Commercial Fishing
Deckhand. I learned what grinding bait, filling bags, and baiting pots was all about. It is miserable back breaking work. I did it right after I got off of active duty, I was in d**n good shape at the time. Plus, being the low man on the totem pole gets you all kinds of other "fun" tasks to do...... Toilets get clogged often.....

Floro And Snell Knot
It works just fine. Just make sure you take the time to cinch the knot down properly. I've used many different types of smell knots with fluoro and haven't had a problem.

Commercial Fishing
I did a season crabbing in Alaska when I had a girlfriend that lived there at the time. Was decent money. I don't think I'd want to make a career out of it though. Risk just isn't worth the reward IMO. I will say this, it was definitely an interesting experience.

Citica For $120 Worth It
The MSRP on them when they were he curren model was $119. Was a great buy then. Now, you can get them far, far cheaper. Still one of my favorite reels.

It's very, very hard for me to find a sandwich that I like more than a traditional Cuban sandwich. Soooo good.

Smartphone Recommendations???
Love my iPhone. Couldn't be much happier with it. Being able to use flash would be nice, but it's really not that big of a deal.

Nba Eastern Conference Finals
I'm not going to get into a ticking contest with this thread. Man, what a beat down in every aspect that game was. LeBron showed why he's one of the greats last night. Looking forward to another game at the AAA on Saturday night. I'm just glad to see that the refs have backed off some. The calls were getting a bit ridiculous in the first few games, for boh sides. There were some clear fouls last night on both teams not called. Gotta let them guys play hard playoff ball. As a fan of the game, I'm looking forward to seeing an OKC and Miami series. OKC and Boston just wouldn't have the same appeal as watching Durant and James go at it. I love this time of the year!

Just Went To Tackle Warehouse
If Tackle Warehouse don't have it, odds are you don't need it. About the only place I shop locally now are the smaller independently owned places. I do make an occasional order from BTD as well.

Lake Okeechobee Fatty
Awesome, Shane. I had a feeling you'd find some fish out there. You stay down south or make the trip to the north end?

The End Of Bass
There are these crazy things called oceans down here. If bass do disappear, I'm sure I'll be able to find another fish or two to catch.

Ahhh...the Joys Of Living In The Country.
Party at Roberts house!!! Grats on finally getting into the new place. I know youve been waiting for a bit to get in there. Sounds like a blast. Expect me to come a knockin if I ever make it out that way again. I miss having a ton of privacy. When I got into my place there was nothing here. It's slowly become busier and busier over time. Almost enough to tempt me to move again. That darn lake in the back is the only thing keeping me here right now.....

Is This A Good Deal?
Braver man than me. Don't think I'd want to go out in the Glades in a small Jon, and I've got big brass ones... Ive seen them gators. But if you're hell bent on it, I can sell you a 12 footer with a title locally for a pretty cheap price. Needs some work, but hey, it'll be cheap. Nothing you can't do without some basic hand tools.

Kotg Classic

Cranking Rods
Exactly. The 705 cb glass is a fantastic rod. You can literally throw any kind of crank on any kind of line with it. I can bomb a dd 22 out on it, the 765 will bomb it out a wee bit further. I just prefer the shorter rod for most fishing we do down here. You can very accurately cast with that 7 footer.

Welcome New Moderator!
I was wondering when this thread would pop up when I read his intro piece in the mods trade last night..... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo Grats, Jeff. Keep up the good work bud.

Is Kvd Fooling Us?
About the only SK cranks I have regular success on are the 1.5's and the Red Eye Shad's. I've had isolated success on most of the others, but I haven't really developed much confidence with them. As far as lipless go, it's usually an Aruku, Xcalibur, Red Eye, or the Yo-Zuri. I've really become a fan of the Aruku Shad lately. Those things just catch fish. Shallow cranks are normally the SK 1.5, RC 1.5, orXcalibur. For 99% of the crankbait fishing I do down here, those cover pretty much everything.

Line Setup For Punching'
If you're punching, generally you don't need a leader unless the water is very, very clear. Even then I still don't think it's going to matter. As far as which knot, the Albright or Modified Albright knots are the way to go. Forget the rest of them. Learn how to tie one of them right and you'll probably never break off at the connection knot again. If the knot is getting stuck in the tip top guide, simply use a shorter leader.

Birdsnest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(Backlash)
Tools to have handy for backlash removal: Toothpicks Crocheted latch hook tool Ice pick Prayers if it's a bad one Scissors Use all of the above with some patience. If you're using mono or fluoro and have to start using those, you're better off trashing the line and respooling.

S. Florida Weekend Round-Up?
Good luck, Mike. Go get em. Okeechobee is just fun right now. Went out and messed around with Robert for a good chunk of the day. Didn't land any giants. Boated a four, a few threes, and a bunch of ones and twos. Think we boated roughly 50 fish today. Most of the fish on the lake were on the outside edges of Kissimmee grass, the wind made fishing that stuff a bit on the hard side though. Sat in the canal for the last hour and got into a bunch of schoolies and just stroked them. Literally catching fish each cast, sometimes both of us each cast. All small fish, but just stupid, goofy fun. I think every bait we tried landed fish. They're hitting everything including the kitchen sink right now up on the north end. I think that's the first time I can honestly say I've caught fish on every rod I took with me.
