  1. I'll second old crow medicine show. Also here's a short list of my favorites. Tony Trishka (Check out the "Double Banjo Bluegrass Spectacular" album) Yonder Mountain String Band David Grisman Bela Flek Definitely get yourself some Earl Scruggs if you don't have some already. Del McCoury Those are all my "go to's" as far as bluegrass goes. If you want me to upload some music for you have plenty of live stuff that is legal to freely exchange I can send you. Also check out archive.org and search Bela Flek or Yonder Mountain. Tons of live concerts from both of them are on there to stream or download.
  2. My parents have a pool on their backyard. It's perfect. I throw inner tubes in it and cast in them. It also helps when your using a new bait because you can clearly see the action.
  3. So I've given them a few honest tries now and I've had no luck, and I've been using them in my regular spots where I can almost always catch fish. When I started this thread I thought I knew how to fish them but maybe I need a little help? I tried them with the weighted 4/0 G hooks, like the kind you would use for a fat ika and I tried just a regular weightless texas rig. I've been both reeling them straight in and I've also been pausing them and jerking them and nothing have shown any results. Should I be doing something different?
  4. Did BR filter sucks in this thread title? Or did you just do that? If it was a filter that's a little ridiculous.
  5. Nice, that whitney lake bass is looking really healthy. Also the colors on that Pike look really vibrant.
  6. I'm pretty sure there's a launch in Phillipsburg, NJ, but I bet there's one on the PA side even closer to you. I only fish the upper Delaware because it's a million times more remote and definitely more scenic. We do 12-15 mile trips that last all day without seeing a single other boat and only a handful of houses. Anyway I'm sure if you ask at any bait shop nearby they can tell you where any number of ramps or access points in your area are.
  7. I don't really bother with online reports but I always find somebody loading or unloading when I'm putting the kayak in the water and find out what's working...if anything.
  8. Nothing like a good case of the wa-wa's. Wa wa wa wa wa wa wa..... Songs with helicopter sounds only add to the fun ;D (Metallica, Pink Floyd) Ah, the good old days when I didnt have to be responsible.... Yea, I miss them too. If you ever partake around a campfire, the noise the crickets make is pretty wild; not unlike the chopper sounds. Don't even get me started. I live an hour and a half from philly where whippets are a joke. We get 3-4 foot tanks filled legally. Then we go to the party supply store and get a bunch of those huge punching bag balloons. That will make the sun come up quicker than you can possibly imagine.
  9. Thanks for the input guys. I fished one briefly today with no luck, but I didn't give it more than a dozen or so casts so I'm not going to pass judgment based on that. I fished it with a weighted 4/0 G hook and I'm going back out this evening and I think I'll try it weightless.
  10. I just picked up a couple packs of these and will be fishing them for the first time tomorrow. I know how to fish them but what I would like to know is what you guys think of them. Appearance wise i feel like there are better options for swim baits, but how they run will be the true test.
  11. Ben and Jerry's Smores End of Thread.
  12. My mind is officially blown. I opened this thread out of total curiosity...being that it's JUNE and when I saw how it was bumped I laughed LOUDLY at 3 A.M. Thank you Allie.
  13. I hear that, I'm a whiskey man 100%.
  14. I just puked a little.
  15. That is absolutely insane
  16. Have you looked into joining any bass clubs in your area? I'd fish with you but i live in NJ and smoke and drink heavily.
  17. Nice, I'd give you a pat on the back, if I could.
  18. Yeah just troll far enough away that they can't see you, but you can reach them casting. Having a weed bed between you and the fish would probably help too.
  19. Sorry, I didn't realize there were that many women on here...hahaha JK. Your not the first person to comment so I'll change it now. I thought he looked kinda bad a**. I mean the fish lived, he just swallowed the hook. What makes me cringe is the avatars with hooks embedded in body parts.
  20. Well that would be because i needed something relatively weedless that could go in very shallow water. Parts of the flat these fish were on were only 2-3 inches deep. So I could pull a jig though that with no problem. Also it was a very narrow creek channel so I could stop the jig and redirect it without putting any inconsistency in the action. Plus these fish were obviously hungry so it was more a matter of getting out of site and using the creek channel to my advantage rather than worrying about what I had on the line.
  21. theres a ton of threads about that lake on here. just use the forum search
  22. I like lunkerville. I guess that's cause it's focus on the average angler, like the people on here. Other than that i really don't watch any except if for some reason on a sat or sun morning im not fishing, i'll watch tourneys on ESPN.
  23. Popov is just ipecac and water. They make it just to crap with college students.
  24. I assume your reffering to this cold front and endless rain we've had in NJ. Just check out weather.com and i'm sure this site has articles about fishing in the rain.
  25. Nice fish burley. I like the overalls. are they osh kosh?
