A strike on every cast.
Nice, i had one of those days blue fishing in rhode island a couple years ago. We stayed on a school for an hour or two and were throwing all sorts of stuff, including spinnerbaits, and couldn't cast without having a fish on in seconds. Thrilling, aint it?

Zoom Big Critter Craw
maybe try a weight at the top, that might make sit in the water more like a natural crayfish, with its claws up in the air.

I fell in love with the senko
I think it hadn't worked for me in the past was because i didn't give it enough of a chance. after a couple casts i'd throw on a power bait or a creature bait because those were more in my bait comfort zone.

Bass Raider 10e and paddles
I would recommend either a canoe or a kayak. I kayak fish and love it. the only thing about it is you have to have a full set up. A rod holder, rudder, paddle holder, anchor, dry storage, bungies and plenty of space inside are all necessary to effectively and enjoyable kayak fish. I use a pelican, but if you have the cash i would look at Native kayaks. They have some really great fishing kayaks. But if that's not your thing, you might be better off with a jon boat. it'll be easier to paddle than that bass raider and have more space. You can probably even get one on craigslist or something for a lot cheaper. My uncle just got one with a trailer and trolling motor in good working condition for 500$

I fell in love with the senko
Rarely fished these before and never had luck when i did until this weekend. I just didn't see what was so special about em. I started out jig fishing and had no luck, while a guy in a boat nearby was reelin em in every cast. i asked what he had on, and sure enough it was a green pumpkin senko. So I tied one on. I went back and forth between green pumpkin/purple flake 5 inch YUMs and green pumpkin/black flake 5 inch yamamotos yesterday and today and produced more big fish then i have ever before in 2 days. I gotta say i am officially hOOked and I'm not lookin back 8-)

baitcaster VS spinning
I dont know if this has been mention cause i'm not gunna read the whole thread but i prefer baitcasters because spinners always make your line curly after a few days which makes it harder to keep it tight when your fishing stick bates and what not.

i ended up going with the Daiwa megaforce plus 100TSHL. I was sold as soon as the salesman showed me the twitchin' bar. I'm gunna take out on it's maiden voyage tomorrow at spruce run in nj with my new pelican ram-x 10 foot kayak, which is also going to be on its maiden voyage. I love new toys.

Locating smallmouth in a creek
I would add that when looking for deep holes, look for deep holes with rocky shelves. I smallie fish in the northern Delaware every summer and i find that deep holes with rock shelves produce the best smallies. And yes, eddies are great places to find smallies as well.

Spruce Run, NJ
I've been meaning to give this lake a try and I'm looking for some insight from people who have fished it before. I almost went last weekend but decided against it because its big and I'm extremely lazy and I use a kayak. Now I hear that they have motorized boat rentals. Can anyone confirm that they definitely do? Can I get some some tips on where to fish it and what to use? I'm particularly interested in walleye and hybrids, as well and LMs and SMs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This morning I let 3 bass go when they broke the surface. Can anyone give me some tips about what to do when they break in order to keep them on the hook?
