  1. http://vexilar.com/pages/accessories/accy_transducers_au.html Supposedly, those transducers are fantastic.
  2. ZMan and Strike King 3x series of plastics are the first that come to mind.
  3. Generally, it's better to leave them in the original package unless you are planning on burning through them. Over time they'll dry out on you. This is especially true with the Rage Products (or any product that comes in a clamshell), because they need to stay in the package to maintain the shape of the plastic. You'd be surprised at how many packages you can fit in a 3600 or 3700 size box if you squeeze the air out of the bags. As far as mixing them with Elaztech....DON'T. You'll hate the results. Oh..and don't dip anything Elaztech into JJ's. It will instantly melt.
  4. I'll throw this in there other than just my generic agreement that I made earlier. Lots of the lower end BPS reels are junk. The PQ's are a good quality reel for the price. Arguably the best in the 100 dollar range. I like them more than my Citica. They aint no Curados though. I'll eventually be phasing out my PQ's for Curados. I've got no complaints with the PQ's though. They're durable, cast well, and have served me very well. I've got no real experience with their rods other than the Carbonlites and Crankin Stick. I returned the Carbonlites when the hook keepers started to rust. The Crankin Stick I have is still working just fine. Can't complain at all about that rod.
  5. Norman Deep Little N, or the Little N. Love the Mad N as well.
  6. Your link = no good Just google search it when it pops up, it's the top link.
  7. Wayne, you are the Yoda of wacky riggin ', you can 't expect us young padawans to do the same right away. Young? C'mon now, Raul. Young? You've got lures older than me.
  8. Well I did say it was mild.... Kids go back to school on Monday, my birthday on Sunday, I'm getting in as much fishing this week as possible. Actually have to start working again next week. Weekday trips might not happen as often for a while.
  9. Well, it is Memphis. I doubt theres a very large market for saltwater baits in that area. Your best bet is probably to do some online shopping. Or just buy the spooks they sell, and add a feathered treble. You can tie some feathers on yourself relatively quickly as well.
  10. Went out again this morning. Not nearly as successful as yesterday. Every fish came on a Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm in Watermelon Seed. Fish were all holding on deeper edges next to some of the bulrush, about the same quality as yesterday, but not nearly the quantity. I did lose a larger fish that jumped next to the boat though. Probably was a four or five pounder going by the size of the head.
  11. Save a few more bucks and wait. The increase in quality once you hit the $150 mark is significant. You don't want to skimp on your plastics rod. Otherwise, watch the flea market. You'll definitely find a deal there on some quality gear.
  12. One other benefit of having a leader is that it does give you a breaking point if you get snagged and have a lure you can't retrieve.
  13. Oh god, I want one!
  14. It's nothing new, Vinny. The sports media have always been like that. I like watching the guy play. But watching this each year is just getting old. So is he. He needs to leave while he still has a functioning brain stem.
  15. What happens in this situation though? I buy a new rod, without my knowing though, it was banged either in shipping or in the store. You said there could very well be no outward appearing damage. The rod breaks because of that damage. As far as I'm concerned this is a fishing accident because I've got no knowledge of the damage. What happens in this scenario? I've seen how some employees in stores handle the rods. The customers in stores frequently aren't all that gentle with the stuff on display either.
  16. Congrats! There aint nothin better than have little kids running around to take fishing.
  17. Great fish, Shane. I haven't been able to catch a Red in a long time. Great fighting fish. The fish in the first picture has some great color to it. Gorgeous fish.
  18. Mono is very easy to see underwater. It's makeup forces it to transmit light. The only time I use mono is as a shock leader to absorb impact on something like a moving bait. I leave my leader on all the time on my worming and jig rod. It's a confidence thing with the invisibility of fluoro. Experiment and see what works best for you.
  19. If you ask 10 different people, you're probably going to get 10 different answers and reasons why or why not to. Personally, I'll put on a fluoro leader. Since changing to the Alberto Knot, I haven't broken one off because of the leader to mainline knot. Do what you feel will work best for you. If you deal with rocks a lot, a leader probably isn't a bad idea. Rocks tend to chew up braid quickly. If you're in heavy enough cover, I don't really see the need for it.
  20. No issues as long as you thoroughly wash it down. You should do it after any fishing trip to be totally honest. Takes a few seconds to squirt them down with a hose.
  21. Wow, thats crazy. I was just on Xbox Live, and a buddy of mine was telling me about some ridiculously good meatball sandwiches that Sheetz has.
  22. Another nice fish, Steve. I know the feeling with the heat. It was just ridiculously hot down here today. I got my but whupped by the sun.
