  1. Just got home from work, I wish I could sleep, but I can't.
  2. I'll join the insomniac fun in the future. I manage a late night food delivery service so I'm up at some real strange hours. And now that the season up here is coming to a close I'm not gunna be hittin' the lakes when I get out of work.
  3. no one cares to discuss the hilarity of the simpsons?
  4. now my bottom's big http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8cyij5pZyg
  5. Alright Pez my boy, don't bother with Deal Lake. We put in 8 hours on that scum hole this past weekend and decided not to even bother with the tourney. We couldn't find water over 5 feet deep and there was almost no bottom structure, we threw an assortment of baits without a tap, it's a good part of the lake is in the middle of the run-down has been city of Asbury Park, it's full of trash and did I mention there aren't any fish?
  6. I'm fishing a tournament there next weekend and I've also never fished it. I'll be pre-fishing it this weekend so if I remember I'll let you know how it goes. All I know about it is it's very shallow (most of the lake is 4-5 feet and the deepest section being 9 feet), the bass feed primarily on Herring which are let in through a flume and there are very many weed beds so the numerous lay downs tend to produce the most fish.
  7. That's pretty good, but in her defense she probably deals with a lot of morons on a daily basis and is simply conditioned to take everything they say seriously. I'm not saying you or your Uncle are morons, but that the general population of America are.
  8. I could tell you of a number of free lakes in PA that contain tons of fish.
  9. I used to feel the same way about the monksville. I will tell you the same thing I was told; keep going back because one day when it's on it will be worth all the seemingly wasted days you spent on it.
  10. Yeah The Monksville tends to be a little tough to fish and doesn't always produce but when it's on, it's spectacular and when it's not it's still beautiful and a great place to just spend a day. It also helps that my buddy's a photographer and knows how to enhance photos.
  11. Yes Robby she's 18, I believe 19 in fact. Any male who would turn her down to go fishing is insane.
  12. Yeah Jersey isn't where your going to find huge bass. We do have a number of quality fisheries, all within a reasonable distance of each other, but as far as bass go nothing huge. The state record is like 10.14 and I've never even heard of anyone catching anything over 7 1/2. basically in jersey a 3 pounder makes your day and you get a fish like this one every so often. This one just felt particularly good because I haven't broken the 4 pound mark since the 6 1/2 I got this spring.
  13. Pulled this out of the Monksville Reservoir yesterday. She came up to hit a black Booyah spinnerbait with a single Colorado blade in about 10 feet off water from a shelf about 10 feet from shore.

    Welcome, check your PMs.
  15. As a matter of fact I just heard today that Canistear, Oak Ridge and Clinton Reservoirs are all killing the smallies right now.
  16. If you get the permit to fish it Canistear res. supposedly has some nice smallies. Also they've been pulling nice ones out of the monksville fishing shelves in 20-30 ft of water.
  17. I totally agree with this. In the past I've wasted too much time doing what the fish are supposed to be doing and not letting them tell me what they are doing. If they aren't biting just keep changing baits and locations until you figure out whats up.
  18. Great vid. I'm gunna go hit the photo albums for some of me and my dads striper trips.
  19. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/spinnerbaits-bass-fishing.html extremely helpful
  20. Personally I keep the bulk of my stuff at home, but this may not work for everyone. I either fish from the shore or a kayak so I'm limited on space. I keep a box with a little bit of everything and update it before I go out depending on what I think I may need for that trip.
  21. Wouldn't that seriously mess with the action?
