  1. Genius. I will be stealing/slightly modifying this idea!
  2. Haha so true!! I wonder where those people are now...
  3. Try Snagproof's Bobby's Perfect Frog or Ish's Phat Frog. Both are completely waterproof because the chamber for the hook is separate from the body!
  4. I'm looking to get a pair of waders to fish a few shallow ponds and rivers that are less than 3 feet deep. I would be fishing in them when it is hot out, so I'd like for them to be cool and breathable. Because of this reason, should I avoid chest waders because they would be too hot? How do you guys feel about waders that have boots attached vs. the ones that don't? I've never owned a pair of waders or wading boots before, so any input would be greatly appreciated. If there are any specific brands that you would recommend, I'd love to hear about them as well.
  5. That sounds promising, thanks for the info. What about the net material? It seems like it would be a nightmare to try and untangle a treble hook from it...
  6. This topic has been debated over and over again. I believe the final conclusion was that they are the exact same bait. Just packaged in different quantities so prices are different.
  7. Awesome story and fish! Side question though: how do you like that net? That is the Frabill Kwik Stow Folding net, right? I've been eyeing it but I don't know if it can hold bass well.
  8. Seems strange to make a frog with exposed treble hooks. I usually would not opt to throw a frog lure while in open water, but I guess under certain conditions it could be useful...
  9. I just got a bunch of flick shake jig heads, but the worms themselves are out of my price range for now. Has anyone used other worms that work well with the flick shake technique? I know the flick shake worm is curved at the end so that it wobbles on the descent, but doesn't a senko also wobble when it sinks? What's the difference?
  10. I believe that technique is called the "neko rig"
  11. All I have to say is that "natural" looking baits are not always the best. It depends on how the bass perceive it. How many "natural" brush hogs do you see alive and swimming in the water? How many real animals look like a wiggling stick worm jumping off the bottom and swimming down again? Have you tried that bait in smallmouth waters? They go crazy for orange belly. I would take an orange belly over natural on any day.
  12. Do you guys find more success with the suspending or floating Norman Deep Little N?
  13. My only concern with these duolock snaps is that they make the overall rig less weedless. Since these will be dragged on the bottom, the snap will pick up lots of weeds when it gets warmer. Think about it, would you put a duolock snap in front of your texas rig or attached to the weight on the bottom of your drop shot rig?
  14. VERY interesting observation. This saves an extra rod for tying another application.

The one that immediately comes to mind is made by Chompers: http://www.chompers.com/products.asp?cat=10 A little bit cheaper. In terms of quality, I cannot comment because I have never tried them before. Can someone who has fished with them share their thoughts?
  16. I'm going to agree with Hooligan on this one. In gin clear water, I would highly recommend a transparent or translucent bait. You don't want the bass to get a good look at the bait, just force a reaction strike. I like the Pro Blue, Ghost Minnow, and Clear Chartreuse Shad colors. If you absolutely must use an X-rap, try one in Olive Green color
  17. Bad ones? What about them are bad, and how are they still being sold?
  18. x2. I wrote a review about these rods a while ago and most of our points are exactly the same. I can't believe they are selling for $78 now. That can only mean that not many people are buying them. I really hope Fenwick does not discontinue this line of rods. That would be a huge loss.
  19. I want to use some oil to lubricate my bearings in my baitcasting reels and have a bunch of little oil bottles that came with my shimano and abu garcia reels. Are these good enough quality or should I purchase another brand of oil?
  20. It's on the top of my Christmas list. http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-Kevin-VanDam-Fishing-Adventure-Play-Set-for-Kids/product/1201091105253/359611
  21. If the selling point is that it walks well, and that's why this bait is good, then I can't see it being more successful than a spook. This is just another one of Strike King's baits that they put out so that they have a bait for all techniques. I'm not too excited about this one.
  22. Do you fish the staysee like a crankbait? I thought it was a DD jerkbait?
  23. These debuted at ICAST this year and instead of releasing what they showed, Gamakatsu released a red jig head that has a strange shape that is supposed to make it wiggle on the fall. Here is what they showed at ICAST: Does anyone know what happened to the Saiko Series Wacky Jig Head? I've been waiting since July to get my hands on them.
  24. I had a verdict for a season and I hated it. Way too stiff and sensitivity was lackluster. There are much better rods in that price range.
  25. Here's a 1 piece L Shimano Clarus for a phenomenal price: http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shimano174-Clarus-Spinning-Rods/703848.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dshimano%2Bclarus%26x%3D0%26y%3D0%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=shimano+clarus&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products&rid=10&WT.tsrc=AFF&WT.mc_id=k1971#productChart
