  1. Watermelon with red, blue, or orange flakes.
  2. A swimming senko caught a bunch of grass? Is it attached to a swivel? Are you covering the knot and eye with your bait, or is it exposed? Senko type baits, flukes and slug go's is about as weedless as it gets unless you throw frogs. Good luck
  3. If you are using the xr10 I believe it is a 4'-6' diver. Just throw it out as far as you can. Crank it down to it's max depth(for me it seems to be about 8 cranks), pause. Remember it suspends, It will not float up or sink. Jerk 3 or 4 times and pause.Mix it up with the #of jerks and sometimes long pauses are the key to getting strikes. Sometimes very short or no pauses works better. You have to let the fish tell you what they want.It is one of my most productive baits.
  4. I absolutley love the x rap. They are always a producer for me. No matter the color. Blk/gold is my favortie though.
  5. Agreed, it does suck.
  6. Am I the only one who is obsessed about my full set matching. I play Clevelands only. Hibore Driver, 3 and 5 wood. CG red irons, CG 12 wedges and a Never Compromise putter(owned by Cleveland golf). I know guys who have clubs from 4 different companies in the same bag. It would drive me nuts. I am the same way about golf balls too. I can't stand having Titleist mixed in my bag with my Bridgestones.Am I slightly OCD? Surely I am not alone here.
  7. I always use a trailer. My favorites are Uncle Josh jumbo pork frogs, zoom trailers, and modified ribbit frog legs.
  8. That is a wicked popper. If you send it to me I will gladly try it out. With a full report on sound, how it floats, and # of fish caught.
  9. My biggest was 8lbs. The biggest I have seen in person was 9lbs(father). But I have seen pictures of specks that break double digits.
  10. 99.9% of the time I stand.
  11. C rigs and Tx rig worms, lizards and creatures. I have never went at it with a crank. I will on the 16th of Aug though. I am not bringing anything but cranks.
  12. To me the tide depends on where I am fishing. In some spots it is always better on an incoming and high tide. But on the North end of Sabine Lake the outgoing tide is the best.

Just wanted to see how many people on here are at work when they look at BR. I have noticed my work progress has slowed since joining
  14. Don't even get me started on the Specks(spotted sea trout) Those are a blast to catch too. Very much in the same way as a red. Except not really off of the bottom, (IMO)they are more like suspended and topwater bass. Same baits work with them as well.Especially the silver spoons. My biggest so far is 8lbs.It looked like a freak.
  15. I don't know about kayaking, but you can throw the same baits that you have been throwing. Also try some cranks of various depths, spinnerbaits, lipless cranks, and jerk baits.
  16. Uncle Josh pork frog,Big Bite Baits Kreit Kreature, and modified legs off of a ribbit frog
  17. For those of you out there that have never caught a redfish. If you ever get the chance to go try to catch some, GO! I am lucky enough to live on the upper Texas Gulf coast.Luckily I can drive for 5 minutes and launch in A very very good fishery called Sabine lake. So I have caught quite a few. In many ways it is like bass fishing. You can use a lot of the same baits. It is a good fight. The one way it differs from bass is there is no"oh I think I have a bite". A red will nail it and run hard. You better have your drag set right or it's gone along with your favorite lure. Give it a shot if possible, you won't be disappointed. These baits will get you by.Flukes, white or glow senkos, redfish magic spinners(single colorado blade/minnow body on jighead)gulp/powerbait shrimp, bone zara spooks, pop r's,mann's wake baits, cocaho minnows on jigheads, and stingray grubs, and silver or gold spoons. One techniqe I use around here is what we call " working the birds". Bring some binoculars find a bunch of seagulls diving in the water(they are eating baitfish), and throw that spoon past the birds. Let it sink for a few seconds, start your retrieve and hang on tight.
  18. Glenn I apologize,feel free to delete.
  19. I am not familiar with thermacell, what is it?
  20. Can anyone give info on this reel? good, bad, waste of money?
  21. You have your drag tightened all the way down, and it still slips? What kind of reel is it?
  22. I personally would throw it the same place and depth I throw my spinnerbaits and lipless cranks. About 8' of water on top of grass.
  23. www.hagensfish.com
  24. I am dedicated to learning deep cranks this year. Next time you go bring nothing but deep cranks.Don't give yourself the choice of any other bait. I have not been succesful with it at all, but I'll be damned if I give up on trying.Just a few weeks ago I went with my dad and he was catching a lot on worms, but I was dedicated to learn.
  25. You need to listen to AENIMA by a band called Tool. That whole song is about California falling off into the ocean." Learn to swim,See you down in Arizona bay". Great song, great album. My all time favorite band.
