NEBassMan is correct about mounting the transducer on your trolling motor being easier to install. If a trolling motor is the only mode of propulsion but if you have an outboard you will only be able to use you finder if the trolling motor is in the water. Solution mount the transducer on the transom, mount the finder on the bow, go to the setup screen of the finder and change the font size till you can see it from where you drive. Tommy T.

I agree with you Ronnie but what I what to know is have any one seen a rod with this big of a gape between the reel set? I love the rod but it's only 5' 6 long which makes it difficult to set hook in deep water. I would like to find one or have one made like it but 6'6 or longer. Tommy T.

While I've never done it for a lure, I've gotten out of the boat twice in the marshes of Southwest Louisiana and waded 20 yds. to get a 6 lb+ bass that were tangled in lily pads.

There's nothing that gets me more PO'd than spinner bait or jig skirts that will not stay put so a couple years ago I found the solution. I bought some small zip ties that are 1/8 in width and 4 long but what makes them really nice is the tag end lays flat against the bait instead of sticking up. Now the bass can't pull my skirt down :-[

I've hunted and fished out of a pirogue which had only a 20 bottom with a 28 beam and 12' in length. The mean of propelling a pirogue is done with a push pole while standing, in order to do this one must learn not to make any sudden moves, forward/backward or side to side. While a rise of 7 will change your center of gravity one must then learn to limit their movements, you would not want to be running around a lot.

I don't have any scientific proof but I have had excellent luck many times with jigs at dawn in the shade during winter. This is totally opposite of every thing I've heard or read which states the sunny areas should produce better but we didn't catch a single fish in the sun? The key to consistently catch bass is to fish areas with prime structure and cover, while bass feed less often in cold water they must still feed to survive.

Kentucky bass in swift current are a blast 8-) I made three trips to Toro Creek below Toledo Bend's dam; water is clear, cold, & fast. Each trip we averaged 10 to 15 bass per person in 6 hrs of fishing with the largest weighing in at around 2 lbs. These bass may be small in size but not in heart ;D

Scott000 I've caught hundreds of bass on Wal-Mart's Renegade Jigs, they are very well made, heavy hooks, thick weed guards, & good skirts. For the price you don't have to worry about hanging one up, just break it off, tie on another and keep chunkin. The only modification you'll need to make is to trim the weed guard about 1/8 beyond the hook point.

Excuse me Bass Pro Shops list the Shimano Cardiff models CDF100A through CDF300A both right and left handed at $99.99 These reels are the same as thier Calcutta except the Cardiff has 1 more roller bearing and cost $90 less. I'll give you the CastAway they are an outstanding rod, I own 2 of them 8-)

If bass do see your line what do they think it is? I do think they can see your line but I don't think they care :-/

Bass must eat regardless of water temperatures; they are cold blooded creatures, so their metabolism slows. They do require a longer time frame in which to digest their food, thus feeding less often. The water does not necessarily have to be shallow to be warmer, murky/muddy water will warm faster than clear. Bass will move to warmers areas only if there is structure/food available to support them, they will not move to an area based on warmth only.
