Heres the scenario
Well avid my friend you gonna have to wait since our weather Saturday was 38 degrees with rain and sleet. Today I'm off but I'm watching my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter while her mother has surgery. Then I work for the next 5 days so needless to say I don't know when I'll be able to hit Toro

Short Arm or Long Arm Spinnerbaits.
If I'm going to throw a single blade then it has to be a short arm, other than that it's all about long arm baits.

How many
That's it? Only 6 members out of 8860 members :-/ I thought for sure redlinerobert, alpster, roadwarrior, or avid would have some salt in their blood.

Positive vs. Negative thinking?
I'm completely confident in my ability to locate and catch fish on any body of water; however this does not mean they are going to bite. Some days are diamonds Some days are stones Some days I should have never left home

Speeding up the site, what can we do?
Some of the problem has to do with your internet provider; I was on Cox Communications and never experienced any problems. Sudden Link bought out Cox and things went down hill since. I use my son's laptop which has wireless internet connection and I never experience any problems. As for donations I would gladly

Which trolling motor do you recommend?
Nothing under 50# thrust

Would this qualify as a jig?
The correct definition is a lead head jig

red hooks
It maybe a gimmick I don't know but I do know the color red has an effect on fish. Black Neon (red flake) Watermelon Neon (red flake) Any red Rat-L-Trap Spinner Baits with red heads Fire & Ice Red Bug Black with a Fire Tail These are just a few colors that unmistakably work, so is it a gimmick? Who knows and farther more who cares? If it catches fish throw it!

Doa shrimp
DOA's are outstanding Speckle Trout bait, one of the best; they should come with a jig already inserted in the bait. Work them the same way you would a Texas Rig or under a popping cork. Other good Speck/Red baits are H & H's Sparkle Beetles 3 & Cocahoe Minnows 3 fished on lead heads, along with their Cajun Spins. I always tip the hook with a piece of shrimp

Heres the scenario
Larry, take R255 east to hwy 135, turn north on hwy191 The main generating dam is on the Sabine River which you will cross first, about two mile up the road is a small dirt road to the right follow it all the way around to the left and you will end up at the creek. If you cross the spillway you've went too far! As for the license thing I'm not sure since the Sabine River is the state border putting Toro Creek in Louisiana. If you go to Yahoo Maps and do a search for Burkeville, Texas you will be able to find is easily, it even shows the dirt road.

How many
How many people here have an angling back ground in salt water fishing? My house in Lake Charles, Louisiana is so close to Calcasieu Lake (Big Lake) I can hear the Tug Boat's engines as the travel the ship channel, its 51.78 miles from the Gulf of Mexico. I spent my summers as a teenager in the 60s working on my uncle's charter fishing/shrimp boats. Fishing the Gulf of Mexico taught me how to locate deep water structure while cashing Specks/Reds taught me how to fish skinny water and sight fishing. I have used these saltwater lessons to improve my bass fishing and my bass fishing lessons to improve my saltwater skills. Tommy T

is foot control that important?
It is a matter of personal preference, I use hand controlled only and have no problem keeping my hands free to fish. There is an adjustment knob that tightens the shaft so it doesn't more with out applying enough force. Adjust this, point the motor in the direction you want to go and step on the big foot switch on the deck. To me with a foot control you are always off balance because you have one foot in the air and you have to be in a certain position in order to use it. Some times I sit some times I wonder around the deck

Boat pulling to the right
That's a big 10-4 there George That appears to be an OMC; if it is you need to adjust it half way between where it is & dead center.
-
Extra Wide Gap
I use a Mustad Straight Shank Denny Brauer Flipping Hook for every thing except Gene Larew's 5 & 6 Salty Hawg Craws then I use Strike King's 5/0 Saber Point offset hook.

Allergies are killing me
Avid I feel your pain year round, I have extremely bad sinus which is aggravated by all the pollen in the air. This is why I actually like winter more than spring; because during the winter every thing is dead. I take antibiotics, some times they work some times they don't.
