  1. OH MY GOD TOM! Thank you SO much, it took me like 10 minutes! It was SO much easier than I thought! You're definitely on my favorite person of the year list! Thanks again!
  2. Thanks alot Tom, sounds easier than I thought! I'll let you know how it goes!
  3. Ok, so i didn't get to it tonight either... all i really need to know, is do I have to do anything special to get the hinge pins out, or do they just tap out?
  4. I haven't yet, but I haven't really tried since I posted this either, got busy yesterday. I'll give it try tonight after work and see where it gets me and then let you know. Thanks so much!
  5. This is the before pic... like the "anchor"? He let it go with the boat! A couple of pics while painting, building removable floor, and installing seats. And the whole shebang. (floor wasn't finished yet, I kept pulling it out to go fishing!) I call it, The Grape Escape!
  6. Hi guys, I wrote awhile back about a problem with my Minn Kota Endura 50, after some more research I found that I had broken the t-bar, so I took someones advice and went to trollingmotorparts.com. I got my t-bar replacements today, and I've looked up a schematic for the motor, I think I can manage this by myself, but I'm curious, does the hinge pin just tap out? I've given it a couple whacks, but I'm afraid to hit it too hard, has anyone replaced a t-bar? Replies much appreciated!
  7. Did you ever get this figured out? The same piece is broken on mine... I'd love some insight. Thanks
  8. So the last time I took my boat out , I noticed that the transom trolling motor wouldn't lock in place, one of the little plastic nubs that locks the motor at an angle as broken off (am I making sense?) I've searched for trolling motor transom mounts, and I'm not having any luck finding someone who sells that part of the unit. Maybe I'm not calling it the right thing? Hoping to get this fixed before the water gets soft, anyone have suggestions where I could find such a thing? Thanks in advance!
  9. I'm actually one of very few people who love hot and humid weather. Right there with you!

  12. Don't be afraid to try something new... Ask yourself, if I were a fish, would this look edible to me?
  13. I too am glad to see that we are conspicuous in our absence! I can't speak for any of the other ladies, but in the summer my computer gets sorely neglected. I've been too busy putting a floor in my boat (all done, looks great!) and catching my personal best largemouth at 4lbs and in Wisconsin, that is not a fish to sneeze at!
  14. After reading these replies I'm glad I have a little boat. Back down, get out push the boat off the trailer and tie it up. Loading, I grab the rope in one hand and the winch strap in the other, get the boat straight with the rope and connect the strap quick and then start cranking. 12 foot and fairly light makes it easy enough to straighten on the trailer if need be. It also helps I usually dress to get wet when fishing and don't mind going in the water at all. And I LOVE taking my boat out by myself! ;D
  15. Didn't they repeal the barbless hook/artificial bait thing last year? Still catch and release though.
  16. I realize that in other parts of the country/world the season never really ends, but here in the great white north we're gearing up for the start of the bass season, not to mention just being able to fish open water! My question is, do you have any particular goals for this fishing "season"? Mine are... 1. Catch a fish on a football head jig. I don't know if it's lack of patience or what, but I just can't seem to accomplish this. 2. Become more adept at reading my fish finder, I just got it in the fall and I've been using it on "cheater" mode. 3. Use more cranks, I always end up using plastics. So, anyone else?
  17. Going fishing with my mom was the highlight of my childhood, I did get bored often and wander off to play in the water or catch frogs. As I got older, I had "better things to do". I came back to fishing in my 20's when my kids were little, but trying to fish while baiting and unhooking for 4 little people got to be frustrating, especially when it was sometimes me that I was unhooking! After awhile I gave up. They've all gone with me since they've been teenagers, but of course more and more they're finding "better things to do". My daughter is the only one who shows any real interest, and when she gets bored she takes pictures or reads, she just loves to be in the boat. Maybe they'll come back to it when they're older like I did. I see quite a few kids fishing here in Wisconsin, but it also seems like the outdoors is a far larger part of the culture than where I grew up in Illinois. I ran into this little guy last summer, he couldn't have been more than 9, talked to me about fishing with a passion that I recognized. There was nothing in the world he'd rather do, I wanted to take him home and talk to his mom about taking him fishing with me sometimes, but I can only imagine how I'd react if some stranger came to me with a question like that. It's sad but you can't trust anyone. Kids like that make me wish I had a spare boat lying around, the way he was drooling on my little tin boat made me want to give it to him!
  18. This sounds like fun, I didn't really get back into fishing until I moved up to north central wi, so it would be cool to try some places south of here. Any objections to girls on the outing? I fish like a dude!
  19. Got a video camera this year. Can't wait to start workin on my own fishing show:p
  20. From what I heard, he was wild caught to begin with. He'd probably be ok in the wild again. I'd at least give him that chance if the only other option was death. I also read, that among wild Orcas, there was only one reported human death ever. They're known for not only not killing people, but working with them. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_whales_of_Eden,_Australia
  21. My oopses seem to always happen when someone else is around to see them, where are these people when I catch a decent fish? Only left the plug out once, and discovered it before I launched, but it had bounced into the drain hole of my third seat, and a kind gentleman helped to fish it out. I think it was that same trip, we got into the water and realized that the PFD's were at home. One other time, I forgot to put them in the boat, and had to row all the way back across the 60 acre lake to the landing. The worst one I think, was when I was using a private landing (with permission) and the owner had already helped me back the rig down (was just learning) and I was trying to launch the boat, pushing and shoving and it wouldn't budge off the trailer. The landing owner was also kind enough to point out that I'd forgotten to unhook the bow strap. DOH! Can't wait for the water to open up!
  22. Very cool idea, thanks for setting it up. I've been lurking around here for about a year now, and often wondered how many other fisher chicks were on the forum!
  23. I was actually thinking about this last winter, did some searching and ran across this site http://www.beaverlakefrontcabins.com/fishing.html Sure, a whole lake would be a better deal, but combined with the other amenities this could make for an amusing weekend. Winter sure is long up here, and right about now a puddle with some minnows would look enticing.
  24. Redneck or not, that is way too cool. I've saved the pic for future reference... in case I ever manage to live on the water.
  25. Been doing this since I was a kid, my mom taught me. Works on bullheads too.
