  1. it was a joke muddy
  2. I'll agree with you guys about brooks (I've probably seen history of the world pt 1 over 100 times). But I do love me some woody allen. Especially Annie Hall and Manhattan. As far as his later stuff I've only really liked Vicky Christina Barcelona and now this new one. But my view may be blurred about VCB because Scarlet Johansen and Penelope Cruz made out.
  3. Yeah I was there. Took the brown paper though, I never made it back till last Thursday.
  4. So I'm finally doin' it. I've been kayak fishing for the last few years and I've come to the point we're I'm gunna step it up to a 12 foot jon. I've been combing craigslist for the last few weeks and I just came across a guy who is getting rid of a bunch of v-hulls and jons. I told him to save me a 12 with carpet and to seat mounts and tomorrow I'm gunna go take a look and as long as it is what he says it is give him a deposit and pick it up once I get a hold of my buddies truck to pick it up. So naturally I'm here to ask you knowledgeable BRers about basically everything I plan to do with the boat before I do it. I'll be purchasing the seats, trolling motor and battery all over the next two weeks as well as begin customizing the boat to what I have pictured in my head, so here are my initial questions: How many lbs thrust trolling motor should I purchase for a 12 foot that will usually be carrying 2 people? (It'll be a Minn Kota) As far as batteries go, what brands and how much power should it have to match that motor? Is it necessary to have a separate battery for the fish finder or will one do the trick? Is a 12 foot large enough to built a small deck on and have it remain safely stable? I plan to build one from bow to the front of the first bench seat. That's all I got so far, I'll post some pics as soon as the boat is in my driveway. Thanks, Big Phish
  5. Well then when are we going out D4u2s0t? I need a connection to get on that water.
  6. For anyone who is interested it was great. One of Woody Allen's best in recent years.
  7. So I'm a huge fan of both Woody Allen and Larry David and now that this movie is coming to some local theaters, I'm gunna go see it tonight. I was just wondering is anyone has seen it and can let me know how it is without any spoilers.
  8. Zel, i've heard areoflex is a real pain to fish due to the extreme amounts of pads and trout stocking. But maybe I'll give it a try. Fortunately white and chart are my go to colors in spinnerbaits so i've got plenty, but i've never tried slow rolling them for fishing depth. Do you suggest weighting them for that or just using a very slow retrieve?
  9. So has anybody been having any luck lately. personally i've been havin a lot of slow days.
  10. "Having no a/c, being fat, and living in the deep south is a recipie for disaster." I just laughed so hard my girl woke up
  11. chicken and rib crib here in jersey makes a sauce called 24 karot. its like a tangy spicy honey mustard type thing that is unbelievable. I buy it by the quart from them and use it on all sorts of stuff.
  12. Just make sure you have the weekapaug from wocester '98 blaring in your hospital room as soon as you come to after the operation. that will make the whole thing a lot easier to deal with. but seriously, sorry to hear it and get well soon...
  13. I disagree that they are a legitimate threat. A publicity stunt like this just proves that they really have no idea what they doing, and shows how ridiculous their priorities are.
  14. I figured you guys would get a kick out of this, being that PETA hates us all, especially those of us that hunt. PETA asked Phish to change their name to "Sea Kittens" because of how great of an animal Sea Kittens are and they don't get the credit they deserve for being such great animals. 15. There used to be a sign on the ice chest outside of a convenience store near me that read "Please do not seat on the freeze"
  16. Nice, looks like you've turned the tables on that floosie
  17. after reading reading the first post i planned to respond with "looks like you got two keepers today" but i guess it's too late for that lame joke.
  18. the fact that she's def workin' that bikini with style and the fact that she supposedly landed that fish makes me want to get married. none the less, i voted for you.
  19. thanks for the site for nj.
  20. Thanks guys... Zel, I was on njbassanglers until they started requiring donations to be a member, which is when I moved here. So I know about most of the spots in NJ I'm really just looking for some suggestions as far as what's hot. I've looked into Areoflex but have yet to fish it, but I forgot about Swartswood. You have any further info on that lake? Also I was recently recommended Silver Lake, which is off 23. Any experience there?
  21. Did anyone else find this to be a little ridiculous...actually a lot ridiculous? Televising something like that just seems like an absurd thing to do. They put that poor 11 year old girl in front of millions of people crying about the death of her father. What's the point? That's something that should be held among family and close friends, not a bunch of people watching T.V. to stare at and discuss. I can understand doing an event of some sort for the public with some performers and what not, but the actual memorial with his casket in the middle of the Staples Center? Anyway if I ever become famous for some crazy reason, I'm definitely going to write up a will that strictly prohibits this. End Rant.
  22. did this require 2 threads
  23. A River Runs Through It.
  24. I assume your talking about upper-greenwood because of the no-gas motor thing. I've never fished it cause it's private, so I can't speak from experience. But what I can tell you is that the spawn is over here in NJ. Now where the big ones are is a tough call right now. Usually I would say look for deep structure like a hump or a drop off this time of year, but with all this rain shallower structure has been producing fish for me in other lakes in the area your talking about. So if I were you I would try to work some deep water structure and some of those shallower stumps and lay downs that I know are around in Upper Greenwood. I like to use senkos when trying to locate fish depth wise because they can cover the whole water column. For just finding where they are in the lake just cruise around with spinnerbaits. I know I've given you a lot of general advice, that anyone could have told you but it's the best I got.
