel wars are a source of entertainment on here; don't take everyone so seriously as they are having a lot of fun with it in this thread.

Anyone know how to get the Abu Garcia REVO reel apart?
x2 Teaching yourself skills like these can be immensely rewarding even if you make a few boo-boos along the way. It is a hobby after all.

80 dollar spinning reel and 240 dollar rod?
I noticed alot of the Pros prefer to back-reel their spinning reels when they have a big one near the boat on lighter tackle. Can't say I've tried it myself, however.

daiwa fuego
Don't know the specifics but lines get replaced all the time with the reel manufacturers; eventually the Revo is going to get retired. It's all marketing. If it's better than the Curado, and yet less $$, you can NOT go wrong in getting it.

Dropshotting
How far above the weight did you run that huge worm? i.e. how far above the bottom were you working it? Also, I too use a long leader like JF. That way I can drop shot with my casting setup.

daiwa fuego
That was his point... just wanted to know if the fuego has been discontinued or not Yes. Hence why it's not on the site.

MY VERY COOL LAST BASSMASTER CLASSIC EXPERIENCE
Awesome. That's all, just awesome.

Has anyone read the.......
What stuck out the most to me was 2 truly magnificent fish died because of him - the world record and the DD one that took the bait and the rod overboard because he wasn't paying attention. That was depressing.

How fast is Shimano repair turn around? Updated (FAST!)
Out of curiousity, does Shimano normally charge when repairing a reel that is under warranty?

Good Cheap Baitcast Reel
If that is the combo, I'd go for it. That looks like a very nice setup, especially for $100.

Good Cheap Baitcast Reel
What kind of brakes does the Browning have? Centrifugal, magnetic or both? I doubt any on here have actually used it but if it has centrifugal, it normally will perform well for a beginner. You should, however, be able to get an Extreme or ProQualifier combo in that price range which many here have used and are well thought of. But keep in mind, the best baitcasters in the old days would be as easy to use for the beginner as some of the worst these days and yet people still fished with them. It's all a matter of how much time you want to put into it - even if the Browning isn't user friendly, mastering it will pay large dividends in your skills for the rest of your fishing days. The key will be whether you give up or not before mastering it.

new premier for weightless plastics?
It will cast weightless lures fine. I have the S and the STX (last year's) and no problems with either. If you are new to using a BC, then it may take some getting used to (throwing weightless), but that will be true regardless of reel.
