  1. o yeah and John caught a nice hybrid early in the day but i shut his phone without saving the pic. Sorry John.
  2. I'm glad to see this thread as i was about to start one similar. As far as where i fish in this transition, i usually look for steeper shelves and drop offs for obvious reasons. The fish can start to move deep or can remain shallow. My question would be, what changes in tackle can be helpful? What seems to always work this time of year? (besides the standards, ie. senkos, lipless cranks yada yada yada)
  3. and to answer this one, you stand near the water and cast into the water. and that is how you fish without a boat
  4. how many questions do you have pondmaster?
  5. Favorite: Mike D (he's the only one that makes me laugh) Least Favorite: Pondmaster (obvious reasons)
  6. yeah thanks i saw that thread like right after i posted this. I ended up putting in the kayak in and didn't do as well as i had hoped. I might try round valley next week.
  7. Nice fish. It's cool that your dog can just hang on the boat with you. I could never get my dog to mellow out like that.
  8. Has anyone been having any luck in the lakes in the west milford, ringwood, wanaque area this season? I had a great time spring fishing in shepherd pond but the bass are starting to get deep into the pads, making the fishing tough. I'm thinking about giving the monksville another chance but my patience in wearing thin with that lake.
  9. In theory i think this is a great idea. the only problem would be i dont think they would be able to consider information from someone who has been forced to funnel beer heavily credible.
  10. If you could go back in time and relive one moment, event or time period in history what would it be? Personally I might have to go back to the Last Waltz with the Band.
  11. totally agree. i shopped around A LOT when i bought my last rod and for the price i really feel like i got the best possible rod.
  12. I'm looking to do some smallie fishing and in northern nj it seems like the passaic river might be my best bet. I was just looking for some access points. if anyone could give me some park locations or anything along the river that may produce some smallies, it'd be greatly appreciated.
  13. Welcome, check your PMs, i'll send you a list of some of my honey holes...just keep em to yourself!
  14. LMAO at "what can i get for like a 20$"
  15. P.S. It's still in the tree
  16. I fell in a couple days ago reaching into a tree trying to get my favorite rattle trap back.
  17. thanks for the tip, road warrior. i'll make the switch tomorrow. although the 1/0s have been working out fine for me.
  18. Furbit - I think the hook style and size is totally up to personal preference depending on size of the bait and condition. I've been using 5 inch senkos with 1/0 open G gamagatzo (i'm sure i spelled that wrong) and it works well.
  19. i recently started using scent too and i did a little experiment. i fished a green pumpkin senko, with scent and started to hook into fish. by maybe the 3rd fish i replaced the senko with no scent and 2 casts later hooked up again. so basically i'm not convinced that scents make a difference.
  20. excellent advise
  21. Just thought i'd let dmac know i've been using the hell out of the twitchin bar since i got it and i have 0 complaints. Maybe i'll run into trouble down the road, but for now it's working out great
