  1. 7 days a week. Whether its standing on the dock, going out with some of the forum members, or taking the boat out offshore to spend a day trolling, I'll be doing some sort of fishing every single day. Sometimes it may be only for an hour, sometimes it's for the entire day and night. You can count on me wetting a line at some point no matter what.
  2. Ain't that the truth. Lol. Like the old saying goes, a bad day of fishing beats working any day of the week.
  3. You're kidding me, right? Grass = bass. Plain and simple. The hard part is finding where in the grass the bass are. Sometimes you need to go light and stay up near the surface, other times you need to punch it straight to the bottom. To directly answer your question, yes it is possible. I do it on a regular basis with no problems.
  4. Long sleeves? Every time I go fishing. Doesn't matter if it's hot, cold, or in between. I wear Columbia long sleeved shirts, a Buff for my head, and I've started wearing Buff gloves now as well. Not the cheapest clothing in the world, but when you consider the problems that can come from not wearing it, it's well worth the investment. I've been tempted to pick up some pants at some point also. I've had some days where I've been burned something fierce on the back of my calves. Not fun at all.
  5. As much as I hate admitting it, when things get tough, I break out the old Senko myself. Those stupid little stick baits are almost tailor made to fish the mostly shallow, grassy waters we have down here. When things get really tough, I'll almost always have one rigged up. Like Gar-tracker mentioned though, we're kind of in a transitional period for bass fishing. Before too much longer, fish will be actively biting again once they get accustomed to the hotter temps. Time to start moving into the summer patterns. That may work for Largemouth, but Peacocks are a different beast entirely. It's not too common to catch them on plastics. Usually something flashy and moved very erratically will do the trick for them. Go figure though, I got out for a few moments this afternoon on my lake here, and Peacocks are pairing up and starting to bed again. I guess some of the oddball weather has triggered another spawn for them. I worked on one for a good 20 minutes, just couldn't get him stuck. Probably in the six or seven pound class. Man I love those fish. Blue Lagoon has some massive Peacocks in it. If you want to almost guarantee yourself some fun there, stop and pick up a couple dozen live shiners. Go out and just have a blast.
  6. Said it once, I'll say it again, finesse fishing is nothing more than a state of mind. You can finesse a one ounce jig, and you can power fish a 1/32 ounce jig.
  7. X2 I've used pretty much all of the different brands. Each one has their pros and cons. Personally, I've found that Owners have never given me a reason not to like them.
  8. Been pretty bad out there for a good while now. There's a reason you're not seeing many reports about it.
  9. Size don't matter, all about the motion.
  10. While I like the 735 Dobyns, I'm in love with the 736 for frogging. Some people say that it's a little to fast to walk a frog, others tend to like it. Personally I've found myself as part of the second group. I haven't found a spot yet where that rod can't get used for a frog.
  11. Heard it earlier. Definitely a sad day in the music world. Gonna have to crank up some Beasties tunes tonight.
  12. That was the very first thing I thought of. I'm generally a fairly calm person now, but something like that would have set my off almost instantly. Funny how the guy whipped out the cell phone to snap a picture of the jon as it pulled away.
  13. Yep into the finals. I doubt they'll win. They're going to be missing far too many important players. Bayern is playing at home, without missing many pieces. It will be very, VERY difficult for Chelsea to take this one. I'll never say Torres has redeemed himself because of one goal. If they don't win it all, it don't mean squat. He's been pretty ineffective ever since he left Liverpool. I like the guy, but I don't see him playing where he is for much longer if he doesn't break out all of a sudden in the finals. I'll still be watching.
  14. Update: Week and a half, still haven't had one. Pretty wild the difference a week makes. Stuff all smells and tastes different. Breathing is improving each day as well. So far so good. It's honestly amazing how bad somebody else smells when they walk into a room after having a smoke. For those of you thinking about quitting, just do it. After the first week it's far, far better. I still get the cravings for some nicotine, but they're getting far less frequent, and far less intense, thank God.
  15. This man speaketh the truth.
  16. What he said. Dollar for dollar, it's a really hard rod to beat.
  17. There isn't a crank you can't throw pretty darn good on a 705CB Glass. Love mine so much I bought a second.
  18. You are aware of what the word mono means I hope. Fluorocarbon is a mono where co-poly is not a true mono. Just throwin that out there. That being said, I've used co-poly for years and have never had a real complaint with it. You kind of get the best of both worlds with it. I doubt I'll ever go out fishing without it on a couple of reels.
  19. I agree with all of it but one thing. I still think the Citica is the better value versus the Curado. Not that the Curado is a bad deal, I'm just looking at it from a dollars versus performance standpoint.
  20. MAAAAAWMM!! Phineas and Ferb are making a title sequence!! Eric approves of this show....
  21. Exactly. Hell, I'll still use that 6.3:1 for deep cranking if I can get away with it for a while.
  22. Stories like that are just one of the many reasons I decided to get it over with. Sorry to hear it. As far as fishing goes, hopefully my arm will be feeling better soon and I'll let you know. I overworked it a bit too much the other day. Whoops....
  23. They're a major reason. The shiny new lady friend is another. The way I figure it, if I can make it through BCT and Ranger school, quitting smoking isn't going to be a bother. Sucks for a few, but it'll pass. I will say this, I've forgotten how much I enjoyed the gym and working out. Glad my body is remembering it. It's also helping a bunch to deal with the cravings.
  24. Hard to really put it much better than that.
  25. Easiest way to find out is to heat it up a little and see if it pushes down any. More than likely it's perfectly fine. Its a minor manufacturing defect. It would probably bug me enough that I'd have to at least see if it wanted to move a little....
