Are The Ri Baits Worth It
The Swamp Donkey was probably one of the best frogs made. I absolutely love those things. I've got two left, and don't plan on losing them any time soon. There was a rumor circulating a while back that they were going to get re-released, but I haven't heard anything about it for a while. I'm still hoping they'll pop back up.

Backyard Bass W/3Yo Son
Killer pic, Robert. Heck of a bass for the lil dude. He's gotten big! Pics like that are just another reason why I love living down here....outside of the rain today. What a freakin monsoon that rolled through.

Dolphin Are Here
Good stuff. I'm hoping to get the boat out next week and do some trolling. I haven't heard any great reports yet this year on Dolphin. Glad to see somebody is catching them. My deep freezer is just about empty, it's definitely time to go out and fill it back up.

New Flippin' Pitching Rod
735 is a nice rod, but it ain't no flipping stick. If you buy it for that, you're going to be very unhappy. The 736 would be a much better choice. Otherwise the 765 Champion is a great rod. If you've got the cash, the Extreme 795 is the way to go for flipping sticks. That thing is a monster.

Show your ride...
Looks great, Robert. I like it better than the one you had previously with the yellow highlights. That thing looks like its doing 100 sitting still. Gorgeous boat. I need to drag my butt up there soon so we can go screw around on Okeechobee.

Gear Ratio For Crankbait Rod
The only time I drop down to a 5.X:1 reel for cranks now is if I'm using something like a hot lips, DD22, or a 6 XD. Otherwise a 6.X:1 reel handles everything else.

Will Be Getting A Stratos Tomorrow 99'
Eesh. For 2800 bucks I'd leap on it, even if the motor had problems. If the hull and all is solid, repowering is an option at that price if the motor is shot.

Will Be Getting A Stratos Tomorrow 99'
There are literally hundreds, if not thousands of places down here that'll do it. The hard part is finding somebody that has a really good reputation. Open up that phone book and start making some calls. I'm sure you can find a Johnson certified place still. If not, both BPS have pretty good service facilities in our area. The one at the Dolphin mall is usually far less crowded than the Dania store.

Sounds like a great deal if the motor checks out. As far as electronics go, looking in your pics, you're getting a very basic Eagle unit. In all honesty though, for what we do down here, you really don't need much more. If I was you, I would look into adding a GPS of some kind at some point. If the boat was well cleaned after any salt use, you might not see salt corrosion. My saltwater boat has none of it, and it's been used heavily. Depending on where it is down here, and what the trailer is made out of, it might rust no matter what. It's just one of those things that can happen with the salty air down here from being so close to the Atlantic. It's amplified if you don't maintain the trailer. Hope it all works out for you, from what it sounds like, you're getting a steal. Wish I had seen it before you.

Yo Zuri Hybrid (Crank/flip/drop)
10 for deeper running cranks. 12 for traps and shallow runners. 12 for worms and football jigs. 15 for c-rigs, jigs, and pitching. I've used 20 for flipping into nasty stuff without a problem, though I prefer braid in this situation. Personally I like 8 for drop shotting, but that's only because I have a lot of very sharp limestone here. I believe RW recommends 6 for all his spinning gear. All regular hybrid, not the ultra soft. Everything else I own has braid on it. I'll make the choice to use braid or hybrid based off of the area I'm fishing.

What Breed Of Dog Do You Own?
Pug. Bought him last year after my previous dog passed. I can't not have a dog around the house. After having large breeds pretty much my entire life, I decided it was time for something smaller. Well, he may be small in size, but the d**n animal thinks he's 30 feet tall.... Older picture when he was around four or five months. He's around 18 months now.

Review: Yo-Zuri Hybrid
Hybrid has become my go to choice in lines. Sure I still experiment from time to time, but I usually come back. I was sold on the strength of it after watching Bassn Blvd pull on it as hard as he could to free a lipless crank from some bullrushes. Ended up having to bring the boat over to it and free it by hand. As far as topwater goes, the line floats until the surface tension is broken. Then it sinks slowly. If you're having problems with it, rub a little wax on the last few feet of line. It'll float like a champ then. Mono will do the same thing, especially after its been fished enough to soak up a little water.

Do Big Baits Always Catch Bigger Fish?
In a word, no. With that being said, I do believe that you'll have a better shot at a giant if you're using a bigger bait. But there is one factor that I think is far more important. Location, location, location. Big fish get caught across the country, especially down here, flipping very small baits. The Gambler BB cricket has caught me plenty of big fish. It's one of the smallest plastics used for flipping.

First Cast And A Nice Peacock
You know the deal Doug, you're more than welcome. Bit of a drive from up in your neck of the woods. Lol. Dwight, I'll fire up the grill. Nodda4me, that particular one was a silent model. Shane, you should like them. I've been pretty surprised at how well they fish down here. No issues at all working them through grass and other nasty stuff.

Oh Boy. New Toy For The Lake...
I like my Jon boat. A lot. With my daughters getting a little bigger, that 32 inch bottom just isn't stable enough anymore for two small kids and myself to mess around in on the lake here at the house. While I was out fishing for a little, I noticed that one of the neighbors on the lake had a boat that hasn't been put in the water in at least a year. I went and spoke to him yesterday and ended up buying it from him. Just needs a good thorough cleaning, the wiring fixed, and a couple of new seats. Best part is the built in live well. Will make taking the girls out fishing with shiners much easier Stock photo of my new electric beast. Basstender 11.3. Got an extra transom TM with it. Gotta hit one of the marine stores today at some point to pick up some new pedestal bases, poles, and a seat. Just need to figure out how to properly mount my bow mount TM on this thing and I'll be good to go. Oh, and it only cost me 200 bucks. A steal considering what they sell for used most of the time on Craigslist. I'll be able to sell my Jon for at least that much.
