  1. Good to hear it. We get to see nests down in my area every once in a while. Unfortunately the most recent few nests have been near very populated areas. Thankfully the FWC comes around and posts guards to keep people at a good distance from them. Close enough to get some pictures though, which is fine by me.
  2. Was waiting for you to join in on this one. In all honesty though, if the wind is blowing, my little boat gets moved around a bunch. I tend to have slack in my line more often than I'd like when using bottom contact baits.
  3. I've cut back a lot on my soda habit. Love the stuff, but I've realized that I need to start cutting back on some of the junk I've been putting in me. Already dropped quite a few pounds this year just by cutting down on some stuff. Soda being my major vice. Man it's bad for you, but d**n is it ever good.......
  4. I keep a 12 pack of Pepsi in the fridge at all times. Pepsi first, then ice, if I actually remember to do it. When you pour a cold can of soda over ice, it foams up far more than normal.
  5. I'm just sayin, most of the planet would disagree with you.
  6. Probably not as many people as you think. With the excessive wealth of knowledge out there now, anglers are becoming more and more educated as to what makes a good rod. Plus, each person will have his or her own likes and dislikes when it comes to certain rods/blanks.
  7. I'd agree with them. The more slack in braided line, the less you feel. Fluoro transmits strikes extremely well on a slack line. Conversely, on a tight line, it's hard to beat braid.
  8. I've got to say it at least once before my hopes are crushed... LET'S GO MARLINS!!! That being said, I am looking forward to opening day at the new ball park. It's absolutely gorgeous. Shame it's in a horrible location.
  9. Guess the woman who did that review really liked the place. Personally, I'd prefer to eat elsewhere for Italian food. Plenty of much better, smaller places around here for me to enjoy. Last time I was at an Olive Garden, I blew the CV joints in my old Mazda. Haven't gone back to one since.
  10. Agreed. I absolutely love my 200 DPV's. Big, heavy, beast of a reel. But I'll be damned it it isn't a fantastic cranking reel.
  11. Congrats Red!! Enjoy it in good health.
  12. Visit South Beach. Seriously. You're guaranteed to see some of the most oddball stuff and some of the strangest people ever. When I was installing SOBE W&FF a couple of weeks ago I witnessed some of the oddest stuff. Within the span of twenty minutes I watched a witch doctor trying to bless the sand, a drag queen randomly singing and dancing on Ocean Drive, and some guy practicing to be in a carnival. He strapped a ratchet strap between a pair of palms and did his thing. Until he fell and tried to castrate himself on the strap.....
  13. You know Steve, after seeing so many big fish posts from you, I've realized one thing.... You stink!!! . Awesome fish as usual partner. Looks like a helluva day.
  14. Haven't found a lure from them I don't like. Love the squarebills, rattlebaits, and the zell pops. Top quality finishes and the stock hooks aren't bad at all. Worth the money you'll spend on them.
  15. Yep. Just read it a few moments ago. Completely agree with the decision. Guy was breaking the law, caught a giant, and tried to get his name into the record books. Pretty funny that he may end up fined for it and faces jail time as well.
  16. Nice fish right there, Sqhertz. Glad to see you getting back out and catching. WTG buddy!
  17. There won't be much bed fishing going on Okeechobee for the Elites. The fish have done their thing and are gone from the beds. Post spawn feeding right now. I'm sure if you search around enough you'll still find a couple, but it won't be like last year on the Harris Chain.
  18. Love it. Love watching the EPL and La Liga. I still watch a little Serie A from time to time, though the lineup for AC Milan has changed so much I've lost a little interest in them.
  19. One of the Lane brothers, Scroggins, or a guy like Grigsby. I would want to be there with somebody that really knows the lake. Florida guys fishing one of the most famous Florida lakes = a winning recipe for learning something good.
  20. Navionics is definitely my favorite. There are others I dabble with, but none more than that one.
  21. Looks to be an older line. http://forums.basspro.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=012387
  22. Probably for me a custom Bamboo fly rod tailor made to catch Peacocks here in southern Florida. As far as the reel goes, I couldn't tell you. Something with a darn good drag on it. I've never fished with a bamboo fly rod personally. Just sounds like it would be so much fun. I don't think my wobbly bits are big enough to try fly fishing for Peas down in Brazil.....
  23. Agreed, Snook. It seems that a lot of the inland waterways down here are getting worse and worse. Some of the debris I've seen recently has been downright disgusting. I expect there to be some, that's part of life. But I'll be damned if it hasn't gotten really bad over the last year or so.
  24. So I recently picked up a DX 744 & 745 along with a 705CB Glass. Love them. Almost too much in fact. I need to pick up another pair of Champions to go along with those three. I'm going to be replacing a pair of flipping sticks, yet I need to be able to use them as multi purpose rods as well. I think the new 804c will fit the bill for my lighter flipping rod as well as my paddletail rod. After speaking with Richard on the phone yesterday it sounds like it would be perfect, though I'm a little hesitant about buying a rod that very few people have used, much less seen. I'm also not sure about the 8 foot length. The other rod I'd really like to handle my heavier grass flipping, as wel as pull double duty as my frog rod. This is the one that is really confusing me. From what I understand the 735/736 are great frog rods, but not really suited for flipping because of the tips on them. Any of you out there used the 765/766 for frogs as well as flipping. I generally use plastic toads, but there are days down here on Okeechobee where nothing beats a hollowbelllied frog. Hopefully somebody out there has enough experience using what I'm looking for. I'm really trying to limit myself to 5 rods. I primarily fish out of a small boat on electric only lakes, but I do make several trips a year to some of the larger Florida lakes with friends. Bringing more than 5 rods on somebody else's boat is just overkill IMO. I've got a hard enough time trying to keep my tackle selection minimal, I don't need to confuse myself more having too many rods. Thanks a bunch guys.
  25. Agreed. I got a giggle at the fact that after the press conference today, he jumped on Irsay's plane and landed at the Opa-Locka airport a few hours later. I'd love to see Wayne playing back down here in front of the home team again also.
